Windows 7 On Startup After Trying To Partition Hard Disk With Spotmau 2009 Show?
Sep 8, 2011i have brand a new Gateway NV50A with Windows 7 Professional 64 bit. I tried to partition the C Drive with 450GB to make another partition using Spotmau 2009. It displayed a window --that the system needs to restart for partioning. So I clicked on yes. After that it tried to restart and just stops on a blank Spotmau screen doing nothing(Spotmau Powersuite 2009 --Is a computer software used for partitioning and cloning). I tried to restart and bypass this window and start windows. But it doesn't work. I don't want to lose any data. I don't have a Windows 7 Installation CD.

Nov 25, 2012I am currently attempting to install windows 7 pro on my computer. I have successfully done so before but I wanted to clean up my hard drive so i decided to re install it. Now I only see Disk 1 Partition 1 and I can't install windows 7 on it. I get a message "Windows cannot be installed to Disk 1 Partition 1. (Show details)".

Nov 9, 2011Ok I have an Eee Pc 1005hab netbook given to me. When booted it had the error message Grub error: no such partition. I searched the internet and managed to get into bios and somehow delete the partitions. Now my problem is I can't install windows onto any partitions I create. I've searched and searched for answers. there is not disc drive, only usb ports. I managed to create a windows 7 bootable USB which will not install.

Oct 14, 2011just completed a first-time new Windows 7 PC build. Successful installation of Windows 7 Pro on WD 600GB 10000 system drive. Went back and installed 4 additional HDD. (2) WD Caviar Black 1TB 7200 RPM and (2) WD Caviar 7200 500GB HDD from XP system that were used for storage.
BIOS sees all HDDs, but are not viewable in Disk Management.
System Specs:
Antec Nine Hundred
ASUS P6X58D-E MOBO

However, only three are visible in Disk Management. Missing (1) WD 500GB (previously used on WinXP system) and (1) new WD 1T.
Disk Converted To Simple Partition While Making New Partition, Now OS Won't Load
Jul 10, 2011I wanted to create a new partition to try out linux. So I decided to shrink E: by 20 GB. I then formatted the free space into a new drive by right clicking and creating new simple volume. I was warned that the drive would be made "simple", but not knowing the implications, I went ahead with the procedure. Now on rebooting, windows won't load. I had made a repair disc, so was able to use it to check for any start up errors. It reported none. Moreover I used "diskpart" through cmd to find volume c: is dynamic.

Oct 30, 2009Windows 7 has it's own 80gb harddrive but i have another HDD with Ubuntu 9.10 in a 20GB partition and a sharedNTFS in the remaining 130~ GB.
The NTFS partition used to show up in 'My Computer' fine, but after re-installing Ubuntu 9.10 it doesn't. (NO i have not erased the entire disc as i can still access it in Ubuntu and it has all my files etc on)
Any ideas on how to get it to show up? it's even missing from the disc manager.

External Hard Disk (packardbell) Will Not Show In Windows 7
Oct 1, 2011My external hard disk up until a few weeks ago had been working perfectly. The next time I used it - windows 7 will not recognise it. I have tried different USB ports and computers. But it doesn't seem to work. It doesn't show up in device manager or disk manager. Its like nothing is plugged in. I tried switching hard disk cases and power supplies. But still nothing. The hard disk seems to try and run every so often, the light flashed red and it makes whirring noises as if it was connecting to the computer.
I dont know what else to do ? And it has almos 1500 GB of data.
Constant Disk Access That Doesn't Show On Procmon?
Oct 1, 2011I have a WD Green drive which parks its heads after 8 seconds of inactivity. This is measured by "load/unload cycle count" in SMART, and WD rates the drive for 300,000 cycles. I have accumulated over 15,000 in the span of a few days, which obviously isn't good for drive longevity. I don't have a way to run the tool provided by WD to alter the timeout for the heads, so I need to figure out what is causing this frequent disk access. Prior to whenever this started (I'm assuming it was a few days ago, when I installed a new motherboard) I was averaging 0-10 load/unload cycles per day, depending on how often I accessed the drive.I checked activity with Resource Monitor and found nothing accessing the drive except for the very occasional access of BCD.log and the MFT. However, I'm seeing ~3-6 load/unload cycles per minute, so something is accessing the drive every 8-20 seconds.
I tried using procmon. I set it to filter only for activity on E: (the drive in question) and I unchecked all the default "exclude" filters; I saw nothing besides procmon accessing the drive. I ran it for a good 5 minutes.The drive is connected to an Intel Z68 SATA II controller. I have no other drives which park their heads so I don't know if this activity occurs on all my drives or not. Again, nothing shows in procmon or Resource monitor. What can I do to see what's accessing the drive?Tried so far:Disabling SuperfetchDisabling AV

Jul 15, 2012I've got Win-7 installed on my laptop. Since the space on C drive is very less, is decided tht i'll extend it. I had another partition (D) that had loads of free space. But when I opened the Disk Management tool to delete this partition, the option thr was not active.thr's some file in D drive that cant be deleted. I was trying to format the D drive, but that's not possible either. It keeps on poppiin some kinda error ""Windows can format this drive. Quit any disk utilities or othe rprogrammes using this drive and try again". I also tried to locate the programs runnin any files from here. But there are few processes that i cant kill.
