After pressing any character on my keyboard (except Shift, Ctrl, Alt, or Fn) I can't left or right click for 1 second afterward. The computer simply does not register the fact that I clicked. This would be no big deal except I am making a game that requires using the keyboard and mouse together. I have not had this problem while working on my game until an hour or so ago.

For instance, if I press Shift, and then 2 to get an @, I get a quotation mark on the monitor. Pressing the shift and quotation mark gives me an @. This thing is made in China. Is it wired wrong or do they not know English?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just noticed for the first time after 2+ years of using Windows 7.I have all sorts of shortcuts I use that are just stuck in my memory from older versions of Win. Right click + W + F = new folder.Right click + W + T = new text doc.I just noticed however, that in the right click menu, the shortcut letters aren't underlined anymore like they were in older versions.for example, New used to be written New. For me this is not a huge deal since I already know most of them but why would MS intentionally remove a helpful feature like that (especially while leaving the functionality in)? A new user will have no way of knowing that shortcut exists without seeing the underlined letters.The only reason I'm noticing now, after so long, is because I'm learning Ubuntu/Linux and noticed they do have the underlined letters in their GUI, and then coming back to Win I noticed they don't.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm on a Lenovo Thinkpad T530 laptop that's about four months old. I had a key pop off and Lenovo shipped me a new keyboard, so I replaced it myself. Since then, I've had issues where every 20-30 minutes, the left click will start clicking on its own (the key is not stuck, it is not a physical hardware issue).Obviously, I figured that the problem came from the new keyboard (since I had the computer for three months with no problem before I replaced the keyboard). So I took the keyboard out, cleaned the inside of the computer and the pin connections with some compressed air, checked to make sure there wasn't any visible damage (nothing crushed, bent, or missing as far I can tell) and then put it all back together again. No luck, the problem persists. Just in case it isn't keyboard-related (doubtful) I am running a full system virus scan using MSE as I'm typing this, but I really think that there's something wrong with this keyboard. I uninstalled and reinstalled the PS/2 keyboard drivers and Synaptic touchpad drivers, to no avail.

I ask this as i use some software for graphic work & it requires to right click & hold for long periods whilst performing other functions to get the desired affect but if i could simple mouse over & press capslock on it would do the click & hold for me so i can do what i wanted to to & then turn capslock off to release the button effect.

I created an account just to ask you guys this, I cant solve it.Every time I click my mouse, left or right click, it cancels the current keyboard action. Where this is most annoying is when Im using WASD to move around in-game, and then clicking the mouse in stops my character from moving. I need to hit the keyboard button back in after I have clicked to start moving again and usually thats the difference between staying alive and respawning.My mouse is a Razer Mamba, as well as a Gigabyte GM-M7600 wireless mouse and keyboard, and a Razer Lycosa Keyboard as well. Ive tried all of these devices, in different usb ports. And I've tried a wired mouse as well and that didnt solve the problem either. I've reinstalled mouse drivers, reinstalled keyboard drivers, disabled and re-enabled each mouse individually, and nothing works.

I used the 'year' field and gave it a date in this format. 2007/05/22. I could then sort properly. In Windows 7, however, when I add 'year' column to the properties and look at the same files, I only see 2007, not the full date. When I try to edit the 'year' field, Windows responds with 'unacceptable character', probably referring to theI can do without the / (20070522), but I do need the full date, not just the year.
View 4 Replies View RelatedBit of a strange one this, so I wasn't sure where to put it. I have a bunch of mp3 files given to me by my brother in law in Russia. The filenames and metadata are mostly in Russian. My machine is running W7 Home Premium 64 bit. As you can see from the screenshot, the actual file and folder names are showing up fine in Cyrillic but the metadata is being mangled into gibberish: the same thing happens in Windows media player, VLC and Foobar2000.
I assume this is something to do with the character encoding of the metadata, but is it possible to change it, preferably in a batch operation?

Occasionally (yes occasionally, this does not happen all the time) , my computer would just turn "unresponsive" when I attempt to shut it down. To describe it, the computer just would not respond to the shutdown/restart command, and in a while my computer's theme would just change to the CLASSIC THEME(sometimes it wont, but most of the time yes), which I have no idea why. If i were to try to put it to sleep, the computer would just go to sleep and would not respond to any of my computer's commands if i try to turn it on, which renders me no choice but to force it to power off by cutting the power supply directly.To further describe it, I am still able to move my mouse, open up the start menu, type in stuff in the search bar, but i would be unable to open up any programs.So far I have been encountering this for quite a few times and I have no idea how to rectify it. I basically just power off whenever I encounter such situations. Anyone here knows how do I stop this?

I tried pressing F8, F10, Ctrl + F's buttons and it won't work.I installed currently my other copy of plain windows 7 on it so the laptop works. So, my question is how I can get to the recovery mode? I do't have any option in this windows to start recovery. View 9 Replies View RelatedI recently got hit by a virus on my new pc. PC's that I have owned in the past I would boot into safe mode and fix. However, when I restart to hit f8, I do not see the BIOS. I know the computer brings it up b/c it doesn't boot into Windows 7. So I booted into Windows 7 normal, went to msconfig and told it to boot safely. I got no display at all now after rebooting. I can't get back into Windows 7 nor see the BIOS, or Safe Mode. I have tried more than one monitor. I do have dual graphics cards, so I do not know if that is causing the conflict or not.

I've downloaded the most recent driver & searched for a solution online but haven't found anyone who has fixed this issue. Did everyone just give up or am I not patient enough & haven't dug deep enough. If I use a USB mouse there are no problems it just seems to be with the built-in after I've used the USB mouse.
