Dec 5, 2011I have bought a new computer with Windows 7 Premium Home 64-bit OS pre-installed. I made the mistake of specifying my keyboard type as US during the initial setup. I need to change it to Japanese type. I followed the steps mentioned in documentation to select the desired keyboard type after clicking the Change Keyboard button on the Keyboard Settings window. But it did not work. I am unable to enter Japanese text through my keyboard.

Jul 19, 2011I have a ten-year old Gateway PC. I had a crash and a local tech cleaned it up and installed a Spanish version of Windows XP Professional on the smaller C drive. That's fine for my son whose first language is Spanish. On the larger D drive, I upgraded to an English language Windows 7 Home Version. The problem is that although Windows' analysis for the upgrade okayed it, there is just not enough memory to power it. A major pain is that I can't change the screen resolution and some pages open too large for the screen such that I can't even get to the X or a Close button and have to use another method to get out of the page.I have two Windows XP discs and would like to replace the Windows 7 with Windows XP on my D drive. Before I try to figure it out myself and do something stupid like formatting the D drive, I'd like some advice. The two drives seem to be independent such that I had to put Corel Word Perfect on each drive so we both could write on our respective drives.

Jul 23, 2012I found a few pix in my files that I want to edit with Photoshop. I can't open them in PS because they are Type 1 or Type 2. When I try to open them, PS says they are .jpg.1 or. jpg.2. How do I get rid of the .1 and .2 so they become normal JPG photo files?I can look at them with Windows Photo Viewer but I can't figure out how to convert them to normal JPG files.

But i can't replace it because windows 7 isn't allowing me to do it because of lack of rights. wich i should have since im the only user on my computer and with fully administrative rights.

Dec 22, 2012the hard drive failed on my laptop so have got a new one and I had 2 system image back ups.When I tried to reinstall the most recent one it did not find it from the external hard drive.So I installed the old system image.In the new one I am able to mount the .vhd file in Disk Management and see it is the exact same size as my c: drive.Is it possible to replace the contents of of my c: drive with the .vhd contents?

I've tried searching on my Win 7 dvd with no luck. It would obviously be preferable to replace the corrupt MUI rather than just the dll or exe, in case corruption happens again. I was under the impression that sfc /scannow would scan the dvd if it couldn't find a clean MUI and replace from there, but maybe not?

Nov 21, 2012I have been using a registry cleaner that has removed some system keys. The computer runs most stuff okay, but I am getting some failures on things like the window that used to come up and ask what to do when I plugged in a usb. Researching this is how I found that some registry keys were missing. I have been trying to get to the install / repair the exsisting winows part of the install cd that comes up when installing the program. I did it once before, but haven't been abble to get there again. I am not talking about the first repair options that come up at first, like restore from a restore point or from a system image. It's the one that comes up during the install process where you can choose a drive and format. The repair choice in that section uses the install cd and not a backed up file. The registry cleaner I was using did back up the registry every time it was run, but replaced it with the new back up each time. and the system image was replaced a few days ago, so no help. By the way, I no longer use the registry cleaner
