Tried Pressing F8, F10, Ctrl + F's Buttons And It Won't Work?
Nov 17, 2012I have Dell i15-2591 with windows 7. The problem that I have is that I can't restore it factory settings. I tried pressing F8, F10, Ctrl + F's buttons and it won't work.I installed currently my other copy of plain windows 7 on it so the laptop works. So, my question is how I can get to the recovery mode? I do't have any option in this windows to start recovery. When I press F8 button it's showing me the repair your computer mode but there is no option to restore to Dell settings, just options for the windows that I currently have.

Jan 25, 2012my Synaptics touchpad mouse has had a mind of its own. It has been clicking and opening files without me pressing the mouse buttons or tapping the touchpad,scrolling by itself, highlighting and moving the files on my desktop and in my computer, etc.I have tried everything from physically cleaning the Touchpad thoroughly, updating the Synaptics driver time and time again only to find no resolution to this issue, I have also uninstalled and reinstalled previous versions of the synaptics drivers that worked before with my laptop only to be confronted with this same problem.I have ran scans on both Uni-blue registry booster and PC Tools Spyware Doctor (which I use as my registry and anti-virus/spyware programs) and of which I update on a daily/weekly basis and yet I have found no traces of what may be causing my mouse to act so crazy.I have also ran the system scan in the command prompt which was suggested earlier in this thread only to find out that everything was running properly and at 100% integrity.
I have an HP dv7-3065dx Entertainment Notebook [pavilion dv7 is the product name on the back] that I purchased from Best buy in 2010. I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit that was pre-installed onto my laptop. I have been pretty thorough on keeping all of my Microsoft and HP drivers up to date and have only began to experience this problem with my touchpad earlier this month. As far as the programs that I use on a daily basis; I mostly use Mozilla Firefox as a web browser and Microsoft Word for my schoolwork and the GOM media player for watching videos. None of which I have been able to do properly since this issue established itself onto my computer.
After Pressing Any Character On Keyboard Can't Click For 1 Second
Sep 13, 2012After pressing any character on my keyboard (except Shift, Ctrl, Alt, or Fn) I can't left or right click for 1 second afterward. The computer simply does not register the fact that I clicked. This would be no big deal except I am making a game that requires using the keyboard and mouse together. I have not had this problem while working on my game until an hour or so ago.

May 22, 2012've been using a keyboard, that i bought in Albania, really cheap price, low profile keyboard named ACME. Nov 9, 2009Just reinstalled windows 7 this weekend together with new hardware. But i have encountered some problems, both with sound and keyboard. On my keyboard which is a Logitech Ultra X (Ultra X) i have some buttons at the top, like Media, play/pause, www, email and mute. These have been working earlier on both windows xp and vista, but now they are not working. Very frustrating as i use them very often.
Do any of you guys in here have any idea about how this may be fixed?

Mar 1, 2012I just received a new keyboard today: Thermaltake Challenger Ultimate. I went from a Logitech G15.
First thing I did was connect the keyboard and install the software that came along on the CD, it probably also installed the correct drivers. First after this did I uninstall the software and drivers from the old Logitech G15. But before that, and now after, the volume buttons on my new keyboard is still not adjusting the volume when I press them.

Sep 26, 2012Lately I have been facing this problem of mine that is bugging me for probably a month of so. Occasionally (yes occasionally, this does not happen all the time) , my computer would just turn "unresponsive" when I attempt to shut it down. To describe it, the computer just would not respond to the shutdown/restart command, and in a while my computer's theme would just change to the CLASSIC THEME(sometimes it wont, but most of the time yes), which I have no idea why. If i were to try to put it to sleep, the computer would just go to sleep and would not respond to any of my computer's commands if i try to turn it on, which renders me no choice but to force it to power off by cutting the power supply directly.To further describe it, I am still able to move my mouse, open up the start menu, type in stuff in the search bar, but i would be unable to open up any programs.So far I have been encountering this for quite a few times and I have no idea how to rectify it. I basically just power off whenever I encounter such situations. Anyone here knows how do I stop this?

Jul 14, 2012I recently got hit by a virus on my new pc. PC's that I have owned in the past I would boot into safe mode and fix. However, when I restart to hit f8, I do not see the BIOS. I know the computer brings it up b/c it doesn't boot into Windows 7. So I booted into Windows 7 normal, went to msconfig and told it to boot safely. I got no display at all now after rebooting. I can't get back into Windows 7 nor see the BIOS, or Safe Mode. I have tried more than one monitor. I do have dual graphics cards, so I do not know if that is causing the conflict or not.

My computer repeatedly shuts down on me. Yesterday it must have shut down on me 20 times. My virus and malware scans come out clean. It usually goes to a menu asking me if I want to start the computer normally or in safe mode. However sometimes, I have to run start-up repair and sometimes I get a blue screen. The problem is the blue screen doesn't stay up long enough for me to write down error codes or anything else it says.
Drive D: Disappears Repeatedly?
Jun 11, 2012I have a Sony VAIO laptop running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit with a single 500 GB hard drive. A year ago, when the computer was new, I used a free partition manager program (Partition Wizard maybe?) to allocate about 60 GB for drive C: which holds Windows 7 and all of my software apps. I allocated the rest of the free space to D: for all of my data files. Sony also has a 13GB recovery partition and a 100 MB System Reserved partition which preceed C: and D: on the hard drive.
Three days ago, when I booted the computer for the day, drive D: was gone. Disk Management showed free, unallocated space equal to the size of my missing drive D:. Using Sony live chat support, the technician used Disk Management to allocate the 400 GB of free space to D: and formatted the partition. I then restored my missing data from a backup.The next day I booted my computer and drive D: was gone again. Disk Management again shows free, unallocated space equal to the size of my missing drive D:.
I have no third-party disk management software installed. Recent changes to my system include:
1) SmartSync Software recently downloaded a new version of SmartSync Pro (version 4.0) to my hard drive.
2) I ran Disk Cleanup on drive C:

Sep 24, 2011I have a Toshiba L305 Satellite laptop.It had windows vista OS. I tried to upgrade it to windows 7 but the upgrade was unsuccessful and a message was displayed on a windows 7 background that it would revert back to the older OS. It kept rebooting every time and shutting down with display of this message. Since the computer was not working anyways I took this as an opportunity to disassemble the system and clean it inside out as I had'nt cleaned it since I bought the system. After assembling back the system,, when I boot the system the computer after the POST displays the same message and shuts down but the difference this time being it does'nt reboot back on its own.When I start the system the second time it shuts down much quicker many seconds even before the message display.The same keeps repeating everytime. Booting for a a minute or two the forst time followed by a shutdown and then after rebooting shutting down much quicker time. What could be the problem PSU or excess heat at the CPU.
