Have tried to resolve issue with Canon powershot S50 connected by USB no longer functioning with W7.On occasions the only response is the pop up message driver device failed to install. The camer is recognised under " Device and Printers" When I trouble shoot response is to visit manufacturers site and download driver - not required under Windows compatibility listing.Have gone to Device Manager and removed all reference to Canon Camera under Portable devices but get same result. Have had a Microsoft IT tech look at the computer but he is at a loss.

I purchased a HP laptop that has window 7 home premium OA edition pre installed. I decided to shrink my primary partition and install ubuntu on it.However after ubuntu finish installing. I get a boot error and it leads me to the use the recovery tool. At that point, I am prompt to put in a win 7 cd.I do just that but there is no response. I also tried to go into the window 7 installation screen but it cannot find any drives. On the linux live cd however, I am able to see all my partitions on the install screen.I suspect that I might have installed ubuntu on some important factory config files.

Okay, I'm trying to hook this thing up to my new Dell Inspiron 15R. The thing is, when I plug it in, it keeps failing the driver installation. Ok now here is other part. I have used this controller perfectly fine on my previous HP Mini 210. As you know, that's a pretty weak computer compared to the one I just bought.w, after about 2 hours of researching, I've downloaded the current drivers from M$, and that didn't help at all. Next I came across someone who said check the device manager. Okay, so I did a cross examination with both computers and found the netbook had something called "universal serial bus usb controller" drivers with several others branching off while my Dell did not. Also the fact that the Mini uses USB2.0 while the Dell is 3.0.So I've come to the conclusion that my Dell is lacking(and it is) these "Controller" drivers. Now the annoying part is when I use the device manager to search for updates, it says it can't find anything. I've googled around(and used the driver disk that came with my Dell) to no avail.I would greatly appreciate it if anyone could help with my problem. I'm just using the controller for gaming. It works fine in the netbook, so I don't think power to the controller is an issue. My M$ drivers are up to date so I don't think it's those either.

Since the 11/18/2012 event viewer (Event ID 219, Task Category 212) has been posting a warning:
The driver DriverWUDFRd failed to load for the device WpdBusEnumRootUMB2&37c186b&0&STORAGE#VOLUME#_??_USBSTOR#DISK&VEN (followed by name of USB device)
It only occurs on start up if I have a USB memory device plugged into a USB port. The USB memory device functions perfectly and the error never occurs when I plug in and out a memory device after boot up.The error only occurs for memory devices like memory sticks, external USB hard drive does not cause this error.Checking back to around the 11/18/2012 I see nothing that I have changed/installed that might indicate something that has caused this. No other Windows 7 failures or issues.
Booting a second hard drive with windows 7 on the same system (I have this second installation for testing faults etc), the issue does NOT occur. From checking forums and searching I have found a few others with this issue and a few articles on its cause, WUDFRd failed to load for the device, Event ID 219 is logged after you install Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2
I was just curious as to why it would suddenly start occurring after a particular date when as far as I can tell I have not made any changes to anything around this date. Also I wondered if there was a fix to stop this, other than removing a memory stick before boot up!

I recently bought a refurbished Hp m6-1035dx, with OEM windows home premium 64bit.Additionally I also purchased a Samsung 830 SSD and and Optical Bay Caddy. My plan is to install the SSD in the Main Drive Bay and tranfer the current stock hitachi HDD into the Optic Bay. I was considering cloning my OS to the SSD, but decided to go for a fresh install of Windows 7 instead, considering my current OS files take up 40gb (which seems like a lot to me). So considering I have an OEM Windows 7 I opted to try the USB installation, using the guide provided on this forum. Everything was going well until I received the Device Driver error message "A required CD/DVD device driver is missing...etc" which is followed by the option to browse for the device driver. I have read numerous forums on this issue and none of the solutions have worked for me. For example I have tried switching the USB ports, I have actually tried all my USB ports, with no success. Some forums suggest I load the SATA/RAID drivers into my USB and then select those through the browse option. I have no tried this yet, as I have thus far been unsuccessful in locating these drivers. My next move was to burn the ISO onto a disc instead.

I'm using Windows 7 Enterprise SP1 32-bit
I'm making a test equipment to test a USB device that uses a FTDI-chip (232R). This FTDI-chip has a S/N a Vendor ID (VID) and a Product ID (PID) along with many other settings.
My problem is: 1. I get a new USB device (not flashed in anyway) from the manufacturer, insert it into a USB port on the computer and windows install the standard device drivers included with this device (these are the same for every device) and no windows reboot message is visible.
2. Now I set the S/N, VID, PID to something I like, then I have to remove the USB device to set the settings. When I insert the device again Windows install the device drivers once again, but this time it prompts me with the message "Restart Now or Restart Later". I press "Restart Later" and the device works fine anyway... BUT Can I somehow get rid of this message?

The BIOS is currently set mostly for defaults/auto except for where I needed to specify RAID for the respective SATA ports connected to the two drives I want to stripe and to boot from CD for Windows 7 installation so I adjusted these settings accordingly. The motherboard has an onboard AMD 890FX based RAID controller. I have two 2TB SATA3 drives configured for RAID0 using the onboard RAID controller software. The RAID controller software reports slightly over 4TB as logical drive #1. Everything seems fine at this point.Next step: Boot from the DVD to install Windows 7 Ultra 64. This attempt is a clean install, full (non-upgrade) version, to be installed onto a 4TB RAID0 array using two brand new HDDs.During the installation I supply the device drivers as specified by the mobo's owner's manual. Windows7 installation accepts them no problem. Suddenly, there is a problem... Instead of showing the available drivespace as just under 4TB, after the RAID hardware driver is supplied the list will then show two partitions, one barely over 3TB and another one roughly 1 TB. It does not show one 4TB drive after the driver has been provided from the mobo's driver CD.If I continue to install on the 3+TB drive anyway, the installation routine seems to go through the usual motions... But then comes up with an error... Something about not being able to prepare the drive for booting and to try to re-run the installation program again. It always ends at the same point with the same errror. I will post the exact error message after I give it another try. I should've written it down already, but it's no problem for me to re-create it.So... If someone posts that Windows 7 cannot be installed on a 4TB partition for whatever reason, like it cannot address over 3+TB of drivespace or other reason, then I can just forget about using the two drives in a RAID0 array and use them as 2 single drives.

I've connected my USB microphone, but Windows tried to install it only once and said Failed. I can't see my microphone now, and not sure what to do. I've checked Device Manager, there's that exclamation sign next to USB Audio Device, but when I click Update Drivers, it just says that Drivers are Up To Date. I've tried installing Realtek HD Audio drivers instead, but they don't work - I can see in Control panel that they are installed, but they are nowhere to be seen on Windows, and didn't change anything after reboot. How can I get this USB mic working?

I have a pc that has been running windows 7 pro fine for a couple of years. Today it wont boot stopping with the message: "Windows failed to start.A recent hardware or software change might be the cause."
To fix the problem:
1.Insert windows installation disc and restart your computer
2.Choose your language settings and then click "next"
3.Click "repair your computer".
If you do not have this disc contact your system administrator or computer manufacturer for assistance.
Status: 0xc000000e
Info: The boot selection failed because a required device is inaccessible.
This machine has only one dvd drive and one hdd. I have checked the boot list in the bios settings and the cd drive is first then the hdd second. If I insert the windows 7 cd and press any key to boot from cd when prompted I still end up at the "windows failed to start " screen. At this point I have the option to select "Launch startup repair" or "start windows normally" but I cant select them, the machine just counts down and continues to try to launch startup repair and fails with the 0xc000000e error.

I am not able to run recovery on by laptop. When I try to run recovery from hard drive or even booting system from DVD ROM using recovery discs I get the following error:
Status: 0xc0000225
Info: The boot selection failed because a required device is inaccessible.
My system is HP pavilion dv6 2150us. My hard drive is dynamic (someone told me that this error is because of dynamic hard drive). Will I have to convert dynamic hard drive to basic to run recovery? Or is there another way around?

I just bought a new Lenovo T430s and a Samsung 840 Pro SSD. Cloned the system by using Norton Ghost (First cloned the hidden disk, then Windows 7 disk) as the manual (Samsung 830 manual) said. Then put the HDD out and put the SSD in. However, the windows failed to bootWindows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fix... Status: 0xc000000e Info: The boot selection failed because a required device is inaccessible. I checked the internet and just could understand some basic operations. For example, I entered into bios and saw SATA Controller Mode option [AHCI] Did not find any "Storage config" option... in the main menu. Also, I pressed F12 to the boot menu and selected Samsung 840 Pro but still no work.

I have tried installing Windows 7 in Virtual PC and on my HP 2133 netbook. Both halt when in the copy file stage with this error message:
Windows cannot copy files required for installation. The files may be corrupt or missing. Make sure all files required for installation are available, and restart the installation. Error code: 0x80070241 I have downloaded the iso's again (from the Microsoft partner site) in case there was a corrupt download, but I get the same error.
The VPC image was using the ISO directly, and I copied the files from the iso to a usb drive for the netbook install. Anyone else see this?

I downloaded the VMware software to my C: drive, and when I clicked the file to open it, it opened to about 90% at which point I got the following error: Setup cannot continue. The Microsoft Runtime DLL installer failed to complete installation.I have Windows 7 and plenty of HD space. I've never had this installation problem before. It seems that Windows 7 has been a lot of trouble since I've bought this laptop; I've encountered numerous problems with software using it, though I don't know if this problem is related to it.

My former hard drive with my MBR on it failed. This hard drive was/is 750GB and when I purchased my 'main' 2TB hard drive I made another fresh install of Windows. In other words, I had two installations of Windows on two separate hard drives. However, the MBR is located on the now-failed 750GB hard drive, and so my 2TB install of Windows won't work. I have tried (and failed) at repairing or otherwise installing a new MBR on the 2TB hard drive.

I bought a new Dell Inspiron with Windows 7 pre-installed two years ago.
Recently, my computer has acquired a computer virus which slows down my computer, redirects select google entries and on my C Drive there are folders with names like "df4f0569299e83f51098af913b749bc2"
I have decided to reinstall Windows 7 using my original authentic Windows 7 CD that came with my Dell laptop. My intention is to keep my data on the hard disk. My DVD / CD drive works. Before installation is complete I get a message "No device drivers were found. Make sure that the installation media contains the correct drivers".
I see that this message is common after reading various threads. However, I am not so savvy when it comes to technical software, so things like "burning CDs", "upgrade Windows version", "built my own computer", "Bios", "32 bits vs 64" does not apply. Even after reading all the threads I still cannot make heads or tails of the recommended solutions.

Whenever I try installing Windows 7 on my new portable laptop, it always says "unable to find device drivers". I install it through usb flash disk as it doesn't have a dvd rom drive. I can browse to find the drivers on the Intel 330 SSD (replaced the hdd that came with the laptop), and a drive X: where I think is the temporary drive that windows use to run the installation setup, but I can no longer find the usb flash drive from which I booted windows installation setup from. And thus, unable to continue to install windows.
I had earlier successfully installed Windows 7 from the same usb disk the first time I did it, when the laptop and ssd were still raw and unformatted. I split the 120gb ssd to 50 and 60gb, however I wasn't able to format the 50gb system drive as windows setup wouldn't let me. This is my first time working around with a ssd, and windows wouldn't let me format it the first time I installed windows, is that okay? So after installing Windows 7, the 60gb partition didn't show up initially, and I was like wtf now I only have 50gb of drive space, but then I went to the control panel and somehow was able to make the other partition to show up. Then I realized I installed too many junk on it and I also wanted to repartition the ssd. So after like a few hours after I did the first install, I tried to reformat it again but the installation won't continue as it's now asking for the device drivers. I tried the usb stick on a desktop and on an older laptop and there was no problem.
why the windows installation fails to detect the usb flash disk after loading the windows installation setup, keeps asking for device drivers, and thus unable to continue the installation?

I recently built a desktop so that I could play SWTOR, all the parts were salvaged from other computers, but they are all working and compatible, to the best of my knowledge, except for the hard drive, which was broken, so I went out and bought a Western Digital 1 TB hard drive and a new copy of Windows 7 Home Edition. When I got home I plugged the hard drive, a SATA drive, in and popped the install disk in, only right after I got to the "Install Now" button and clicked it did I get this message; No device drivers were found. Make sure that the installation media contains the correct drivers, and then click OKFollowed by;A required CD/DVD drive device is missing. if you have a driver floppy disk, CD, DVD, or USB flash drive, please insert it now.Note: If the Windows installation media is in the CD/DVD drive, you can safely remove it for this step
