I have a office setup where two of the computers run on windows XP professional and the other two run on Windows 7 home edition. I want to connect all of them to a common printer through the port. Both the computers on win xp have been connected successfully but the other two on win 7 I am unable to connect, seems some patch is required.

I can't get a Samsung ML 3560 Laser printer to operate with my desktop computer which is running Windows 7 Home Premium.There is nothing wrong with the printer or USB cable - they work fine with my laptop running XP.I have downloaded and installed the latest drivers for Windows 7 (and have checked this with Samsung), but for some reason the printer isn't showing up in device manager.I have tried connecting to various USB ports.

Is the XP PC set to share the printer? File and printer sharing need to be enabled and the XP PC and Windows 7 notebook need to be in the same "workgroup".
My WIndows 7 decktop is part of a small home network. I can access files from the network form the Windows 7 computer but I cannot connect to the printer on the network. When I run the "add printer" wizard, it correctly lists the printers on the network, all of which are attached to one computer. Of the ones listed, only one is a real printer. The others are things like Adobe, or a fax printer. I successfully connected the Windows 7 to the "Adobe printer" but when I try to connect to the Lexmark printer, I get an error message, "0.0000000a".
Also when I try "view network computers" from the Windows XP where the printer is connected, it does not show the Windows 7 computer as part of the network. THe Windows 7 had been part of the network prior to installing Windows 7 when it had Windows XP and it had no problems. THe connection to the home network seems to have survived the upgrade to Windows 7 on the Windows 7 computer but not on the others.
Have spent hours trying to google and find soultions to getting an XP printer to print via a home network on a Windows 7 PC that has a HP 1022 printer attached via USB. When I started out I could access the XP machine over the network but not vice versa, but can't even see it anymore.

I have run through the instalation process many times and it always ends with 2 outcomes.
1) When I try to create a network between my printer - router - PC it states that my WPA2 password is invalid. It is not!
2) When I attempt to create an "ad-hoc" network direct from the printer to the PC the instalation process untils it reaches near the end and it tells me that my must enable "portthru" in my network settings. The only place that I can see one can add a "portthru" thing is via my firewall settings.
I have had Samsung on the phone for hours and they cannot fix it. Yes, I have downloaded and installed the latest version of the software and drivers for the printer. I have tried a reset to factory settings on the printer etc etc.
The only printer in my network is on a computer running XP, and my 7 laptop needs to connect to it. How do I do this? I already used my XP computer to set up a workgroup, but I can't figure out how to connect to it on 7.

I have an old HP 5P laserjet that has an lpt1 parallel printer cable securely attached to it. i tried to connect a couple of adapters to the cable and plug it into the com port. I don't get any errors and it doesn't print. I took the driver from the hp site. do i need to change the com port settings (baud rate, etc...? What am I missing?

I have five versions of a Brother printer and four versions of an HP printer, and only one of each is actually good. My problem is: Whenever I try to print something (word, pdf, or any other file); printer spooler stops working and when I check the Devices and Printers all the printer drivers seem to be disappeared. I checked the Print Spooler" in the Services tool; and set the "Recovery after subsequent failures" option to Restart the Service. Therefore all the printer drives coma back after 1 minute. However the spooler stops immediately again when the uncompleted printing job starts; hence I can not print anything more than a page. Earlier in this forum, someone posted that Microsoft issued a hotfix for this problem ( hotfix 2388142) which can be downloaded from article: [URL]. I downloaded this hotfix and tried to install, however it gives an error message of: The update is not applicable to your computer and quits installation. I did uninstall and reinstall all the printer drives, but this did not help either.

My last 2 laptops were Gateway and I never had this issue, but I'm finding that A LOT of people are having this issue and no one seems to be able to help. I click on "find album info" to update my music library and the window pops up, but not much else. The little globe in the top left corner spins for a few seconds and my hourglass shows up until I move my cursor, but that's it. Just a blank white page.My browser of choice is Chrome, but I'm sure IE is default for this task.
1. I've made sure [URL] is listed in my trusted zone in internet options.
2. I've turned off wmp in "turn on or off features," rebooted and turned it back on again.
3. I've made sure in wmp I allow internet to replace missing info by going to organize - options - library
4. I never have "work offline" checked - ever - but I checked just to make sure.
5. I'm not 100% positive, but I'm sure my firewall settings are okay.
This has been driving me crazy for weeks. I really miss my Gateway that ran Vista because the player was a lot better and I miss the advance tag editor. And my last Gateway ran Windows 7 but I never ran into this problem. I'm wondering if this is a Dell problem. I just got this about a month ago and the 1st thing I tried to do was install Chrome because I abhor IE. But IE wouldn't let me download Chrome. Finally I found the .exe file on my last pc and was able to install that way. Could these issues be related? Maybe it's IE9.Also, some people get a script error when they click "update album info," but I (and a few others) just get a blank window.

(My main reason for doing this was to watch videos from HBO GO on it) I was able to get the hook up right and it does work; however, what is happening is that every once in a while, the picture on the TV screen disappears and it shifts back to my laptop screen. This lasts for about two or three seconds, then it shifts back to the TV screen. This does not appear to be happening at regular intervals; sometimes it happens ten times in a few minutes, sometimes it goes several minutes without happening.
