View 8 Repliesmy computer wont let me log into my profile, on the windows sign in screen it has my bros profile and other users icon but mine isnt there and if i put in my name and password is always says either my password or name is wrong, i went into the administators account and took off my password and then retried logging in but still no luck, i've never had this problem before but all my college work is on the profile

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a small home network set up with 4 PCs (1 laptop & 3 desktop). I can see all my computers in my networks but I cannot connect to one of my desktops using my laptop. All the other computers/laptops can read and transfer files without a problem except for the laptop connecting to one of the PCs.
Both the laptop and the PC that is asking for a network password are on the same version of Windows 7 Home. I have file and printer sharing enabled. All are on the same workgroup. I have firewall off and I have turned off password protected sharing yet when I try to connect or print from my laptop to the one PC it asks for a password and I can't figure out why.
This only started recently a week ago. Prior to that never had this problem and shared files/printer without a problem

After restart to get the computer name change to take, I can't login to the computer. I did not setup an admin acct and can't login that way. I tried F8 system repair to reset to factory settings but a password is required. I went to F2 and set a user password on security, but it only works to get into the function keys. I would like suggestions of what to do to get into my laptop. I didn't get a restore disc with the machine, but created a restore on an external hard drive.

View 2 Replies View RelatedA few days ago, I plugged my iphone into my laptop and my computer froze up. I hard booted it and the computer booted up to what looked like the screen that you get when you hard boot it, I went ahead and pressed F1 to resume and what looks like a bios password box comes up asking me for a password. I never put a password on the Bios. So I tried to use my login password and got a password failed message. I tried again and the computer flashed and turned itself off. I turned the computer on again and I get to the Toshiba loading screen where you can select F2 or F12, I select nothing and it brings me to the password window.
I pulled the HD and was able to hook it up via serial to my other laptop and save all my stuff.
I'm at a loss of what to do, I have read some of the other posts and one of them suggested I reset the jumpers and replace the battery. I am not familiar with laptops, do they also have bios batteries and where might I find it inside the case?

How do I set up a password to log into the computer? If the computer is on, I don't want the kids to be able to blindly go to the internet. I want to make it so I have to log back in to use the computer.

Windows 7 is also installed in the same drive. before it was all fine but since this morning i hvnt been able to start windows(it hangs at the welcome screen). I switched on the computer then I enter the numerical bitlocker password ....then it hangs at the welcome screen. I tried accessing the Bitlocker encrypted drive from other operating systems the drive is shown as locked. when i tried to open it, it prompts for the password. when I enter the password the computer freezes.
