I think my right-clicker on my laptop keyboard is either damaged or something's lodged under it that's causing it to stick. Does anyone know how I might be able to safely remove the clicker without damaging it to see what the problem might be?
I've been playing some games and every time I press the mute, decrease and increase volumes always disconnects me from the games or bring me out of the game like Alt + F4. It use to be fine, but I think the reason is, because of the volume display bar pops up. Is there a way to remove it or you can solve my problem without removing it?
[SOLVED] I went to Control Panel > User Accounts and Family Safety > User Accounts > Change User Account Control settings and set it to the second notch.
A Compaq Presario CQ62 Laptop running windows 7. I accidentally spilled wine on it and the keyboard no longer worked.I purchased a Microsoft wired desktop 600, but it has no function keys. On the original keyboard I used Fn E12 to connect to a network, but with the new keyboard I can no longer connect to a network. There must be a workaround?
my daughter pressed a couple of keys earlier and now my laptop keyboard isnt working properly. It is really strage because a few keys are working but not in thier usual function. My partner logged out so now i am sat at a login screen and cant key in a password. The on screen keyboard is behaving the same way which is very odd! Any suggestions? I have only had it 3 weeks and have had no problems it's been great. My mrs said she was trying to type in a website and windows kept popping up when she typed, and then she logged out.
I am attempting to uninstall (and then reinstall) Office 2010 Prof Plus. I am not able to remove it from Add/Remove programs, have read through some help info and attempted to use the Windows Fixit, Revo & Ripoutoffice2007, none of which have removed it (Revo didn't take it out and then pulled up a million 'left over' files, none of which I deleted).
Does anyone know how to remove the "safely remove hardware" icon in the taskbar? I do not mean hide it. I have my icons always show in the notification area because I don't like the arrow icon either.
I have a laptop HP PAVILION tx2550er. After installing AMD AHCI driver in the system tray shows the Safely Remove Hardware icon (my hard drive). How to remove (not hide!) the icon?
Alright. So I finally got my new computer and slapped Windows 7 Pro x64 on it. Since my case has a slot to plug in an external drive, I used AHCI-mode to support hot-swapping. (And yes, I actually will use it)
Unfortunately, this has caused the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon to appear continuously in the system tray - giving me the option to eject my system drive. Being the minimalist I am, this useless icon annoys me to no end. Is there any way to tell windows not to add the HDD to the safely remove hardware menu (and thus make the menu disappear when there's no other devices)? I've been looking around and can't find any solutions.
I am NOT looking to disable the safely remove hardware entirely - I still want it to show up for other devices, just not the system drive. Also, I don't want to just hide it with the expand/collapse menu - call me picky.
How can i remove JUST the program from the list, without actually uninstalling it?Ive tried going toHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionUninstall but i cannot find the program i want to do this to.
So I just installed Windows 7 Professional 64-bit on my Sony Vaio VGN-FZ240E Laptop. Everything installed okay and worked just fine until I restarted it for the first time to update my touchpad drivers. After I restarted, my keyboard would not function and Sony provides no drivers for it on their website. Sony also makes it clear that they do not support a Windows 7 upgrade on my model(which is slightly ridiculous, but whatever...).
It's an Intel Core 2 duo, so I know it's 64-bit capable and everything WAS working the first time I installed it. I have no clue what to do, but my laptop keyboard is slightly useless, which poses a big problem, lol. If there is anyone out there with advice, I would greatly appreciate it!
What Keyboard do you like to use, do you have a favourite ?, I use a Logitech G15 on my main Computer and a Chicony KU 0418 on my second Computer, i use these two Computers the most and all in all i prefer the G15, so what do you use ?
I have strange unusual problem with my on-screen keyboard. When I try to open(run) osk.exe from any location even from shortcut instead of poping out a on-screen keyboard the menu start on windows7 is opening again. what action to take to open the real keyborad not start menu?
1: Screensaver does not seem to kick in when it should (at all) I am updating my wireless MS 5ooo driver, that did the trick in Vista not allowing the screensaver to kick in....hope that works, or anybody else notice this too?
2: I am looking fo an HP multimedia keyboard driver to use so I can use the buttons to open my cd drawers, etc.... keyboard model kb-0630
My laptop seems to have problems with most USB devices. It is running Win 7 professional 64 bit. Firstly it will only take a HP external keyboard. I have tried a Microsoft KB and a Kensington KB and neither would work. A standard mouse will work OK. Then I tried to use a Plantronic BUA200 BT dongle. Had one working after about 2 days of fiddling, then got a new one and it sits with a yellow triangle saying it needs a driver, but can't find any. The odd thing is the dongle will still pair with the headset. So I bought a USB headset today and gets the same thing. Windows tries to install it, but says it fails to find the drivers. Have run Windows update twice recently, so that is all up to date. USB flash drives seem to be OK.
I just got my Windows 7 upgrade kit in the mail today. When I got to the Compatibility Report, it told me this:
"These devices might not work properly after the upgrade. Before upgrading, we recommend updating the drivers for these devices. Cancel the upgrade, open Control Panel and search for "update device drivers", or go to the device manufacturer's website to search for updated drivers." Keyboard Filter And
"These programs might not work properly after the upgrade. We recommend uninstalling these programs before upgrading. Cancel the upgrade, open Control Panel, and search for "uninstall a program". (Note: Programs marked as * can be safely reinstalled after the upgrade.)" HP MediaSmart Music/Photo/Video * iTunes (Please deauthorize computer prior to upgrade) Agatha Christie - Death on the Nile * Bejeweled 2 Deluxe * Chuzzle Deluxe * Slingo Deluxe * Wedding Dash * Zuma Deluxe *
I'm afraid to continue the upgrade because I don't know what's going to happen or how it's going to affect the programs and devices. Should I just go ahead and uninstall everything listed in the second message? And how do I update the driver for the Keyboard Filter? I don't really know what I'm doing.
i have installed 7100 on two machine... one is Dell XPS, one is sotec... These are Japanese machine, so i have japanese keyboard.
On dell machine, i can use the keyboard as it is, i mean, the keyboard layout is japanese layout... (ie:the @ symbol is not on top of no 2.)..
but i cannot make the same on sotec machine, eventough i have set the same setting as the other machine. When i choose the Japanese keyboard layout, and click preview, it show the normal US layout.
I have been wondering about this one since the first beta. In your default docs link is (well if your running it in "display as menu") a notes sub dir. There are a lot of cool little apps here. Journal , reminder,to do etc. I'm sure you all know this. What I have never been able to find is a way to switch these out of pen mode. Don't have touchpad, do not plan on getting one. Hate them. However these are utilitys I would like to utilize. Is this jus t for pen/touch screens? Is their @ least a reg hack?
I have a Compaq 615 running Windows 7. Recently, I have heard a beeping sound that isnt too disimiliar to the BIOS beeps on start up. However, this can be heard when the OS is running.
There is no set pattern to the beeps. It can occasionally be 2-3 beeps very close together but is mostly just one beep. It is starting to worry me a little.
Here are a list of things I've done to try and resolve already:
Remove an USB devices that have been plugged in Clean the keyboard with compressed air incase this was caused by a stuck key Ran system check Cleaned up the C-Drive Ran a HDD check from booting up Checked eventvwr
I had this issue with the Windows 7 beta and the RC. and with both i ended up just going back to vista hoping it would be figured out by RTM. The issue i have is.....
I can be typing anything really and all the sudden the cursor will just move somewhere within the sentence i am typing in. It gets very annoying and i cannot figure out why its doing that or how to fix it.
If it makes any difference i have a dell m1530 laptop. and NO my palm isint hitting the mouse pad and causing it to move.
I've spent countless hours looking for solutions on google and i can't fix it.My HTPC can go in S3 standby mode successfully. BUT the only way to wake my computer is to press the power button. When i wake it up, it starts where it was before so S3 mode is working. Problem is just waking it up.The weirdest thing is that it USED to work. Around 2 months ago i was waking up my computer with my keyboard and it worked. But i stopped to use this feature, and now that i need it, it isn't working anymore.
Oh, also wake-on-LAN isn't working neither. And it also used to be working 2 months ago. I really don't know what happenned. Here's a couple of screenshots. Sorry my windows is in french, but i'll translate the text for you:
I run Win 7 and added Dutch so now a lot is in dutch (help excluded).
Allas the keyboard is changed to dutch.
Tried to remove that keyboard, no luck.
How do I tell Win Seven that my default keyboard is USA international.
In Region it is the first keyboard, but if for instance I go to CMD, it is changed to Dutch. I can ofcourse klik on the keyboard icon and set it back to USA.
But I would like Windows Seven to forget the dutch keyboard, I do not have one.
I installed Windows 7 last week. Ever since I am having issues of the calendar/clock window opening, the page randomly scrolling down, a window minimizing or the cursor disappearing whenever I am typing. It happens when I am typing in a search on the internet, typing in my blog, writing an email, commenting on FB or IMing a friend. It has happened several times during typing this post. It is really annoying me.
It is obviously some kind of short cut issue but I am not typing any of the known shortcuts while I am trying to do anything I mentioned above. The one shortcut I have identified as causing problems is the space bar. Pressing the space bar caused my browser (or Word doc or whatever) scroll to the bottom. I really just want to put a space in NOT scroll. Is anyone else having this problem? How can I fix it. I can barely type a sentence without something happening that shouldn't.
My pc has been working very well. While I was sleeping yesterday there was a thunderstorm. The pc first appeared ok, but upon typing a bad problem became apparent. The Logitech usb keyboard was producing extra characters. I thought the keyboard had been damaged by the storm so I powered down and rebooted with a HP ps2 keyboard in place of the Logitech usb keyboard. The HP keyboard also produces double characters, but the corrupt keys are different keys than the corrupt keys on the Logitech keyboard. [code] I see a pattern here in that the letters all relate exactly to the row below and then the row above. Also, I use the GOM player for video files. The spacebar is PAUSE, but it is also opening up some shortcut in the GOM player. This keyboard - the HP pci wasn't pluuged into anything during the storm. I have gone into Regions and Settings to verify all is standard U.S.. I also went back 3 days and did a System Restore to see if it would help, it didn't.Do you know how I might stop this corrupt double character problem? If I only need a new keyboard, great, but since it is malfunctioning with 2 different keyboards that doesn't seem likely to me.
my usb keyboard works fine on my freind pc win7ultimate32bit, i have same os service pack 1 also installed, my usb is amkette company---better than local, Problemis that it was working grt for 5 months, but for past 3 weeks it is detected as a unknown device, it is detected sometimes as hid device and works well for 3-4 hoursbut then suddenly goes off and a popup with malfunction and unknown device appers all time, then it will never that day maybe 10 min sometime. i plug out all power cables, uninstall usb controllers tried everything on internet, some techniques work but no permanent solution. i even reinstalled windows last week no luck.It works on my freind pc., diff in my freind pc is he has intel motherboard and i have biostar a785ge everything up to date, only solution that is left is to use a ps/2 to usb convertor(i have to wait for 3 weeks).
I have a Samsung Q430, 64bit Laptop. A few days ago i got a blue screen so i didnt think much of it so i just restarted my computer. I didnt notice it for awhile but all my number keys with the exception of 3,4,6,8,0 now do not work.Things ive tried: Restoring computer to factory default, Updating keyboard driver and Running Virus and Malware scans. Its quite frustrating, i dont kno what to do now? Seeing how i have a factory restored computer & my number keys are still not responding.
I have a Samsung R580 which has a chiclet style keyboard. They keyboard is great and all but dirt just gets stuck under they keys. I want to get out all debris out if the keyboard without actually taking apart all the keys.
A few days ago my keyboard stopped working. I believe I was uninstalling VMWare, which did not complete (but I don't know if that has any effect on it). I obviously tried the batteries, different keyboards to make sure it wasn't something simple. I tried plugging in to different USB ports (which all recognize the keyboard and installs the drivers) but it simply does not recognize the characters that I type. I have a several different keyboards that I have tried and I can not get them to work on the computer. The mouse works fine, and the volume and calculator key's work, along with the function keys. Everything else on the keyboard does not work. I have uninstalled all the hubs, re-installed driver's, which show the keyboard is installed (with no ! or error). I have ran out of options to consider, I am about to delete all the registry keys regarding the keyboards. I have been using the onscreen keyboard to login.I have both Logitech and Microsoft keyboards and installed and uninstalled Setpoint, Intellitype.
