I'm gonna build my first computer today. Since I already have a notebook, I noticed that if I connected a new keyboard, Windows searched for drivers. But does a new computer also require the drivers for the keyboard and mouse before installing the OS?

View 5 Replies View RelatedThis morning I was attempting to remove all my ATI related drivers ue to a display driver error I kept getting so that I can start fresh with a clean installation of the ATI video drivers. I went into the registry and deleted all the ATI related stuff I could find to make sure I had everything. I restarted my computer, and lo and behold, my keyboard and mouse weren't functioning at all, and I couldn't log in because of that. I realized in deleting those ATI drivers I'd possibly removed the USB controllers. So I had nowhere else to go except to system restore, but it told me I had no restore points, which is frustrating. So I'm stuck, i can't go back to an earlier date, nor can I log in.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI just set up a new build with Asus P8Z77-V mobo and windows 7. Not knowing better I tried to install Al Suite from Asus and it didn't install correctly. Anyway it was giving me error codes and I could not uninstall all of its files. So I then used AutoRun to delete the files. Well I must have deleted something I shouldn't have because now my mouse and keyboard don't work in Windows. They do work in bios and I set bios to defaults. I also started in safe mode but nothing. I tried a PS wired keyboard and still nothing. Since its new I have no back-up or recovery disk. I can't even install a disk because I can't click run. The only thing I can think to do is disconnect everything from mobo even the battery then reconnect and see what happens. If all else fails I guess I'll have to format everything and start a clean install again.

Have found some cheap-enough remotes on Amazon that provide basic functionality such as mouse navigation and closing/opening windows (e.g., "PC Remote Controller", "Vista Remote Control"), but none have provided the needed versatility documented above. (They typically offer four colored "hot buttons" that allow for programmable launching of programs via a shortcut-"shortcut", but not programmable keystroke combinations.)
Am running a non-WMP-oriented Windows 7 HTPC on a large monitor, and routinely do things like browse google-news from a distance using the handheld Sony universal remotes to open/close/switch windows in a mobile manner from various locations without being chained to a keyboard & mouse. My need is to increase the Sony remotes' functionality to transmit whatever manner of keyboard-shortcut keystroke-combinations that may be desired. recommend a lower-end IR remote that provides such programmable functionality? The intent is to get said keysoke-combos programmed into that, then relay them onto the Sony learning remotes for daily use. Is a $100+ Logitech Harmony unit my only option? If so, which of their several models provides such Windows-keyboard programmability?

View 1 Replies View Relatedi am having trouble getting this crappy Wireless USB Adapter to work Ativa Wireless-G USB Network Adapter. I have the latest Beta* Vista Drivers from there site. Their support is complete crap. The FAQ say the supplied Drivers will work with Vista and they don't. I had to download the freaking 93MB Driver File and i had to enter Windows Vista and windows 7 with Option "Disable driver signature enforcement" to install them and i HAVE to stay in that mode at all times.
Trying to boot into Windows 7 the Device's Driver don't work cause they are not Digitally Signed. Any help in fixing this or finding other Drivers would be great! It's a pain having to enter that mode every time i have to restart.

One issue with this OS is that it can not detect my DVD/CD drive.It is a Samsung SH-223F/BEBN 22x Speedplus.Placing the CD with the drivers on it does nothing.The drive opens/closes fine, but Windows 7 refuses to recognize it or run anything that is inserted. It worked 100% fine in Vista. I used this to boot/install Win 7 itself a few hours ago. It shows up in the BIOS.I can not install essential programs of mine. I need to get this fixed quickly or else I will have to revert back to Vista...And no, Samsung does not list the drivers on their website. Typical since they are a shit company.

In shooters i sometimes find my self unloading a gun in the air after the lag passes please someone help.

View 10 Replies View RelatedWas playing Left 4 Dead before and noticed whenever I hold down any key on my keyboard (Logitech G15), and try to move my mouse (G9), the mouse moves, the suddenly stops for a split of a second, moves to where I want it, then stop, etc.
Almost as if the MOUSE had latency issues.
Opened up Autodesk Maya afterwards, spun my scene around using Alt + Mouse, and it's all fine.
Anyone else got anything weird like this? Running 64-bit Windows 7.
FIXED. I verified game cache and restarted computer as well as swapping my USB slots.
Yesterday I got on my computer everything is running fine. Today got on it for awhile and suddenly the USB keyboard and USB mouse lock up. I've tried restarting it and I can't get past the first screen. It says keyboard not present or something around those lines.I plugged in a ps/2 keyboard and it works but my USB mouse will still not work. I've tried going into BIOS and making sure USB was enabled. Tried a system restore but for some reason it wont complete.

Anyway, i tried to ignore this for a couple of days but now when they freeze, they won't come back and i have to reboot the computer manually.I've tried starting windows through safe mode. View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an ASUS laptop running Windows 7 64 big home premium. a few days ago I brought it out of sleep mode and when the page came up for my password I had no touch pad or keyboard control. I have tried restarting. I tried using a USB keyboard. I also tried Safe mode and I've got nothing. I turned it off with the power button since I had no other choice. When it comes up with "Windows did not properly shut down" screen i can use my keyboard to select options, however, after the screen I've got nothing. My login screen comes up like normal. I even have a flashing cursor in the password box yet my touch pad and keyboard do nothing.

View 2 Replies View Relatedwhen I open, it's seemingly random, programs sometimes the usb flicker on and off. For example, the mouse works 1-2 seconds then stops 1-2 seconds and continues like that. Same with the keyboard, it works a few seconds, stops and repeats.When I shut down the program it works again, 'the program' because it's been abit of everything. Sometimes it happens again, so I have to restart again etc.With the new keyboard with back lighting and mouse with dpi indicator I see that the keyboard and mouse flicker with its light on and off, one after another. The usb unplugged sound or whatever it is has also occured with these new peripherals aswell.I've tried disabling power saving option in the Root Hubs in device management, but it doesn't help.
View 2 Replies View RelatedHave XFX 680i MB, P4-3.0 processor, 500 gig HD, 8 gig RAM, Gforce 8600 video card. Installed windows 7 and it is very awsome and have found it very easy to use. Only problem found is I have a Rocketfish keyboard and mouse Blustooth and seems to loose conectivity often, have to delete and search for the blooth items. Other than that Windows 7 seems to be a very good operating system and look forward to the release.
