I have bought a new computer with Windows 7 Premium Home 64-bit OS pre-installed. I made the mistake of specifying my keyboard type as US during the initial setup. I need to change it to Japanese type. I followed the steps mentioned in documentation to select the desired keyboard type after clicking the Change Keyboard button on the Keyboard Settings window. But it did not work. I am unable to enter Japanese text through my keyboard.

My account was an administrator account, but since I made a Guest account then my admin account has been restricted as well and I cannot change the security settings nor through safe mode, nor built-in admin account and nor using netplwiz. There all always some files or folders that are not accessible. Unfortunately they are a lot. Also I tried everything while I removed the guest account but the problem still persist.

Because I've only found drivers for 32bits until now, and only for XP but it's not a problem, Windows 7 can still deal with them, the problem is just with the 64b part.

View 4 Replies View RelatedHow to Tell if Windows 7 is a 32-bit or 64-bit System Type ?
View 0 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded to Window 7 Home 64x from vista ultimate 32x. I also installed 8gb of RAM. I downloaded all the drivers/updates and everything was fine. Then, I entered in a System Password and an admin password in the set up menu since this hasnt been done previously.
Once I rebooted, it started its normal boot process but then brought me to a white screen that asked for the system or admin password. The problem is, there is no spot to enter the password. I typed it anyway and hit enter and I got "invalid password. hit enter to try again".No letters, or numbers are visible, but i know the keyboard works because it recognized the enter key. After three attempts, it says "hit enter to abort", and then it shuts down.
It wont recognize f2 or f12 when I first turn it on, so right now I cannot access anything. Just that white password screen. I have also tried a usb keyboard. Dell Inspiron 1545
I would like to know exactly how a boot Win-7 CD is to be created in both 32 bit and 64 bit versions. Also is there a way through which a 64 bit O.S can be run on a 32bit system??

View 3 Replies View RelatedAfter doing some Googling I discovered that it is impossible in Windows 7 to sort files by file extension -- one can only sort by file type, which depends on the file type description. This means that if I want to sort by file type, I need to rename the type descriptions of all my most commonly used files.
In addition, the only place where I can see a file's extension is in the file name itself, and not e.g. in the status bar when a file is selected. In Windows 7, the file type description (not the file extension) is also in the status bar.
In other words, in Windows 7 all files labelled e.g. "Opera Web Document" are sorted as if they have the same file type, regardless of whether they are .html, .htm, .mht, etc. And if I select a file and look at the status bar, the file's type is indicated as "Opera Web Document", without any clue as to the file extension. The only way for me to see the file extension is to increase the width of the "Name" column until the end of the file name becomes visible.
So... my question is:
Is there an easy way to simply rename the file type descriptions? I see that my JPG files are named "JPG File" and my PNG files are named "PNG" file, which is extremely useful. What I now want is to rename my HTML, HTM and MHT files' file types to "HTML File", "HTM File" and "MHT File", and the same would apply to all file types I often use (e.g. DOC, DOCX, XLS, XML, TXT, etc).
I found a few pix in my files that I want to edit with Photoshop. I can't open them in PS because they are Type 1 or Type 2. When I try to open them, PS says they are .jpg.1 or. jpg.2. How do I get rid of the .1 and .2 so they become normal JPG photo files?I can look at them with Windows Photo Viewer but I can't figure out how to convert them to normal JPG files.
