've been using a keyboard, that i bought in Albania, really cheap price, low profile keyboard named ACME. My PC Have been screwed up by it somehow.. i think, as now i cant press serval buttons on my Keyboard.I can't Press ENTER Anymore on my laptop keyboard, neither ''L'' and serval more buttons, which make it pointless to use my laptop now..I'm currently going back to norway, and i am leaving the low profile KB here, and i'd love to make the keyboard work 100% Again?I'm not sure why, but it does not let me press enter, or L, it ignores it, like it dosent even effect anything..I've got aHP Pavilion dv6 Laptop, windows 7, x64.-- The problem came up after i took out the keyboard, and my pc was shutten off.. now i cant use the laptop keyboard 100%, only 70% as most of the buttons dont even work
I am completely stumped as my keyboard has gone haywire and am quite annoyed i cant fix itAm running windows 7 on toshiba satellite pro laptop and was wondering if its a software or perhaps hardware issue. Here is what is happening:- Caps lock light doesnt stay on anymore but it flashes when i press it. It does still work properly though- Left SHIFT key still works but when i press it.....it also creates this symbol ~ at the same time within UK keyboard. If i change to US keyboard then it enters the PIPE symbol.- The ~ key above the tab key actually does this And the pipe key which is above the Enter key types this: #7
Just reinstalled windows 7 this weekend together with new hardware. But i have encountered some problems, both with sound and keyboard. On my keyboard which is a Logitech Ultra X (Ultra X) i have some buttons at the top, like Media, play/pause, www, email and mute. These have been working earlier on both windows xp and vista, but now they are not working. Very frustrating as i use them very often.
Do any of you guys in here have any idea about how this may be fixed?
My keyboard has some really annoying buttons that open up my email, browser, dvd player, and calculator and I accidentally click them a lot. Is there a way I can permanently disable these buttons? I don't see any options under keyboard in my control panel. What other methods might there be?
I cannot control the volume on my laptop using the volume buttons on the keyboard. The only one that works is the mute button. How do I get those to work? (the laptop is new)
The keys on my friend's laptop running Windows 7 x64 are directly working as shortcuts..!!! i.e if u press R on home screen directly RUN Dialog Box opens and hence it's become a head ache as we're unable to use the keyboard normally..!!! How to restore normal operation of the keys..??
On powering up the blue circle behind the cursor pulses regularly together with the thumbnail and blue header which pulse alternatively and I cannot use the keyboard during one of these pulse cycles which occur about every 3 seconds which makes it impossible to type anything! I have 'solved' this occasionally by taking battery out, disconnecting power and opening in Safemode and then closing down and rebooting normally but there is no clear pattern to resolve this except to leave the machine permanently powered up - which works until the next Windows update and off we go again.
just the touchpad. My problem is that sometimes, my cursor will just...jam. Like, stick in some spot on the screen. When it does that, my keyboard will also go dead, and nothing seems to revive it (holding down Ctrl+Alt+Del does nothing; nor does the Esc button). The thing is, though, activity still remains on screen. It's not like that part of it freezes up. For example, I've had it happen to me when I was on Twitter, and yet new tweets came in. And today, when I was filming myself with my webcam, it happened and I was still able to see myself moving in the webcam -- yet I couldn't do anything with the cursor or the keyboard.
My keyboard has been not working properly. After 1 automatic update from Windows in October, I was unable to use my keyboard or the touchpad unless I went to the keyboard function window and adjusted the blink speed of the cursor. Afterwards, I could at least type.
I have since deleted the driver and reinstalled it, rather it was reinstalled automatically on restart. It has given me use of the touchpad, but now some of the buttons are not associated properly. I intend to type an L and a 3 comes out.
I know this has been asked over and over. But the answers are many and I am just not sure what I should do. I have a Toshiba Satellite that I just purchased, 4 GB and an AMD quad core processor.I thought the problem seemed to occur after Windows updates but now I am not sure. It just seems to happen intermittently.Essentially, no icons load to the desktop, no other software seems to load.
I'm using Intel Core 2 Duo 2.8Ghz 2GB RAM, Win7 64bit, 160GB HDD, Geforce 9400GT.
Recently my PC is getting stuck for no reason. While browsing, watching a movie, when I leave it idle for a while its getting stuck. Screen is as it was and I cannot move the cursor, keyboard isn't working. Then I restart it manually and go to the option "start windows normally" or something. This happened previously and I thought it has smthin to do with my HDD, but I checked it n re installed win7 64bit. It was working normally for about 3 months and now it started again.
I just received a new keyboard today: Thermaltake Challenger Ultimate. I went from a Logitech G15.
First thing I did was connect the keyboard and install the software that came along on the CD, it probably also installed the correct drivers. First after this did I uninstall the software and drivers from the old Logitech G15. But before that, and now after, the volume buttons on my new keyboard is still not adjusting the volume when I press them.
A speaker-icon like this shows up when I press the volume buttons, so its not that the keys are not working: (ignore the text behind it, its me writing an assignment)
Recently, my computer always had BSOD. It started with a freeze on my computer, cursors are not moving, suddenly the screen go blank and BSOD! I have already attached the minidump file. I don't know if this is related, but a few days ago, I updated my display driver from optional updates from Windows Update, I think the BSODs start after this. Then, I tried to install the driver from ATI website, still had the blue screen, reinstall the display driver, still had it.
I'm using Google Chrome and when loading theverge.com, my cursor consistently freezes for a few seconds before resuming normal movement later. What is causing such freezes?
I can still hear the sound (I was listening to music on iTunes the first time and the second time I was watching a movie on VLC) ctrl+alt+del works, (when I choose cancel, the screen goes blank) I can log off and everything's fine when I log back in. This happened twice within past two hours... when I was listening to music and watching movie in the background... and it happened when I was typing details of a mp3 file's properties...
Lately I have problems with my pc, sometimes the windows blocks/freeze and I must restart from the button; this happens like 1 time in 3 hours or 1 time in 7 days, it's random. The image freeze even if the pc is in idle. I have found another problem, the mouse cursor freeze for 2 sec (the image doesn't freeze, only the cursor), and after it's coming back to normal. I tried with several mouse's. I tried with another HDD and I have the same problem..
Periodically, lately it's at least daily, my mouse cursor freezes and the computer becomes unresponsive requiring cold boot. This sometimes happens even before I log on if I boot up and don't log on then come back later, the mouse may be frozen. It also happens while in idle and screen saver is running. I was running in Safe Mode w/ Networking today and it also happened. The mouse I was using was a MS Wireless Mouse 5000.
That one would just freeze. I accidentally destroyed it and am now using a MS Wireless ARC mouse instead. The only difference I notice is that the ARC mouse will occasionally pause the cursor in a spot for a second or two and then continue. However, it also will eventually freeze and lock system. Not sure how to identify where the problem is. I've updated the NVIDIA driver recently to the latest one.
i've been experiencing some issues with mouse and keyboard lately. Both of them randomly freezes for a couple of seconds and then just come back normal. Anyway, i tried to ignore this for a couple of days but now when they freeze, they won't come back and i have to reboot the computer manually.I've tried starting windows through safe mode. It still freezed but for a second this time. I'd be so glad if you guys could show me to fix this problem.
i want to reinstall my windows 7. i made the cd already. the problem is, when it is asking me to press a button to boot from cd,my keyboard freezes.i cant press anything with it.i can choose the disc in the booting menu, but cant do anything with it.
It freezes, and sometimes when I wake it from sleep mode, the monitor light just blinks on and off but the monitor itself does not come on. I look at my mouse and keyboard, which are illuminated and notice there is no light meaning they are not detected by my tower. I try many ports and still no response. I reboot my PC a few times, then it works. I have never ever had this kind of issue before.ere are my specs:X6 1055T Thuban 2.8GHz Socket AM3GIGABYTE GA-890FXA-UD5 AM3 AMD 890FX SATA 6Gb/sG.SKILL F3-12800CL6D-4GBPI Pi Series 4GB 2X2GB DDR3-1600 CL6-8-6-24Coolermaster Silent Pro 1000W SLI ATX12V 24PIN Active PFC PCI-E 135mm Fan
I'm running Windows 7 Retail x64 and everytime I try to exit On-Screen Keyboard my system freezes for about 10-15 seconds.

I got a new machine recently and it all works fine, except the operating system seems to randomly freeze. When it does the only way I have found to get out of it is to manually plug it out and restartOn freeze the keyboard and mouse become entirely unresponsive, the cursor does not move, nor do either click buttons do anything, if I'm typing somewhere the text does not appear, and Ctrl+Alt+Del doesn't bring up the usual screenI'm running windows 7 home premium on a 64 bit machine. I haven't found anything quite like this problem around so I thought it deserved a new topic by itselfI can't think of what to do to determine the cause or any potential solution. Everything's up to date. I think all the drivers are too. I put in different virus software 'cause I thought that might be itdit: The last time it happened I tried putting the keyboard and mouse into different USB ports, but that didn't work.Edit2: I just went to my device manager and manually checked for updates for all the drivers, and it turned out my graphics card needed an update (I updated it myself about three weeks ago so I discarded this as a potential problem). So I installed the update.
