I've had my computer for over a year now and suddenly today i was watching a video when it lagged and then all of a sudden the screen went black. I turned it off and upon turning on again, I got the error "bios detected a problem with the cooling fan 902, press enter to shutdown" I have the lastest bios as far as I know and iv tried blowing into the slots with compressed air but nothing works.

View 1 Replies View RelatedPretty much what happened is that my powersupply got messed up one day and just turned off my computer and I couldn't boot it back up. I ordered a new PSU and I installed it but now when I boot my computer I'm getting "Disk boot failure, insert system disk and press enter". I've tried putting in the installation disc and using the recovery options but my OS isn't listed/found and if I click load drivers I can clearly see both of my hard drives. I have already checked boot options as well. I was also using GRUB before this all happened as well because I installed ubuntu as a dualboot.

This screen is only up for two seconds before it flashes to the POST screen which then flashes into a screen that says "Loading Operating System". Then it loaded my OS.. I've done reformatting / reinstalling Windows 7 several times, yet the problem still occurs. I'm thinking of my HDD as being corrupted or messed up. However, I soon discovered that if I boot from the Windows 7 cd and do not boot from it (By ignoring the "Press a key to boot from CD or DVD..." Windows 7 boots up fine.
I've tweaked my BIOS over and over, but the same problem persists. The drive is brand new and fine. What can I do?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have the above motherboard. I have been using a video card which is three years old and thought I would try out the integrated video before my video card died. I switched it in the Bios and switched the monitor cable and it started fine on integrated video. The only thing is that the first screen where I can enter Bios does not show, so I am unable to enter the Bios. I tried hitting the delete button on the blank screen but nothing happens. I was able to shut down the PC and switch back to the video card, so I am OK. Does anyone have any idea why the first screen doesn't show on integrated?
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy friend recently gave me his HP desktop to take a look at. It came with phenom II quad core processor, 8gb of ddr3 ram, a 1.0 TB WD sata hdd, an integrated geforce nvidia 9100 graphics card, and a 300W psu. When I first turned it on, it booted up to the HP logo and froze there not allowing me to enter the BIOS. After resetting the BIOS I was able to get a slight way into the Windows 7 installation. I tried hooking up the hdd as an external to another desktop and it seemed to be working fine.
I deleted all partitions and reformatted it and tried again, same issue. I've tried with a second hard drive, which i know works, and it also gave the same freezing problem. I've also tried using a different psu which got me a little further into the installation but eventually froze and gave me 0x00000e9 hardware error. With no hard drive at all, it can boot a few times but will eventually freeze up at the logo screen, which led me to believe it might be an overheating problem.
I applied thermal paste to both the cpu and gpu heatsinks and on the first boot it froze during installation with the next few resulting in the same logo screen freeze. I've also realized the gpu heatsink is extremely hot to the touch and at one point, after numerous reboots, the display wouldn't even show. I don't wanna jump to the conclusion that the gpu is fried and buy a new motherboard without consulting anyone.
I have a windows 7 hp laptop model dv6000 and I want to check all my hardware components through the BIOS. I know that the key is f2, but whats the best time to hit this key..........

I have Windows 7 64 bit Ultimate edition. I got a Logitech Quickcam pro 9000, I have had it for a while and always had this problem. So the problem is whenever my PC is shut down, restarted, or wakes from sleep my webcam is either not detected, or is detected as a USB 1.1 device, instead of USB 2.0. In order for it to be detected as USB 2.0, or even detected at all, I have to unplugg it and plug it back in. I have all the current software and drivers for my motherboard, windows, and my webcam, in fact I just rechecked yesterday. So, my motherboard is an Nvidia 780i sli. I have looked in the Bios and USB 2.0 is definately enabled. Besides I know it working cause none of my other devices have this issue, plus like I said if I unplugg then plug the webcam back in, it is once again detected as a USB 2.0 device. I have tried all my USB plugs on my PC, and same result. So maybe a bios update? I have the P06 and noticed there is a P10 bios version now. Also when I go into device manager and click show devices by connection, I do not see a USB 2.0 catagory anywhere. Shouldn't USB 2.0 devices be in the USB 2.0 subcatagory? Or is it listed as something different cause of my MB, or Windows 7?
View 4 Replies View Relateda friend of mine asked me to look at his laptop the other day.It had stopped booting to windows.No OS detected, couldn't boot from HDD, still detected in the BIOS however. It's on a laptop which has 2 IDE connections so I switched the drive to the other and changed the boot order, same problem. The disk was essentially full and he was after a new one so I suggested now could be the time. Anyway the new HDD arrived today, got hold of a copy a Windows 7 and installed it, laptop now boots fine into the new copy of windows, everything is running OK but he needs data off the old HD. I thought the new OS would be able to access it but it isnt recognised in my computer. It is still recognised as the secondary drive in the BIOS and in windows drive management but cannot access it.Drive management can see it and says the device is working properly but it wont initialize, wont turn offline and any access attempt comes up as an I/O error.It has win7 and all his data on so formatting to just save the hard drive for storage isnt an option (just yet).

When I go into the Advanced BIOS Features, all the master and slave configs are none; however, my SSD is recognized as I am on my computer right now using it. I tried every SATA Port, EVEN THE SATA PORT MY SSD IS INSTALLED ON, and it doesn't work; I tried 2 different cables and still no recognition; I tried 4 different hard drives and still no recognition, so it is not a problem with my motherboard, hard drives, or cables. The problem is there used to be two hard drives I can access, Drive B and Drive C. When I boot up the computer, BIOS only detects Drive C (if I'm not mistaken), and Disk Managements as well. I realized this when all the programs whose targets are on that drive are all broken on the desktop.So Drive B doesn't show up anywhere at all.
View 29 Replies View RelatedJust after I upgraded my BIOS, I enjoyed a constant black screen after the BIOS Screen, which said something like CTRL + ALT + DELETE to reboot. It was no longer detecting something. So I removed the second HD and I was able to boot windows.
During the next boot I did the trick to connect the hard drive to the mobo during the Windows loading screen. And the HD became recognized, I was able to use it normally. In the next boot I left the hard rive connected and it wasn't detected by BIOS or Windows. I tried several cable combinations to see if there's a faulty one but no avail.
The weird part is that this drive does not emit any particular sound and most of faulty drives make noises. Another strange thing is that with the power supply connected the hard drive gets hot, really hot, like it's doing something...
Maybe I should downgrade the BIOS if I can. What do you think?
MOBO: Asrock 4g1m VS3.
PSU: 600W generic.
