just did a fresh install of win 7.everything is working fine for me.do not have Adobe or Quick time or nothing should I install them?also have M.E. only should I get another spyware ?
so i finally decided to install Windows 7 x86 - everything went well - put all the standard stuff on there etc - i rebooted many times because of installations and updates
on my last reboot it just got stock in the bios screen (verifying dmi pool data..success! etc)
so i rebooted, same thing, took the disc out, same thing - turned off boot devices same thing
tried to use window's useless repair tools (whatever happened to repair install?) which didn't help - so i decided to format and reinstall - then it says it was unable to do that (partition error or something)
the annoying this is...is that this EXACT..i mean EXACT same thing happened when i installed vista sp1 from scratch - this happened - and to fix it i had to leave my pc open overnight with the hard drive cables all unplugged..in the morning with my fingers crossed i tried the installation again - and it worked.
my d: always disappears (single hard disk sata 233gig (250)) - sometimes it'll vanish from my computer and stuff - but this can't be the problem because the d: is a single drive on its own - my c: is a25gig partition from my e: - so it's completely unrelated.
does it matter how i replug the sata cables (2 of them) into the mother board? - they're both being recognised anyway
this is really annoying though - mostly because there isn't really an explanation - and because this random stuff always happens to my pc! - is it my hard drive because that's the only thing that would half- make sense
I have a mid 2010 iMac 27" 3.2Ghz i3 4GB ram 1TB hard drive space ATI HD4870.Running windows 7 x64 and OS X 10.6.6..I am using a wireless internet source from nearby, and the connection works great on OS X when I boot into windows the internet is completely un-responisive and when it does work its slower then glass (for those of you who don't know glass is technically a liquid)
I recently switched from XP to Win7. Most things worked fine, except for the internet. At first the "Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller" didn't work. But I found a driver for that one. Now there are just two things left: the "PCI Simple Communications-controller" does not work and the "Intel H5 Express chipset LPC interface controller - 3B06" isn't working either. I found these problems in the Device Manager.
I mainly use Google Chrome as my internet browser and about a week ago it started acting up. It would get stuck on a page or would repeatedly send me back to my homepage. I was able to use Skype, Ventrillo, World of Warcraft, etc. My AVG wasn't catching any problems, but the problem was happening. I would restart the computer and the browser would work fine for a little while, then stop.Following CNET's advise, I installed CCleaner and Malware Software and ran them.No problems detected.I found a similar forum here. Browsers not working, internet connection is fine And tried everything that was suggested to that user, but still no luck with my computer.I spent an hour+ with AVG Tech Support trying to resolve the issue to no prevail.
I have just done a fresh install from vista to Windows 7 7100. All drivers are installed and working fine but I dont seem to be getting any sound out of my internal laptop speakers.
I plugged in headphones and they work fine, i never had a problem in Vista. I have install the latest Realtek 223 codecs and still no joy, I'm in the middle of trying some older versions but does anyone else have any ideas?
If I connect to my work VPN, then IE refuses to load any pages (inside the work network or outside). It doesn't even appear to try, just goes immediately to "Internet Explorer cannot display this page." I was able to connect to the computer with teamviewer remotely, name resolution worked properly, I was able to ping the web server etc. all fine, even brought the page up in FF and Chrome with no problems. I turned off all add-ins and restarted IE, same deal. If I disconnect from the VPN then IE works fine again. I was running IE9, I tried uninstalling it but having the same issue with IE8.
After log in desktop it's all blue and only can move the cursor, other accounts work fine it's just the administrative account that wont open, I had tried from restoring to a previous point (it only gives me 1 and it's when the problem started) and did not work, I tried system repair and still don't work, I ran malware clean up and virus check and mostly every cleaning there is, and still nothing. (Btw I am running windows 7 ultimate.)
I am using Windows 7 Pro and I can't access the Internet My IPv4 is working but I get this: IPv4 : Internet IPv6: No Internet Access
But when I open Browser I get white page but on vBulletin forums I get a 404 error on Every Forum site I go to. So I have a laptop, my brothers computer, xbox360, and my own pc all connected wired to the same router. Recently my PC is unable to get any internet at all from anything, even though it says: ipv4 internet ipv6 no internet access
It shows I am receiving and sending packets but not very often. All my other computers on my network except my one PC, I thought maybe it was my integrated network card on the computer but it seems I am not the only one who has had this problem.
I have an Hp625 running Windows 7 Basic 32 bit - I can play music through my laptops built in speakers without any problems, but when I plug headphones (or external computer speakers) into the headphone jack no sound comes through them (and simultaneously the laptop speakers go mute). My computer is dual boot with ubuntu, and this problem appeared when I upgraded my Ubuntu version - still, I know that the jack works as it is working fine in Ubuntu, and Im sure the problem is fixable within windows!
My computer is using the IDT audio control panel, and according to windows everything us up to date and fine.
Since I installed Windows 7 on my Dell Precision M70 Laptop the Microphone does not seem to work? Speakers are ok since I downloaded a driver for windows Vista.
My PC works great most of the time. But...I wanted to install ASUS Smart Doctor on my PC and I get the error "GPU not detected" ! I have updated and cleaned and reinstalled my Graphics driver many times. When I check my "device mannager" it tells me my Graphics Card is installed and working properly ! So which is it ?I can ignore all this and go on about my bussiness, but like today, I got a BSOD because I tried to watch a video using the wrong player. It restarts fine and I can watch any movie I have on this PC, which is a lot.
I am facing this strange issue with my PC. Recently my PC just freezes for a moment and then it comes back to life. This happens when I am watching any video, playing a game. It never happened while I am online surfing (yet).
I did a fresh install of Win 7. Checked for virus, spyware and all other stuff.
I have a number of users that I support that cannot open a PDF file downloaded from a training website (external website, not intranet). Using IE8 they get a flash of status bar activity and then nothing. On my computer with IE9 I have no issues opening them at all. I've changed all the security, privacy, content and advanced settings to match what I see in my internet options, but that hasn't helped.
I can't figure out what has changed between IE8 and IE9 that causes this. Adobe Reader 9 is installed on all machines. Firefox 10.0.2 will open the files also, but has issues with some of our propriety software so we can't use it as a workaround unfortunately.

I got my system being fixed by a professional, but we're stuck right now trying to find a solution to my problem. The system is fine with 4GB in any slot, but when the third stick is put in, the system crashes.

I installed MSOffice Pro 2003 fine in WIN7 and I can find it under Programs86 but not under Start, All Programs. This is a re-install after WIN7 install and before it always showed up.I did a custom install of 2003 and selected Publisher, Access and Word, since I later want to install MSOffice 2010.But why do I not see 2003 under All Programs now?
Working on a a New Dell Inspiron Desktop (Dec 2011) with Windows7 All was we'll until about a month ago, when it would not boot up properly, it would get to the windows logo and freeze, or take a tremendous amount of time to get to desktop. I minimized msconfig start up programs, ran a CHKDSK, start up repair, system restore, everything, still no real luck, however once started it would run fine. Finally I did a complete reinstall, and all was smooth for a day, and boom once again, it will not boot properly on 1st try, then if I power down and immediately reboot it will start and run fine, I am puzzled, could it be a HDD issue? Even though when once past starting up session it runs fine. Usually in my experience if a hdd is the culprit it will run bad in more than just the start up session.
I have been having an issue on several computers lately where IE8 will not display a webpage. As soon as I close the troubleshooter the page loads right up. This has happened on new computers and old. I just installed windows 7 professional on a brand new computer and IE8 is having the same exact problems. What does this mean?

We have created a network image using Acronis which has so far been successfully installed on 4 of these machines. However, we have come to the 5th machine and as of last night it refused to power on. Then after 10-15 mins it came up and started to load windows but gave us a BSOD and everytime it restarted itself it would give us a different message. I have attached the logs for someone to look at to see if this is possibly a PSU issue or something else.
The machines have:
Windows 7 enterprise office 2010 adobe reader x silverlight IE 9 Firefox McAfee Visio Viewer
Okay so I bought the Windows 7 Pro Upgrade 64bit using the Student download via Digitalriver.. I downloaded it on Windows 7 RC2 32bit and I followed the steps that was posted in the error thread to make an ISO file and I booted the disc and installed 64bit. Everything runs fine except when I get to the final phase of installing and it restarts my computer, the computer hangs at the Windows is starting up screen..
Someone said to try disablign the secondary LAN in BIOS but that was already disabled for me and it still doesn't work..
everytime i watch a video, whether it be on Internet or vlc, i get this problem that makes every background noise come forward and louder, and the voices are incredibly quiet, when someone does speak the entire audio becomes choppy, like its grinding, this happened last night while i was using vlc just before i started a new episode, now it does it on Internet, even my itunes music is like it, i just get drums and bass.i've tried restarting the computer, even disabling the sound card driver ( i use realtech audio by the by) i've even uninstalled and reinstalled vlc to see if that was a possible fix, but nope, its still the damn same.
My Monitor won't at all turn on, I have no clue to what it is, or how it happened, it was working perfectly fine about 11 hours ago from when I was last on it. I try turn on the button on the screen and it won't turn on, the computer itself is fine, it turns on smoothly, and you can hear the start-up process in the computer but the screen is black, (won't turn on).
