Windows Wont Load After Change A Drive Type From Primary To Logical?

I had 3 drives. my windows7 was installed on drive C. And I had 130GB unallocated space. I wanted to make new drive in this space with Minitool Partition Wizard.I read in mintool site that you can only have 3 primary drives. My E Drive was not important for me and I convert it to a logical drive and made a restart.Buuuut after restart my Windows 7 wont boot. Now I have fedora 15 and I see that all my drives and files are ok.
So, I want to have Windows 7 Home Premium 86x and 64x versions installed on my PC with dualboot. I have 86x version of Windows 7 installed already. So, for 64x version, I have to create a new partition. The problem is, I already have 4 primary partitions, so I can't create a new one (I read somewhere that Windows have to be installed on a primary partition). Here is the picture: (Don't mind disk 2, it's just the external drive).
If I try to create a partition on "Unallocated", Acronis Disk says this:
My question is, which of these partitions on disk 1 can I safely convert to logical? If I am wrong here and I still won't be able to create a new primary partition for Windows to be installed on. I'm really not so good at this things.
Windows 7 is coming pre-installed on my new PC from Dell. It has two 500GB HDDs.
I want to partition the first drive into just a couple of partitions. I guess I will have to shrink the main partition to about 100GB for the OS and apps.
But my question is: that partition with the OS and apps will be a 'primary' one...what will my next couple of partitions be? Logical? Extended?
I'm not sure how to decide what type of partitions to have.
In switching over from XP to 7 I found myself also buying almost all new components, except hard drives. Due to a number of events that no one would believe humanly possible, I managed to establish my "C:" and "D:" drives on hard drive 1, whereas hard drive 0 is a bunch of free space. The computer boots up to Windows 7 on "C:" on HD 1.
I want to switch cables on the SATA drives and then designate the new HD0 (which was HD1) as the primary active partition, but as we all know, I can't just switch cables as then the computer does not know to boot off HD0.
So I have a 64MB SSD that I use as my boot drive, then I have 1TB in SATA. I have Windows loaded on my SSD and everything works great. What I want to know, how do I move the primary drive to the SATA? Right now, SSD is "C" and SATA is "E".
I had my friend Dell Laptop. He want me to create a two extra partitions in existing primary partition which is C:The HDD is 1TB in size.One hour ago I had used Dell data backup program and created recovery discs and then formatted the Laptop to factory default. I thought before formatting it will give me options to create a partitions but it did not had any option.
I want to add a new internal 1TB HDD with 2 partitions: 100GB for scratch disk space for Adobe CS, Autocad etc. and the remaining 900GB for User Data. My OS/Apps is on a 90GB SSD with no partitions. I have read the tutorial on creating a new partition but several questions remain unanswered..
1. should both the "S" partition ("S"cratch space) and "U" partition (User Data) be extended partitions, or should the "S" partition be Primary? If I desired to direct temp files here and possibly a 2nd pagefile...would that dictate primary or extended type? Is it OK to perform all these functions on this partition (scratch space, temp, pagefile?).
2. I want the "S" scratch disk partition to be on the outer edge of the drive so that it is the fastest. Do I create this partition 1st or 2nd?
3. Since I'm not installing an OS on this HDD, the 100MB "recovery" partition will not be created on this one? Would it be advantageous to have such a partition if the other SDD with OS/Apps fails?

I currently have Win XP 32 bit on my C drive which is logical (don't know why it is). And I want to add Windows Ultimate, but I don't know where to put it. Here is a screenshot of my disk management.

I wanted to know if there was any way i could make windows 7 my only operating system. Currently i have a dual boot with xp and 7. On disk management xp is listed as D: (System,Active,Primary Partition) and 7 is listed as C: (Boot,Page File,Crash Dump,Logical Drive). Is there any way to delete windows xp and have windows 7 be the primary partition without reinstalling it. I already moved all of my data from xp to windows 7. I had hoped to delete all of the data on XP and incorporate the newly unallocated space into windows 7.
I've often heard that the OS should be on a drive (logical drive) by itself so that, when it gets a problem, you can just re-install a new copy of the OS on that drive. However, isn't the OS modified when you install programs?
I have 4 partitions...1 with 7, and another with Vista. I want to put XP on also, but of course I can't create another primary. I'm pretty sure I can add XP on a logical, but don't know how. Am I right, or am I out of luck with XP.
i had XP pro installed on my c drive (250gb) for a while,,,a month ago i have installed windows 7 enterprise to another hard disk (500gb) to test and get used to it while i keep my xp...so i have dual boot without any problems..
i never actually looked at it before up until today when i decided that its time to get rid of xp and keep the windows 7 as my only boot option...
as some of you have experienced before i had problems deleting the xp completely due to it being the system drive,etc..
while i was playing around i have found out that the hard drive that i have installed windows 7 has no primary partition but only a logical drive where the os is installed...while the hard drive of the xp is system drive on a primary partition...( I AM ATTACHING THE SCREEN-SHOT OF MY DISK MANAGEMENT)
so now i have a dilemma,,i need help!!
what i ultimately want to do is to get rid of XP completely and keep my 7 as my only boot.....what the heck do i need to do to accomplish that?
i have unsuccessfully tried to delete ,format the xp manually,,,i have physically removed the xp drive which resulted in no boot at all,,cause it has the boot file...
im stuck with a drive which i cannot format,,and if i do it , i cant boot windows 7...
1 thing i didnt try is to format xp drive with xp cd setup...it will result in no boot...and boot the pc with win7 cd and repair the boot sector....i don't know if it will work and i don't trust it...i dont want to lose my windows 7 setup as i have installed all my software and settings...
the fact that it is installed on a logical drive bothers me a lot! help?
My friend recently upgraded to 7 with my help. However i made the mistake of making it a logical partition. Once he deleted his old Vista partition, the system was unbootable. Now he needs a way to convert the logical partition to a primary one. I had him try use gparted live to convert it, but gparted doesnt have that option. My next idea was to run puppy off a USB and use a partition manager on that.
back to make my main partition (C: ) where I installed windows only 50gb big. What I wonder is, is it possible to decrease the second partition in size and move that extra size to the main partition without damaging data on both partitions?
I just built a new desktop, got a 60GB SSD to boot Windows7 (and maybe a couple applications) from, and a 1.5TB HDD for storage. I'm trying to change the default location of My Docs, Downloads, etc from the SSD to the HDD (maybe change the location of the whole User folder?) so that my SSD stays clean with just the necessities.My problem is that I can't access the right-click menu that allows you to change the default location.Note: When I first installed Windows 7, all of my SATA ports were in IDE mode. I was able to access the "change folder location" menu for My Docs, etc, at this time. I changed the SATA port with my SSD to AHCI mode, which really boosted the boot speed, but I couldn't access the menu anymore after that.

I have bought a new computer with Windows 7 Premium Home 64-bit OS pre-installed. I made the mistake of specifying my keyboard type as US during the initial setup. I need to change it to Japanese type. I followed the steps mentioned in documentation to select the desired keyboard type after clicking the Change Keyboard button on the Keyboard Settings window. But it did not work. I am unable to enter Japanese text through my keyboard.

I recently purchased a new motherboard. After reinstalling windows, I noticed that my primary partition is also on my Storage Drive. Is there a way to change it back to only the SSD?
I've had a Windows 7 PC that's motherboard recently broke so I have been trying to use the hard drive with another PC. The PC I'm trying to put it into has all Windows 7 compatible parts. I get to the starting windows screen and it restarts the computer and gives me the option to Launch Startup repair. I launched startup repair and it says that it cannot fix the problems automatically. I can hookup the hard drive as a secondary hard drive and access all of the files on it but I cannot make it primary it just wont boot. The computer that the hard drive originally came from did not include a recovery/install CD.
I bought a new 2 Tb hard drive because my primary one was getting full. I would like to do a fresh install on the primary drive once I have moved over all the games, videos, pictures, etc. that I don't want to lose. I can format the primary drive and reinstall windows without affecting the content on the second drive, correct? Is there anything I need to know?
My account was an administrator account, but since I made a Guest account then my admin account has been restricted as well and I cannot change the security settings nor through safe mode, nor built-in admin account and nor using netplwiz. There all always some files or folders that are not accessible. Unfortunately they are a lot.Also I tried everything while I removed the guest account but the problem still persist.
So I'm trying to change the icon of a particular file type. i.e., pdf icon is gone for some reason so I want to put one there. All i can find on the net is 'open up file types manager' but how it will be done? I am using Windows 7 x64 home premium.
