View 2 Replies View RelatedWindows 7 64bit / Dual Displays / Microsoft Wireless Entertainment Keyboard 7000? When I type the number 1 or 2, the application window I'm working on jumps to that screen (Browser, Word, Notepad, etcetera). Screen one is on the left, screen two is on the right. Doing it right now as I type this. In other words, if I'm typing in a MS Word document on display two, and I type the number "1", the window jumps to display one.Possible culprit: I purchased a StarTech 'USB2DVIE2' USB Display module that facilitates adding a third monitor via a USB connection. Didn't work well at all so I uninstalled the drivers.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Sony Vaio laptop running Windows 7. I switched it on this morning, got the usual login screen but without the welcome noise. I can't enter my password, the key strokes I'm entering just don't register on the screen. I've switched off and switched back on and no joy. I've gone to Safe Mode and just get the same problem, I can't type my password, the flashing cursor doesn't move in the password box. I've pressed F8 and tried to load the last good configuration but just get the same problem.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently spilled coffee on the key board of my Dell Inspiron 1545 Laptop and believe it shorted the keyboard. My mouse still works, so if I can get in, I will have no problems. Also, I tried connecting a USB keyboard and for some reason the keys don't work on that either. IE) both the laptop and the usb keyboard only have the backspace, and space bar that work.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy problems continue with Win 7's faulty 'file associations' subroutine. Have a friend with a new Toshiba Core i5 on which he has MS Office 2003 Professional fully installed, including PowerPoint. Three weeks ago, he complained that he could not open .pps files attached to e-mails, so he brought the computer to me. I opened the file associations subroutine, found .pps in the list of extensions, and ultimately (tha'ts another whole story) got MS PowerPoint registered as the default program to open such files.Today he claimed he got another e-mail with a .pps attachment, and could not open it, so brought the computer to me again. I don't know why he wasn't able to open it, because I called up the e-mail, clicked the .pps attachment and it opened perfectly. However, I opened the /Default Programs/Set Associations list and scrolled down to see what the .pps entry said was the current default.
View 2 Replies View Related[code] When I select Japanese from the Task Bar language setting, anything typed in the Japanese language is incorrect. That is, the kana characters that appear are not the ones I typed. The Japanese keyboard appears to be incorrect.I have read many forums about this problem and can only guess the Win7 version I have is not compatible with the language pack I installed. Is there any chance there is some app available for download that will solve this problem? Perhaps I should also ask if there is a Japanese word processor, free version preferred, available I could use?My basic need is to type in kana, that is hiragana and katagana.
