There was a program with which one could track the system shutdown processes - but I forgot the name of it.My system is getting ridiculous. It has always been slow at shutdown. That's why I set the Reg Key to 2000ms. But that does not help.The system boots in 15 seconds but needs 2 minutes to shut down. And that from a M4 SSD and an i7 CPU with 8GBs of RAM.

I know there is an option to set "Various artits" under the album artist for all these tracks, and to set a real artist under the contributing artists, so that would made WMP to keep it in in one album in library. Ever since then the Boot and Shutdown times have increased to over 15 minutes. I have run the msconfig unticking all but the antivirus (Kaspersky) and it still takes >15 min to boot and Shutdown. Then when i reboot, the update icon is still there. I'm thinking since the two updates are failing, it has something to do with the 1of1 update not downloading properly. I went to windows update to check for new updates, and the only one is the two that keep failing. My computer just blue screened on shutdown today, winch got me thinking i really need to fix this.

That means that every process is actually running a portion of the time on the processor before it is paused and scheduled for later.If that is the case why for example when you play music or video on PC isn't the sound dicontinuous - it should be if it's played just a portion of the time? So I just noticed that I had 5 explorer.exe processes running before with no windows/browsers open. I could tell my main one apart because it used more memory and the others all had *32 at the end (I'm using an x64 version of Win 7 Home)
I ended them and nothing happened, but then I also checked msconfig under the start-up tab and saw.
I've recently bought a new laptop with a load of program/process that i'd imagine i would never use.Would anyone be willing to tell me which programs i can uninstal (and what they do, if you could) and which processes to disable. You don't have to recommend what i do for all of them, just the ones you know.
