Finding Drivers That WILL Work With Win 7
Oct 19, 2009
i am having trouble getting this crappy Wireless USB Adapter to work Ativa Wireless-G USB Network Adapter. I have the latest Beta* Vista Drivers from there site. Their support is complete crap. The FAQ say the supplied Drivers will work with Vista and they don't. I had to download the freaking 93MB Driver File and i had to enter Windows Vista and windows 7 with Option "Disable driver signature enforcement" to install them and i HAVE to stay in that mode at all times.
Trying to boot into Windows 7 the Device's Driver don't work cause they are not Digitally Signed. Any help in fixing this or finding other Drivers would be great! It's a pain having to enter that mode every time i have to restart.

Just installed Windows 7 Pro 64bit today (big mistake). One issue with this OS is that it can not detect my DVD/CD drive. It is a Samsung SH-223F/BEBN 22x Speedplus.Placing the CD with the drivers on it does nothing. The drive opens/closes fine, but Windows 7 refuses to recognize it or run anything that is inserted. It worked 100% fine in Vista. I used this to boot/install Win 7 itself a few hours ago. It shows up in the BIOS.I can not install essential programs of mine. I need to get this fixed quickly or else I will have to revert back to Vista...And no, Samsung does not list the drivers on their website. Typical since they are a shit company.

I have the DVD with Windows 7 installed on it, it is booting on start up, everything's fine. I have also downloaded and burned on another DVD all the drivers for my laptop. I downloaded them from the official website of the manufacturer of the motherboard of the laptop. Now my idea is, when the windows crashes and needs to be pre - installed, I install it using the booting DVD and then when it is ready I put the other disc with the drivers on it and install the drivers like for internet, sound, the touch pad and stuff like that.
I am sorry if I sound silly, but I just wanted to ask whether the way I have done these things will actually work because I really want to learn how install my OS by myself.I once pre - installed the Windows, but I had no idea that you have to install drivers as well so we had to bring the computer to the town to fix it. Silly me!
Also, is there any way to check whether the drivers I have downloaded are the right ones and will work? I see that they have the same names as my drivers currently installed, if that's anything.

I just reinstalled windows, and tried installing the latest High def audio codec from Realtek and no matter what I do. I just cant get my sound to work. In my playback devices, it still shows the green bar moving showing that sound should be playing, but i cant hear anything. My sound was working fine last night before I reformatted so I doubt anything went wrong with my sound card. I've tried pretty much everything..uninstalling all my audio drivers, then reinstalling the realtek high definition audio ones, and whenever i try to install the AC'97 drivers, it gives me an unauthorized vebdir. I've also tried using the CD that came with my motherboard with no luck. and I have also tried the latest drivers from gigabytes website with no luck.

Just installed a new SSD (OCZ Vert3 280gb) Ive run windows 7 in the past, have 2 Radeon 5870s. When i try to install the ATI drivers, when it reboots, the screen is black, but I can see a cursor. I can't do anything else. I've looked this up online and people recommend using an old driver, 9.6 or earlier. These seem to be incompaitble though and don't install properly. This is ridiculously frustrating.Anyone know how I can properly install these silly graphics drivers and move on?

I'm new, I'm not english (so, I'm sorry since now if something will be wrong with the language) and I have a big problem with my video card since I installed Windows Seven.
AMD does not support my video card (an ATi Radeon 9550 256Mb) with compatible drivers for Seven. I tried to install the drivers for Xp 32bit but even if I selected the compatibility mode (in properties) for that OS, when I restarted Windows after all the driver installation process I can't see anything on my monitor, or better, I see (it's difficult to explain) many vertical lines mainly colored in white and black flashing continously.
Now, I changed the video card with another one, only to uninstall the old drivers and retry in another way. And here comes out the second problem. When I go in the Control Panel to select the windows uninstall tool he says me that it's impossible to uninstall old drivers or non-ATi drivers.
I'm looking for an external tool for uninstalling driver; I found Driver Magician. except this second problem, is there any solution for the incompatibility with my video card? (please, don't say me to change it )(I tried to search here on the forum for something, but I didn't find anything).

I have come up against an issue with XP mode which loads XP SP3.The Toshiba drivers work under SP3. but the INSTALLER does not!!It will install on any XP2 machine, but not the XP3 Virtual machine withing XP Mode. How can I 'roll back' XP SP3 that Microsoft sold me with windows 7 to XP2 status - there is no UPGRADE folder or anything similar so must be an integrated build??I have loads of stuff painstaking loaded on the XPE now so dont really want to, nor am in confident in how to, do another Virtual machine with XP SP2 even if I knew where to get hold of a copy without spending more money.

I can't find the Windows 7 64bit drivers for my Medion MD41217 tablet anywhere and I know they exist, because people have mentioned them.Jumping mouse problem [Tablet] My tablet is refusing to work without the drivers, I've changed all the batteries and I've been into the control panel to try and adjust settings there but nothing's working.I've got the tablet to sort of work - the mouse is doing fine. The tablet won't sense the pen is near, though. The light keeps flashing rather than becoming constant.

I was a succesful tester of Windows 7 RC, where the realtek audio drivers worked flawlessly. Recently i purchased and installed windows RTM Home Premium.
If you have the following symptoms when reinstalling windows 7 RTM with the realtek audio:
- No Realtek icon in the taskbar
- Cannot active the realtek driver window from control panel.
- The windows audio playing devices do not show up when requested...
well:
For some reason, the realtek driver or Windows 7 RTM are not compatible anymore with RTM got released.
The problem is not with the driver, however, but with User Accounts Management security settings.
Install the latest driver from Realtek, which you find on the www.realtek.com. The version of the driver currently is 235.
Then, disable UAC through Control Panel -> System -> Change User Account Management, and reboot.
You'll notice now that the Realtek driver taskbar icon (the brown luidspeaker) shows up in your taskbar. Good news.
Click on the taskbar icon, and the RT driver windows shows up. In this window, you can change the driver operating from Stereo to 5.1.
Clearly, some things are wrong with audio in RTM. Because you cannot open the audio play devices dialog through the windows luidspeaker icon and right clicking the option from the menu.
So, maybe this is a preliminary work around.

As a last resort before uninstalling Windows 7 I thought I might pose a question here. I have been using a Bluegears b-Enspirer with XP for a couple of years. Recently I did a clean install of Windows 7 32-bit on a brand-new hard drive. The sound card simply does not work. No system sounds, no music, etc. I have already tried uninstalling the default drivers, removing the card, reinstalling in a different PCI slot, and installing the Windows 7 drivers available from the Bluegears website. No dice.
I like to think I am not a complete idiot but I can't figure a way around this. Yes, I've checked all the obvious stuff (levels, mute, old drivers, etc) as well as checking the card on another machine - it's fine. Not sure what else to try at this point.
It doesn't take a lot of searching to see that a ton of people are having sound card issues with Windows 7. Is there a fix other than "Go download the updated drivers"?

I'm working on 7100RC 64-bit. I have a HP Officejet 4215 All-In-One. I installed the full HP software downloaded from the HP web site for Vista 64-bit for this AIO. It appears to install OK, but the scanner does not work from the HP Solution Center (Digital Imaging Monitor) software which use the TWAIN drivers (I think). I can however, access and use the scanner by using another application - Adobe Acrobat, for example - by choosing to use the WIA drivers. (If I choose the TWAIN drivers to scan in Acrobat, the operation dies.) Using WIA from another application is a workaround, but I would prefer to use the HP Solution Center because it gives me a lot more flexibility and options. I have uninstalled and reinstalled a couple times with the same results.

I have a HP laptop on which there are 2 GPU`s one Intel 3000 and a Radeon HD 6490 M. At first I had a problem setting my Radeon GPU as main GPU. Because Radeon is more powerful I want it as primary but when i deactivate the Intel the screen gets all low-res and i cant change it up. On the other side, when i only disable the Radeon, the screen is still perfect. I have checked in game settings on differnt games and the GPU used is the Intel 3000 I wanted and still want to have Radeon as primary cuz of gaming. I still cant set the Radeon as primary.Installing new drivers from the AMD website doesnt work eighter. All i get is a catalyst with almost no options (2 mb). And when I start my laptop I always get as message reading: "the catalyst driver is not supported by the driver version of your enabled graphics adapter. please update your AMD graphics driver. or enable your AMD adapter using the Display Manager" W.T.F it is enabled in Display Maneger.
