View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm having trouble getting Bass out of my subwoofer and need some help figuring out this problem. I have played with the WOW effects and equalizer in Windows Media Player and the subwoofer does work there, but it's very weak and doesn't kick in at all with other programs or online.
I don't know too much about audio, but I do know I'm having troubles since updating to Windows 7. I recently upgraded from Vista Home Premium to 7 Home Premium. My Audio setup is a set of Altec Lansing speakers and a Subwoofer. The system as a whole is connected to my machine at the Green audio jack. All wires are plugged in firmly and tightly.
This leads me to believe that I need to look into a Driver Update. Unfortunately, I don't know where do begin finding my Audio card type or driver. If anyone knows how to find this or figure out which Driver update might be useful for me I'd greatly appreciate it.
My DVD/CD Driver TSTcopr TS-L633c is not working. I have tried uninstalling it, and upgrading it, but the same driver will comeback as the best choice of driver, so nothing change, and I am still without driver. Please let me know how to get rid of the current one, and replace it.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am setting up a new laptop, Lenovo G570, and am having a rough time figuring out how this system works. I downloaded and installed the Open Office Suite and after it completed installation, I can't find the program on my computer. It didn't create an icon and I don't see it listed anywhere, either from checking for programs from the START BUTTON > All Programs or even from the list in the install/uninstall. I don't know if it matters, but I did not accept any of the accompanying other free programs
View 12 Replies View Relatedi used to have about 2GB of free HDD space on my C: drive about a couple of weeks ago. i never install things on C: (where windows is) but only on D: and E:i know 2GB isnt enough for win7 but i had no issues with this amount of space. however now i have about 400MB which is too little and gets little every few days for a reason i dont understand. i know certain games have their save files on C: but im regulating the save folders of my newer games and they are always small and meaningless. i am afraid i have some temporary files that windows used for isntalling stuff and never removed these files, or something else that got bloated on my HDD and was never deleted.
i tried disk cleanup (didnt help much at all) and i looked in c:\windows\temp ( empty) but something is fishy around here. i had an issue a few days ago where the computer wouldnt restart without a BSOD first (the BSOD on restart has resolved itself, somehow) so maybe that was a period where files didnt get deleted properly.i dont know. in any case - i want to clear room on C:. i never install programs on C: so it's weird that it gets clogged.
i am having trouble getting this crappy Wireless USB Adapter to work Ativa Wireless-G USB Network Adapter. I have the latest Beta* Vista Drivers from there site. Their support is complete crap. The FAQ say the supplied Drivers will work with Vista and they don't. I had to download the freaking 93MB Driver File and i had to enter Windows Vista and windows 7 with Option "Disable driver signature enforcement" to install them and i HAVE to stay in that mode at all times.
Trying to boot into Windows 7 the Device's Driver don't work cause they are not Digitally Signed. Any help in fixing this or finding other Drivers would be great! It's a pain having to enter that mode every time i have to restart.
I recently needed to find some files (MS Word which contained a specific word). From Windows Explorer, I selected the root of the directory in which I thought the files resided, entered the word I wanted to find in the Search box, and 16 files were found.
I then repeated the search using a stand-alone search tool and it found several hundred files.
I looked at the search options and they ARE configured to search the directory in question and MS Word documents. (Since some files were found, it seems reasonable to assume that the search options are configured properly.) It also reported that my system was fully indexed.
Basically I know virtually NOTHING about video cards. Last time I got one it refused to work in my computer (an Old Dell).Basically I want to be able to decode 1080p (and do re-encoding, not necessarily 1080p) without my computer bogging down. And I want to stream to my Xbox with subtitles, which my G620 simply CANNOT do (as it requires burning in subtitles on the fly before streaming it to the xbox).I don't want a super expensive GPU, but it needs to be low-profile to fit my case (info in hardware description)

View 6 Replies View Relatedlm looking for some software that acts in a similar way to windows slideshow which has similar options like being able to specify the time each slide comes up and randomly show images in specified folders, now you might say windows already does that.however the reason lm asking is because lm looking for a software that has an extra feature of being able to run a slide show of 2 or more images on one monitor.. that is to say having up to 4 images running as a slideshow, is there a way to do this as lve only found an old outdated program from early 2004 which seems to be labelled a virus by my antivirus software despite scanning a few times manually and finding nothing.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI just built my first computer on Friday. As the Newegg video I was using as a guide suggested I made a system image shortly after I got it running but before I put much on, like Steam or any games for example. It went fine that time and found my HDD (I use an SSD for my OS, Steam, and games). Now, a couple days and a few programs latter, I wanted to try using the automatic overclocking function that my ASUS P8Z68-V Pro motherboard has. I figured before I do that I'd make a new system image. The problem is that when I go to do so the system image can't find my HDD and only gives me the option to back up to a disc. I haven't tried reformatting yet, but that wouldn't be a big deal as there really isn't anything on there yet.

1. Folder view in icon view
2. Icon positions and size
Is there anyway to do this with the desktop.ini file or some other permanent way? The DVD-ROM is being authored on a Mac, so a hidden file like desktop.ini would be the best option here.
