Dec 8, 2012I was randomly playing a game, then all of a sudden my keyboard started typing weirdly. Eg. when i type a, e appears and when i type e, L appears. I went on control panel and the keyboard was still set to "English (United States) - US" and the language was still set to English. I tried pressing Ctrl + Shift and that didn't help either, no matter how many times i pressed it.

Dec 6, 2012I've have this issue every since I've upgraded to windows 7 from windows vista 6 months ago. I've switched my HDD to a SSD and reinstalled windows 7 and yet it still at random times spam types the numberpad 6 non stop like 6666666. It can go on for a while like 10 to 20 minute and it stops until the next random time it decides to do it again. Restarting computer stops it for a minute or 2 and starts again. All I can do is turn off the numberpad button but it will spam the right arrow key of that 6 button, basically it's the number pad 6 that's causing the problem.
I've switched 3 usb keyboards brand new ones since this been happening so it isn't keyboard issue. I've been looking online for this issue and found no famililar issues on this. I am starting to wonder if it's because of my motherboard, cpu, rams, or any hardware failure besides the harddive and keyboard that's doing this. Currently I am using a coolermaster quick rapid pro keyboard and a razer naga mouse. My computer is a dell inspirion.Also I have Norton 360 and I've scan my pc many of times but it doesn't show any sign of virus. Reinstalled windows as well. Could it be also be rootkits?

Sep 13, 2012After pressing any character on my keyboard (except Shift, Ctrl, Alt, or Fn) I can't left or right click for 1 second afterward. The computer simply does not register the fact that I clicked. This would be no big deal except I am making a game that requires using the keyboard and mouse together. I have not had this problem while working on my game until an hour or so ago.

I cannot backspace quick enough at times to keep it from appearing. Also...I keep hearing the annoying "default beep" (windows ding). What are the chances that both keyboards I've used are faulty?? Mar 28, 2012After doing some Googling I discovered that it is impossible in Windows 7 to sort files by file extension -- one can only sort by file type, which depends on the file type description. This means that if I want to sort by file type, I need to rename the type descriptions of all my most commonly used files.
In addition, the only place where I can see a file's extension is in the file name itself, and not e.g. in the status bar when a file is selected. In Windows 7, the file type description (not the file extension) is also in the status bar.
In other words, in Windows 7 all files labelled e.g. "Opera Web Document" are sorted as if they have the same file type, regardless of whether they are .html, .htm, .mht, etc. And if I select a file and look at the status bar, the file's type is indicated as "Opera Web Document", without any clue as to the file extension. The only way for me to see the file extension is to increase the width of the "Name" column until the end of the file name becomes visible.
So... my question is:
Is there an easy way to simply rename the file type descriptions? I see that my JPG files are named "JPG File" and my PNG files are named "PNG" file, which is extremely useful. What I now want is to rename my HTML, HTM and MHT files' file types to "HTML File", "HTM File" and "MHT File", and the same would apply to all file types I often use (e.g. DOC, DOCX, XLS, XML, TXT, etc).

In normal windows everything is fine, but in Java and Silverlight/WPF programs (including VS2010 and logmein) "sometimes" typing letters will enter numbers in sequence.
