HP OfficeJet AIO - Scanner Twain Drivers Do Not Work
Jun 3, 2009
I'm working on 7100RC 64-bit. I have a HP Officejet 4215 All-In-One. I installed the full HP software downloaded from the HP web site for Vista 64-bit for this AIO. It appears to install OK, but the scanner does not work from the HP Solution Center (Digital Imaging Monitor) software which use the TWAIN drivers (I think). I can however, access and use the scanner by using another application - Adobe Acrobat, for example - by choosing to use the WIA drivers. (If I choose the TWAIN drivers to scan in Acrobat, the operation dies.) Using WIA from another application is a workaround, but I would prefer to use the HP Solution Center because it gives me a lot more flexibility and options. I have uninstalled and reinstalled a couple times with the same results.
Are there any up to date drivers for HP Officejet 6500, that will will work with windows 7. I haven't had this printer that long, and have new laptop with windowas 7, and now the printer won't work. I will printer and scan picture etc. can print it, but you cannot save it into documents and I cannot use fax anymore. It is not a wireless model. I can't afford to go out and keep buying printers everytime computers are up loaded with new Micrscoft products. I have tried HP, keep telling me warrenty is expired. I can't believe HP doesn't keep their up grades to date. I canot afford to buy new printer at this time.
i bought a new computer and it came with a Windows 7 - 64 bit installed. Attaching the USB cable of the Officejet 6210xi makes the printer work but not the scanner. I do not know what to do but I tried hard to find a solution.
W7 RC 64bit. Haven't been able to us my Epaon Prefection 2580 Scanner, either native or XP mode. Has anyone had success with this scanner? Are their generic W7 64 twain drivers.
I have a HP laser jet Ml522nf printer scanner copier and fax, the printer works fine but the scanner gives an message that a TWAIN compliant device is missing. Please Help
Is there a way download for free a Twain driver to run my old 2002 scanner (currently running on my old desktop PC WinXP 32 bit) on my newer Toshiba Satellite A660 laptop (Win7 64bit)?
I just built a new computer running Windows 7 64-bit and I’m loving it. However, I have one problem that I just cannot seem to fix. I have two printers - HP Deskjet 5550 and an HP Officejet 6210, both of which I cannot print to.
When I send a job to be printed from ANY program (IE, Word, notepad, etc), the job in the print queue immediately says 'Error-Printing". When I run the printer troubleshooter it says there is a 'print job in the queue that is preventing the printer from working' and the troubleshooter will restart the print job which doesn't fix anything.
If I go into the Event Log I can see that windows is logging Print errors. Please click here to view the error:
Basically, the error says Spooler Operation Failed with Event ID #372. Searching for this error and event ID on the web has yielded no viable solutions.
Here's what I've done so far to try and fix this problem:
Uninstalled printer/reinstalled Stopped and restarted spool service Made sure spooling was set to AUTOMATIC (and it was) Tried alternate printer drivers (from different printers)
I am running a fully updated Kaspersky Anti-virus so I've ruled out the possibility of a virus.... although I guess this might still be the problem?
To me it seems like something in the /windows/system32/spool folder is corrupt but I don't know where to begin fixing it. I guess I could delete the whole directory and copy the .../spool folder from my laptop running windows 7 but I don't want to risk messing up my otherwise perfectly running machine.
Have been struggling with Canoscan drivers. My not too old d1250u2f Canon scanner seems destined for the scrap heap because there is not a 64 bit TWAIN driver to be had out there anywhere. I managed to drag the Scangear toolbox off the original CD, but the many drivers I've tried from the net never install properly or work at all. Has anyone figured out a work-around yet?
By the way, is it just me, or is it really annoying to find so many links going to the ParetoLogic Pay-To-Fix-Your-Drivers link?
BenQ Scanner drivers for Acer 6698 model scanner for Windows 7 or Ubuntu 12.04 (Linux). Works fine in Windows XP Pro, but not in newer versions or past Ubuntu 9.x
Q: Will this scanner work with Windows 7, My system is Windows 7. it states on the packageing - This film scanner supports Windows XP and Vista via USB 2.0 only?
I am having trouble getting a scanner to work with windows 7. The computer recognises the printer but not the scanner. I have tried 3 different multi-function printers with the same result. Using a HP Photosmart C4480 an error message 8,[(02-21474672590] comes up. I thought i might need to re-install windows 7 as re-installing the printer drivers does not solve the problem - or could it be a hardware problem, although I have tried plugging in to 2 different USB ports on the computer.
I'm looking for new scanner (25+ ppm) that will work w/7. Scantastik store claims nobody (fujitsu, canon, xerox, etc.) will work yet - drivers not available until year end. Does anyone know anything differently? I was able to get my HP officejet 7000 printer to work.
I had to buy laptop because my desktop with winxp died. Now how do I get the scanner to work with win7? I need to scan medical records. The scanner is a Canon Lide 55.

I recently upgraded to Windows 7 64 and can't get my Canon-DR-2850C scanner to work.According to Microsoft it's supposed to be compatible.I got and installed the driver package from the Canon site. Driver installed OK and device manager says it is "functioning properly." (I did not install the "job tool" below the Twain driver because it doesn't say it's compatible with Windows 7.)
When I click the scanner icon in control panel it throws a pop-up that says: "You need a WIA driver to use this device" and it invites me to install it from my mfr CD, which I don't have anymore and anyway would not be compatible with Windows 7. No scanning applications can see the scanner. Looked up this error message and it seems to mean I haven't installed a Twain driver, but of course that's what the Canon driver is. Canon seems to offer no support email links on their site (something I'll keep in mind during my next scanner purchase decision).
I can't, after switching to 32-bit Windows 7, get my trusty, faithful Epson Perfection 640U to work. XP was fine, no problem, but it seems to me that Epson have (has?) abandoned this fine scanner as there is no 640U listed in the Microsoft Support section @ EpsonPerhaps there is a driver in the Microsoft Support section, intended for another Perfection scanner that would work? I'm this close to downgrading to XP or else grapple with a virtual XP installation inside Windows 7. Which is slightly less pleasant than having teeth pulled. W/o the benefit of anesthetic
I have a Canon MX850 all-in-one printer/scanner. I cannot for the life of me get networking scanning to work on Windows 7 x64 7100. Windows 7 detects the network printer, but for whatever reason I can't get the scanning to work over network. If anyone has some good instructions for setting this up, let me know. I've tried Canon's IJ Scan Utility, but it finds no scanners. I've installed the driver manually, but then Device Manager just says "Canon MX850 ser Network", but I think it is supposed to include the IP address in the device name.
I am looking for 64-bit Epson Twain Drivers for Win 7 and Win 8 for Epson Expression 10000XL scanners! Epson did not follow and give a 64-bit version, they stayed at 32-bit...
I managed to get the HP software to install via the USB express install method after deleting all the .inf, .sys, and .dll HP related files and removing HP registry entries. But both of the scanner buttons that link to the computer on the unit still do not work?
