I have a Netgear Wireless Router WGR614-6VGUKS and a Netgear ADSL modem Router DG834 v4. Is it possible to connect to the Net wirelessly using these 2 and if so how? I have tried but with no success but not sure about order and connections. Looked on the Net but found info there confusing and not really answering my questions.
I recently finished building my new PC (happy to provide specs if needed) and I also bought a new panasonic gt30 HDTV. I trying to find a way to show my PC screen on the TV without having to use DVI cables just doing it wirelessly, I linked the TV to my network no problems as it has a wireless dongle included, this allows we to access the viera live crap.I was advised when buying my TV that if I have a PC with windows 7 and a second gen i7 2600k that I can just directly show my PC screen however I have no idea how to do this just wondering if anyone has done this before and any advice or guide they could provide. Basically I don't just want viera connect, I want the full PC access like you get when directly plugged in.
My Nephew has a very long house and a computer cannot get a signal from the wireless router which is at the other end of the house. He doesn't want to run RJ45 cables. Could he use 2 routers so the second one connects wireless to the first one which is connected to his adsl phone socket by a ethernet cable. If so how would I go about setting them up, settings wise. If so would the computer also be able to talk to each other to be able to transfer files etc to each other.. (enable workgroup & sharing drives/folders) I know how to setup this bit.
I used to run media centre wired and it worked fine. Trying to clean up cables running all over the place Ive tried wirelessly yet its almost to the point that it doesnt work at all as its incredibly slow and takes about a minute to react to controller input.Im running a TP-LINKTD-W8930N 300Mbps router.
My computer is part of a domain and I was at home wondering about how to transfer files from mac to pc wirelessly. I came across a turorial that told me to change some settings in System about a workgroup. It required me to restart and when my login screen came up it had a new username and a new password with "2011" as password hint. I cannot login to my computer anymore and i really need it
Been tackling this problem for over a year now, with a few installs of Windows 7 that ended up making me go back to XP. Well now I have a dual boot with XP SP3 and Win 7 HP x64. The problem is that I can't connect to the internet while using a wireless adapter on Win 7, the wired connection works with Win 7 though, and the wireless USB adapter (Zonet ZEW2546) works on XP. The only pair that doesn't work are the zonet and Win 7. I've tried just about solution I could find, to no avail. I have an EVGA P55v SLI mobo - which I've heard isn't great with wireless, but if it works with XP it should be possible with 7 too. Win 7 is a fresh install so the problem is not antivirus or another program. here is a copy of ipconfig /all (The Realtek wireless LAN utility is the USB adapter, and I am connected by wire.)

I have a Sony Vaio with windows 7 OS (64bit), I have installed and ran several differnet antivirus and malware programs and found nothing. I ran a full virus Scan (Kasperksy anti-virus 2012) and no issues found, I tried to do a System Restore to earlier date (it failed), I can see that i have an issue with the WAN Miniport IKEv2 (It will not deinstall...to try and reinstall...it just errors), I get "Diagnostic Policy Service not running" every time i try to trouble shoot. I have even performed a system scan, (cmd.exe....cfs/scannow) and it found nothing. I even bought a new USB wirelss adapter to try and get online and it doesnt work. I have tried to log on to the internet at work through our network as well as at home through my home netowork (two different providers) and nothing works
Well, I have a Satellite I355D-S7825. I checked under Device Manager and I only see the local ethernet connection I'm using, and it won't wirelessly connect anymore...I'm not sure what to do, or what driver to update or how.
I installed my dell v305w on my new laptop successfully and was happily using it until recently. It was suddenly offline. I tried updating the drivers to no avail. So after several attempts, I removed the printer and drivers and downloaded and installed them again. I then went to start -> all programs -> dell printers -> v305 -> dell wireless setup utility and ran the utility. The wireless network was added successfully, and the wifi light on the printer was blue. Success... However, despite the signal strength on both laptop and printer being consistently good, when I attempt to print wirelessly, the laptop lists the printer as "offline". VERY FRUSTRATING! I have been trying to sort this out for 2 days! I have rebooted both printer and laptop, and that didn't work either..I can use the printer wired, but I bought it specifically because it was wireless.
I have a Sony Vaio laptop, E-Series VPCEA24FM, running Windows 7, and I have trouble getting it to print wirelessly.I first tried it with a Lexmark Pro900 Inkjet printer, but when I sent a file, it would sit in the queue indefinitely, even though the print monitor indicates that the printer is 'Ready.'I thought it was a printer problem, so I got a new Brother HL-2270DW Laserprinter. The same problem would occur, it wouldn't print. In both cases, reinstalling the printer allows it to print once, but if the device goes into standby, I can never print to it again from the Sony Vaio. I have two other laptops, running Windows Vista and Windows 7 respectively, and both can print to both printers just fine.
I'm having to write this because my old bridged network worked so well for so long that I totally forgot how I ever set it up in the first place, but I recall that it was simple and involved:
- The two were connected via wifi - the primary one having a physical connection to roadrunner modem - The two had the same SSID, same Security method and passkey, different base IP addresses [192.168.1.1, and 192.168.1.21] - beyond that it gets hazy... what "mode" was the secondary in? somewhere I input to the subordinate router the MAC address of the primary router... dunno where/which field accepted that - do both need to be set to a fixed & same channel, as opposed to variable/Auto? - what all was turned off on the secondary? - both had full use of both their wired connections/clients and wifi - one of these is N-300mbps, and g/b, the other is g/b. do I need to limit anything?
Its not necessarily important to me that the connected devices all share with one another - I have strange clients anyway and its not needed. the windows 7 devices will be ok on the homegroup.
I wanted to know if I do new builds can important motherboard and Windows drivers be installed wirelessly or do you have to be hard wired? Will wireless downloading of drivers cause any problems?
I have a wireless router linksys connected to the modern witch is on the second floor. I want to connect another router linksys on the same network that the one on the second floor is on, wirelessly without any cords on the first floor.
My girlfriends parents have bought a new compaq laptop with windows 7. Connected up to the internet by cable & wireless no problem. Yesterday couldn't do either and found it nearly impossible to get into the routers settings to check them. Kept saying limited access. I've tried various things to no avail. Then I noticed that my iphone could connect to the router, so I ruled out a router problem. I brought the laptop home and it wouldn't connect to our router, so I'm presuming it's a settings problem. But now I'm stuck!
After being hit with a Trojan virus, I re-installed Windows 7 Premium 32-bit.However, I now cannot connect to my wireless network. In device manager, there is a yellow triangle and ! against network controller. I have no idea what network controller I have. Speccy can only identify a Marvell Yukon network adapter but no network controller.how I can locate the driver for the controller? I have tried every trick I could find on different forums, to no avail so far.
What are my options for connecting a laptop wirelessly to a workstation that is connected to a wired LAN and has no router?Essentially, I want to add wireless connectivity to the workstation so that the laptop can connect to the wired LAN via the workstation.
i have a windows 7 laptop and all of my computers at home are connected to my dell server which is running windows server 2008 r2 threw wires that go to my router, now i want to add my labtop to my server connecting the labtop wireless to my wireless router and from there adding it to my server. For some reason my labtop do-sent connect to my server
i have my wifi running on tv, phones and laptop but How do i Play media stored on my laptop wirelessly to my toshiba smart tv what software on my laptop would i need to install
My daughter got a Security Shield virus on her laptop and I managed to remove it using this BC thread: [URL]. The laptop uses Windows 7. The removal seemed to work fine, although one slightly odd thing (compared to the thread's advice) was that I didn't have to change the LAN settings/Proxy server when I booted up in Safe Mode - the virus was preventing internet access but didn't appear to be doing so by the Proxy server change. So I was able to access the internet perfectly well when in Safe Mode with Networking.
I downloaded everything I needed using the laptop wirelesly and scanned/removed the 2 security shield virus files using malware bytes. Then, when I rebooted as normal in order to complete the process and update the HOSTS files, I couldn't access the internet wirelessly. The router is working fine and when I connect via ethernet cable the laptop communicates fine with the internet. It just refuses to let me connect wirelessly.
I have tried: - Checking all firewall options in McAfee (though I guess this wouldn't enable a wired connection either if it was the problem) - Removing and reinstalling the wireless device (via device manager) - Deleting and resetting up the wireless profile Just not sure what to do next....
My operating system is Windows 7 Professional 64-bit. I recently bought a new laptop (not a Dell) and so wanted to link this up and synchronize it with my Dell 305w all in one Wireless printer so it prints and scans wirelessly. I put in the CD that came with the printer and I downloaded the most recent driver (or so I thought). Anyway, after all that was done it prints wirelessly no problem. The trouble came when I wanted to scan a document from the Dell Imaging Toolbox. On my old laptop (that is a Dell) and my daughter's laptop (that is a Samsung,) this works wirelessly no problem at all from the Dell Imaging Toolbox.
On this new laptop, it doesn't scan wirelessly although it does print wirelessly. Every time I tried, first a message came up giving me a choice of two printers to use yet only one is showing in Devices and Printers in the control panel. So I chose one. (This message never came up before on my other laptop and I never had a choice). After choosing one, I then chose 'scan' and then 'start' from the Dell Imaging Toolbox. This then brought up another message that was titled, 'Network Scan.' 'For best results when scanning over the network:
- Save all your work. - Close Dell Imaging Toolbox. - Press the Scan button on your printer's operator panel.
I need to have it working wirelessly from a remote spot as it did with my previous laptop because I am disabled. How to rectify this scenario? What am I doing that is stopping this from scanning wirelessly? On top of that also related to the printer, every time I boot up the laptop, a message appears saying, 'Microsoft.NET Framework Version 2.0 is required to continue. This software is available for free at - Microsoft website address.' I've gone to the website and downloaded this twice but the error message still keeps coming up every time I boot.
Is there anything similar to Mac OS X Airdrop to wirelessly transfer files between two computers running Windows 7?If possible without an internet connection, but I'd still be fine if it requires one, since one of the computers doesn't have a wireless card.
I have a office setup where two of the computers run on windows XP professional and the other two run on Windows 7 home edition. I want to connect all of them to a common printer through the port. Both the computers on win xp have been connected successfully but the other two on win 7 I am unable to connect, seems some patch is required.
I need to connect to a DNS Server over the internet. I have tried setting the DNS as the server IP but I really don't know what I'm doing when it comes to this. The server is running Server 2008.
I'm not sure if this is a Windows 7 problem or a Dell problem. My last 2 laptops were Gateway and I never had this issue, but I'm finding that A LOT of people are having this issue and no one seems to be able to help. I click on "find album info" to update my music library and the window pops up, but not much else. The little globe in the top left corner spins for a few seconds and my hourglass shows up until I move my cursor, but that's it. Just a blank white page.My browser of choice is Chrome, but I'm sure IE is default for this task.
1. I've made sure [URL] is listed in my trusted zone in internet options.
2. I've turned off wmp in "turn on or off features," rebooted and turned it back on again.
3. I've made sure in wmp I allow internet to replace missing info by going to organize - options - library
4. I never have "work offline" checked - ever - but I checked just to make sure.
5. I'm not 100% positive, but I'm sure my firewall settings are okay.
This has been driving me crazy for weeks. I really miss my Gateway that ran Vista because the player was a lot better and I miss the advance tag editor. And my last Gateway ran Windows 7 but I never ran into this problem. I'm wondering if this is a Dell problem. I just got this about a month ago and the 1st thing I tried to do was install Chrome because I abhor IE. But IE wouldn't let me download Chrome. Finally I found the .exe file on my last pc and was able to install that way. Could these issues be related? Maybe it's IE9.Also, some people get a script error when they click "update album info," but I (and a few others) just get a blank window.

I have a Packard Bell EasyNote TJ71 laptop running windows 7. I use an HDMI cable to attatch to a flat screen TV and generally have no problem bringing up the second screen then changing over to the TV as the one screen when I watch a movie. I only need to do this as closing the lid on the portable switches it off.The problem I have is that I can not get the sound transferred to the TV,
I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 that I purchased in the USA, brought to the UK - had hard drive failure; which was replaced and then had Windows 7 OS installed (and now the laptop thinks it's a UK laptop too - ie: the @ symbol has moved - etc)... None of this has been a problem until recently when I moved back to the USA. I have a TV that I want to hook this laptop up to, so that we can view my video files on a bigger screen - but I've found that my laptop is displaying in PAL format - while the TV must have it in NTSC. I've been searching around and I cannot seem to find out where to change that over.... Should I put in an American DVD into the dvd player and switch regions?
When I connect my laptop to my LCD TV I can see windows 7 starting to load on the TV screen. As soon as Windows has installed the TV is not visible and windows can't detect it. Also some icons dissapear off my laptop screen.
