I have a Sony Vaio laptop, E-Series VPCEA24FM, running Windows 7, and I have trouble getting it to print wirelessly.I first tried it with a Lexmark Pro900 Inkjet printer, but when I sent a file, it would sit in the queue indefinitely, even though the print monitor indicates that the printer is 'Ready.'I thought it was a printer problem, so I got a new Brother HL-2270DW Laserprinter. The same problem would occur, it wouldn't print. In both cases, reinstalling the printer allows it to print once, but if the device goes into standby, I can never print to it again from the Sony Vaio. I have two other laptops, running Windows Vista and Windows 7 respectively, and both can print to both printers just fine.
I was working on an email Saturday when my Sony Vaio stopped working & flipped over to the black & white Vaio screen. Since then, I've been able to reboot it once, but it flips right back over to the Vaio screen. At one point, I was able to get to the Advanced Boot Options menu by hitting F8. I tried to restore to the last known good configuration. It got to the Windows logo screen, then went back to the Vaio screen, then went to the "Operating System could not be found" screen. The computer has a One Touch Web Access Without Booting Up feature.
My Vaio took a bang earlier today and now windows won't boot up and I'm just getting blank screens all the time. I can't even reset to factory as I can't access anything. Hard drive light is constantly on but can't hear much noise from it.
I have a Sony Vaio NS and I wanted to upgrape to Windows 7 RC Build. I was wondering would I have to install any drivers since I am upgraping and not clean installing?
My vaio 2005 computer allowed me to view and edit video from my sony digital video camera using windows xp. After a bad virus, I had to install windows 7. I used roxio software to try and edit and record my video but the computer didn't recognize the camera. In trying to use windows media player, I was told that I needed a driver for the camera, but in searching the computer and the internet for one, none was found. After contacting Microsoft, they couldn't find a driver.
I have a re-occurring problem with my 1year old Sony Vaio. When I switch it on, it often goes to a page where it says 'windows was unable to start'. When I press 'start windows normally' it starts up with vaio logo and sometimes windows logo, but then stops and redirects me to a page that is blue to check for problems, but stays on this for hours, never resolving the issue. I have tried taking battery out, booting in safe mode (which doesn't work) and using last known working settings, but still can't get to log in page.
I had a bluescreen on this sony laptop, and I have attached the dump file to the thread. Can any identify what caused the bluescreen (driver... program... etc??) I was watching a flash video as the computer crashed. I am thinking it was perhaps the graphics driver. If you can't identify what caused the BlueScreen thru that file could you tell me where to check to find out?
Does any know where I can get the driver for the built in webcam on my VPCEJ2B1E, I can't find the on the sonysite and they are not in the driver folder on cdrive. Somehow this driver got deleted for my newlaptop.
ok, so my VAIO is starting to BSOD more frequently now. I rolled it back to a day before it first started acting up, but it is still happening. here is all the data for it. Hope someone can help me out.
Win7 64 wont start on a Sony Vaio. It will sometimes get to the desktop and seconds later it shuts down. No logout, just a black screen total shutoff. when restarted the black screen popped up again but this time it was with the message "windows failed to start" and the options were either "launch startup repair" or start windows normally. I chose "launch startup repair".
The startup again goes to the immediate shutdown, more quickly each time it is tried. I have gotten into safe mode and performed a memory and disk check which were ok. It seems to go farther into the startup after it has been shutdown for a while.
I have a vaio and it has had windows 7 64 from new, and just recently it has been freezing with no errors. What happens: when i turn it on it starts normally and loads windows, then aftr about 1 minute it locks up as if it is trying to open something. The light on the laptop is solid orange as if it is busy doing something, but if i open task manager it says 5% cpu usage and the ram is using only 1.5 gigs.If i leave the computer on for 1-2 hours it will un freeze and be totally normal again. It did it once at first and i removed the program that i thought was causing it and it didnt happen again for a few days until i updated windows.
My Sony Vaio froze on me and I shut it down by the power off button As soon as I rebooted it would go to the windows 7 loading screen and then go to a blue screen! I tried to restore my computer with the Sony restore disk. It would load then go to the blue screen and the mouse is present but it doesn't do anything from there! Sometimes it would bring up the command prompt and the I cursor blinks and nothing happens Then I tried to attemped and restore with Windows 7 disk and samething happens it loads and instead of a blue screen it is black with a mouse and doesn't do anything I tried pressing F12 and it says Check cable connection pme-mof: exiting intel pxe rom.
When I don't put a disk in it goes to a black screen that says If windows files have been damaged or configured incorrectly, start up repair can help diagnose it!
i have a sony vaio laptop VGN-FW370j with windows vista on it.
i went and brought windows 7 ultimate today ( a small shop was selling them early), i want to install it but im wondering how i will get all the drivers for my laptop back as the sony site is absolutely useless.
a fast answer would be awsome as im dreading every moment of vista
I installed Windows 7 (64-Bit) on my Sony Vaio laptop (VGN-FW11E) yesterday coming from Vista (32-Bit). Everything is running ok but i have one problem. On Vista i used to scroll up and down using my touchpad however on Windows 7, that function seems to have disabled. On Vista there also was a touchpad setting where i could set my touchpad functions, but which i can no longer find on Windows 7.
When i installed Windows 7, i understand that i cannot carry over all the sony vaio programs onto Windows 7 (because my laptop is too old apparently) but is there anyway to adjust my touchpad setting? I have always used the touchpad scroll function and it is kind of annoying not having it.
I have a sony vaio vgn-sz430n running Windows Vista Business. I upgraded to Windows 7 and it went off without a hitch until the first log in. The desktop will not fill the screen and it only gives me two options for resolutions: ~1024x768 and 800x600. I went to device manager and found that my display driver is now standard vga driver.
The laptop has an nvidia geforce go 7400 graphics card and, from what I've read, it also shares memory with onboard integrated graphics...I think. I read other threads suggesting methods to fix this problem but none of them have worked. I tried downloading the windows 7/vista driver for that nvidia graphics card from nvidia but the setup program says no compatible hardware found.
I tried pointing Windows 7's driver installation (from device manager) to the driver's location in the setup folder but it tells me the most current driver is already installed and no update is needed. I even tried modding the driver (as suggested on another thread) but that didn't work.
It's a Sony VGN-NW265F/(B???) (Idk what the difference between the F and F/B is but on my laptop it is listed as just VGN-NW265F..I do have the Blu-ray player option though is that what the B stands for?) anyways
Device Manager is showing:

The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)
To find a driver for this device, click Update Driver.
I'm new here so sorry if this is in the wrong section... I just got my sony vaio laptop and it has wondows seven on it. I can see the green bar going up and down indicating that my sound is on, but I do not hear anything. Also everytime I try to go to a website it says certificate error and even when I click Proceed to this website it shows no graphics. IS there any way to get rid of that anti virus feature? THE MODEL NUMBER OF MY COMPUTER IS "VPCEB15FX" Also, a fast response is needed. I'm leaving for vacation on the 15th and need this fixed by then.
I have a Sony Vaio all-in-one destop with a dim screen, I can barely see what's there, if I put it to sleep and then come back the screen lights up for about 5 seconds and then goes dim again. Tried restarting but it does the same thing, just looking for some suggestions, it's out of warranty.
