Sorting Various Tracks In WMP?
Mar 25, 2011I would like to put all my single tracks (where there is no whole album) into one album in Windows Media Library. I know there is an option to set "Various artits" under the album artist for all these tracks, and to set a real artist under the contributing artists, so that would made WMP to keep it in in one album in library. But when I'm burning my CDs, copying these mp3 files somewhere else, or in general working with them outside WMP, I want to keep album artist under file properties=>details empty.

Jan 19, 2012When listening to music on my PC, it does not matter if I use Winamp, Songbird, Quicktime, Windows Media Player, or any other software. Every so often, there appears some sort of distortion, like the drive that the music is on slows down. I dont know if it is the driver or what. Its hard to explain. You have to hear it. I dont think its the mp3 file itself, cause I could play a song and it will be perfect, but then the next time I play it, it will distort. It is really driving my nuts cause I can't find the reason for it.

Sep 23, 2011I am using a third party music player, MusicBee, to play my music, however if I select a folder in windows explorer of an artist that has more than one album in sub folders under the artist name then the "PLAY ALL" button does nothing.
If I select a folder without sub folders inside the PLAY button works fine and open MusicBee to play the music.
I also have VLC installed and if I right click on any music folder I get the Play with VLC option, how can I add this same option for MusicBee.

I can see all my music, I can see my playlists as folders, but when i try to go into these folders, it cant find music in those playlists.

Nov 25, 2012i used to have about 2GB of free HDD space on my C: drive about a couple of weeks ago. i never install things on C: (where windows is) but only on D: and E:i know 2GB isnt enough for win7 but i had no issues with this amount of space. however now i have about 400MB which is too little and gets little every few days for a reason i dont understand. i know certain games have their save files on C: but im regulating the save folders of my newer games and they are always small and meaningless. i am afraid i have some temporary files that windows used for isntalling stuff and never removed these files, or something else that got bloated on my HDD and was never deleted.
i tried disk cleanup (didnt help much at all) and i looked in c:\windows\temp ( empty) but something is fishy around here. i had an issue a few days ago where the computer wouldnt restart without a BSOD first (the BSOD on restart has resolved itself, somehow) so maybe that was a period where files didnt get deleted properly.i dont know. in any case - i want to clear room on C:. i never install programs on C: so it's weird that it gets clogged.

Oct 19, 2009i am having trouble getting this crappy Wireless USB Adapter to work Ativa Wireless-G USB Network Adapter. I have the latest Beta* Vista Drivers from there site. Their support is complete crap. The FAQ say the supplied Drivers will work with Vista and they don't. I had to download the freaking 93MB Driver File and i had to enter Windows Vista and windows 7 with Option "Disable driver signature enforcement" to install them and i HAVE to stay in that mode at all times.
Trying to boot into Windows 7 the Device's Driver don't work cause they are not Digitally Signed. Any help in fixing this or finding other Drivers would be great! It's a pain having to enter that mode every time i have to restart.

Search Not Finding Files
Jun 22, 2011I recently needed to find some files (MS Word which contained a specific word). From Windows Explorer, I selected the root of the directory in which I thought the files resided, entered the word I wanted to find in the Search box, and 16 files were found.
I then repeated the search using a stand-alone search tool and it found several hundred files.
I looked at the search options and they ARE configured to search the directory in question and MS Word documents. (Since some files were found, it seems reasonable to assume that the search options are configured properly.) It also reported that my system was fully indexed.

As the Newegg video I was using as a guide suggested I made a system image shortly after I got it running but before I put much on, like Steam or any games for example. It went fine that time and found my HDD (I use an SSD for my OS, Steam, and games). Now, a couple days and a few programs latter, I wanted to try using the automatic overclocking function that my ASUS P8Z68-V Pro motherboard has. I figured before I do that I'd make a new system image. The problem is that when I go to do so the system image can't find my HDD and only gives me the option to back up to a disc. I haven't tried reformatting yet, but that wouldn't be a big deal as there really isn't anything on there yet.

Is there anyway to do this with the desktop.ini file or some other permanent way? The DVD-ROM is being authored on a Mac, so a hidden file like desktop.ini would be the best option here.

Sep 8, 2012I bought a new internal hard drive (Seagate Momentus 1 TB) for my Samsung laptop. I put it in my Rocketfish USB shell case, and plugged it in to my laptop. It said "Found new hardware" and said it was ready, but it never showed up as an additional drive in Windows Explorer. I tried it on a different computer and the same thing happened. The light on the case came on, it said "Found new hardware", but it never showed up as an additional drive to put anything one.
I wanted to do a "backup and restore" of my laptop's existing hard drive onto this one, but if it doesn't "see" the new HD, it obviously won't work.
