I've read through several threads & discussions here and at Microsoft and it seems that Logitechs don't work well with Win7-64b.I have two webcams Quickcam Communicate STX & Chat and the videos work but the sound does not. Have gone the full 9 yards to figure out why, consulted Logitech tech; seems that their webcams are not compatible with Win 7
I installed Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and now my built in webcam no longer works. I have a Toshiba Satellite L510-016. I am unsure of the webcam model itself as no information seems to pop up for it anywhere on my computer. I have tried installing drivers with no success.
I'm not sure where to ask this so i'll try here since it deals with cameras. I have an hp dv7 laptop with webcam. I would like to try it to see how it works (my wife has same system). I can't find any info in a windows 7 book. I can't find anything on the machine that looks like a driver or app.
I installed the driver for my webcam using the compatibility mode (ran it as vista sp2 though) and now I can see my webcam under sound, video and game controllers section in the Device Manager BUT webcam doesn't seem to work with Skype 4.1. I installed skype using compatibility mode in the same fashion. Has anybody had the same issue?
If I create a file called simon.txt in say C:ew docs and hit windows key and 'F' why when I type the file name into the search does it not come up. surely searching is a basic function? It worked fine on XP. I don't understand why it changed - speed I suppose.I have tried reindexing and rebuild and all that but still is this not basic?
any cool text to speech software with windows 7? that im allowed to use with music production, its cool to have computer generated voice with some normal vocals and vocoded vocals, thats all!
I have been having this trouble for awhile now where after Windows 7 loads, I do not immediately connect to the internet through a fixed hardwired connection. It is delayed by about 2-3 minutes. I have changed cables many times, refreshed my IP Config, released it, etc. Nothing has yet to seem to work.
I'm looking for Windows 7 x64 drivers for an Xwave-192 soundcard that has a Yamaha YMF724 chipset. I need these drivers because I want to use the MIDI ports from it. I followed the moderator's steps with both WDM and non-WDM drivers offered by Yamaha for WinXP, but neither of them worked. Yamaha YMF724/740/744/754 Win7 drivers
I have a Windows 7 Laptop which i bought in January, at the same time i bought a WD 2TB external hard drive to back up all my files onto (last laptop broke and i lost everything so decided to keep everything off the laptop itself).
I bought a dell XPS 420 64bit two years ago and a year later upgraded to windows 7 64bit (upgrade) . The last two years my hard drive has frozen and this summer required an additional hard drive. With some difficulty, I was able to reinstall the windows 7 upgrade witch had come in a box with no code numbers). I now have received on my computer notices from Microsoft that my use of windows will be discontinued in 30 days if I can not provide my code numbers! What do I do?
I am setting up a new laptop, Lenovo G570, and am having a rough time figuring out how this system works. I downloaded and installed the Open Office Suite and after it completed installation, I can't find the program on my computer. It didn't create an icon and I don't see it listed anywhere, either from checking for programs from the START BUTTON > All Programs or even from the list in the install/uninstall. I don't know if it matters, but I did not accept any of the accompanying other free programs
i used to have about 2GB of free HDD space on my C: drive about a couple of weeks ago. i never install things on C: (where windows is) but only on D: and E:i know 2GB isnt enough for win7 but i had no issues with this amount of space. however now i have about 400MB which is too little and gets little every few days for a reason i dont understand. i know certain games have their save files on C: but im regulating the save folders of my newer games and they are always small and meaningless. i am afraid i have some temporary files that windows used for isntalling stuff and never removed these files, or something else that got bloated on my HDD and was never deleted.
i tried disk cleanup (didnt help much at all) and i looked in c:\windows\temp ( empty) but something is fishy around here. i had an issue a few days ago where the computer wouldnt restart without a BSOD first (the BSOD on restart has resolved itself, somehow) so maybe that was a period where files didnt get deleted properly.i dont know. in any case - i want to clear room on C:. i never install programs on C: so it's weird that it gets clogged.
My friends have usb problem at lonovo system. It has a usb problem which is connection failure and device recognition error. So I tried to find usb driver but I could not get sis7001 usb driver for windows 7 at [URL].
i am having trouble getting this crappy Wireless USB Adapter to work Ativa Wireless-G USB Network Adapter. I have the latest Beta* Vista Drivers from there site. Their support is complete crap. The FAQ say the supplied Drivers will work with Vista and they don't. I had to download the freaking 93MB Driver File and i had to enter Windows Vista and windows 7 with Option "Disable driver signature enforcement" to install them and i HAVE to stay in that mode at all times.
Trying to boot into Windows 7 the Device's Driver don't work cause they are not Digitally Signed. Any help in fixing this or finding other Drivers would be great! It's a pain having to enter that mode every time i have to restart.
I recently needed to find some files (MS Word which contained a specific word). From Windows Explorer, I selected the root of the directory in which I thought the files resided, entered the word I wanted to find in the Search box, and 16 files were found.
I then repeated the search using a stand-alone search tool and it found several hundred files.
I looked at the search options and they ARE configured to search the directory in question and MS Word documents. (Since some files were found, it seems reasonable to assume that the search options are configured properly.) It also reported that my system was fully indexed.
Basically I know virtually NOTHING about video cards. Last time I got one it refused to work in my computer (an Old Dell).Basically I want to be able to decode 1080p (and do re-encoding, not necessarily 1080p) without my computer bogging down. And I want to stream to my Xbox with subtitles, which my G620 simply CANNOT do (as it requires burning in subtitles on the fly before streaming it to the xbox).I don't want a super expensive GPU, but it needs to be low-profile to fit my case (info in hardware description)
I have just done my quarterly full system wipe on my laptop, and have lost my little sticker with the router details on.Is there any way of finding out what wpa key is by going into the 192.168------ router set up number?
lm looking for some software that acts in a similar way to windows slideshow which has similar options like being able to specify the time each slide comes up and randomly show images in specified folders, now you might say windows already does that.however the reason lm asking is because lm looking for a software that has an extra feature of being able to run a slide show of 2 or more images on one monitor.. that is to say having up to 4 images running as a slideshow, is there a way to do this as lve only found an old outdated program from early 2004 which seems to be labelled a virus by my antivirus software despite scanning a few times manually and finding nothing.
