Have tried to resolve issue with Canon powershot S50 connected by USB no longer functioning with W7.On occasions the only response is the pop up message driver device failed to install. The camer is recognised under " Device and Printers" When I trouble shoot response is to visit manufacturers site and download driver - not required under Windows compatibility listing.Have gone to Device Manager and removed all reference to Canon Camera under Portable devices but get same result. Have had a Microsoft IT tech look at the computer but he is at a loss.

I've connected my USB microphone, but Windows tried to install it only once and said Failed. I can't see my microphone now, and not sure what to do. I've checked Device Manager, there's that exclamation sign next to USB Audio Device, but when I click Update Drivers, it just says that Drivers are Up To Date. I've tried installing Realtek HD Audio drivers instead, but they don't work - I can see in Control panel that they are installed, but they are nowhere to be seen on Windows, and didn't change anything after reboot. How can I get this USB mic working?

Since the 11/18/2012 event viewer (Event ID 219, Task Category 212) has been posting a warning:
The driver DriverWUDFRd failed to load for the device WpdBusEnumRootUMB2&37c186b&0&STORAGE#VOLUME#_??_USBSTOR#DISK&VEN (followed by name of USB device)
It only occurs on start up if I have a USB memory device plugged into a USB port. The USB memory device functions perfectly and the error never occurs when I plug in and out a memory device after boot up.The error only occurs for memory devices like memory sticks, external USB hard drive does not cause this error.Checking back to around the 11/18/2012 I see nothing that I have changed/installed that might indicate something that has caused this. No other Windows 7 failures or issues.
Booting a second hard drive with windows 7 on the same system (I have this second installation for testing faults etc), the issue does NOT occur. From checking forums and searching I have found a few others with this issue and a few articles on its cause, WUDFRd failed to load for the device, Event ID 219 is logged after you install Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2
I was just curious as to why it would suddenly start occurring after a particular date when as far as I can tell I have not made any changes to anything around this date. Also I wondered if there was a fix to stop this, other than removing a memory stick before boot up!

Just got a new Asus Zenbook UX31E and am having a certain problem where if I plug my external drive (Samsung S2 1TB, USB 3.0, 2.5") into the 3.0 port windows tries to install a driver for the new device but fails. Now the drive powers on when connected but wont load up as an accessible drive and is not found is disc management.I've tried the HDD successfully in another laptop with USB 3.0 and it works fine on my Zenbook's USB 2.0 port so I'm guessing there's no problem with the HDD itself. Also I have tried a small flash drive in the Zenbook's 3.0 port which worked fine.I have tried updating the USB 3.0 driver to the latest version via Asus' driver database but have got the same result.I would of thought with such a prestigious laptop someone else would of run across this problem but all my googling has turned up ziltch.

I got a new P55 motherboard. I installed windows. The board was giving me problems. I put my old P45 motherboard into the case and booted form the same hard drive. (Windows 7 64 bit) It booted up fine but no internet.
I put in the P45 driver disk to install it's drivers. All installed fine except for the ethernet controller driver. It says "Reg DBGet key Valueex : failed" (no spaces)
What would this mean? Something in the registry? I un-installed the P55 driver that was on the HD. Also I "disabled" the device in device manager.
I have an image I created from the P45 board I could simply replace this installation with this image, but would like to just get this driver installed and everything will work. It's right here on the disk but it gives me this error.
Does anyone know an easy way around this?

We have a new monitor and it came with a driver CD. I want to install it because it's neccessarry to support it's native resolution (1920x1080, I can't select this when connecting via RGB) The problem (and my question) is:The driver fails to install. I don't really get how this driver would work. It seems it wants to install on top of the graphics driver (Intel GMA x3100)The Monitor driver is available here: link here get the ZIP file (I guess it can be also found on LG's English website. Just search for M2232)You can try it in a virtual machine, it isn't required to have the monitor connected so you can try it if you don't own this product. (thoughI I *did* connect it)It wants me to select the display driver to install on. Basically it lists every output. I selected the one I had the monitor connected (It said Non-PNP display). It had no effect so I installed it on the other one too but still no effect.I did a system restore to try again (as there is no uninstaller for the driver, be careful! try it in a VM). Now it is doing the same, it says install successful, but then I get another popup saying install failed.

Talking about the Broadcom Bluetooth installer at Broadcom.com - Home. Everything works fine until the Instalshield process. Fails, saying "Device not plugged in" for Bluetooth Peripheral Device and Multimedia Audio Controller. Bluetooth Radios and Human Interface Devices are OK. Do you think my Bluetooth adapter is possibly just too old? It is a Belkin F8T012. Broadcom.com - Home doesn't offer support.

I have just finished building a new desktop, here is the config:
Intel Core i5-2500K
ASUS P8P67 Pro, Intel P67
CORSAIR Dominator CMP8GX3M2A1600C9 2x 4GB
OCZ Vertex II Series SATA II 2.5" SSD, 60GB
SAMSUNG Spinpoint F3 1.0TB
SAPPHIRE HD 6950 2GB
Fractal Design Define R3
CORSAIR HX750
SONY OPTIARC AD-7260S SATA, DVD-RW
Using access to MSDN-AA, I got an ISO and key for Windows 7 Pro x64 (DVD - English). I then burnt the ISO to a DVD using my current computer, a WinXP 6 year old ACER laptop. When trying to do the clean install of Win 7 Pro on the new desktop, the installer starts up fine, but after choosing my language and regional settings, I get the famous "A required CD/DVD device driver is missing" error.
Here are the things I have tried, in vain:
1) Installing the various available SATA drivers from the ASUS motherboard DVD. This doesn't work and gives a "No new devices could be found" error.
2) Reburning the ISO with ImgBurn at 2.4x speed with verify on.
3) Redownloading the ISO from MSDN-AA and reburning the new ISO at 2.4x speed.
Note that I would have tried to make a bootable flashdrive of the ISO (using this guide: Install Windows 7 From USB Drive/Pen Drive ) but since I'm on Win XP on my current computer, DiskPart doesn't work in the same way. I therefore cannot do this, at least not in the manner described in that guide. Talking of DiskPart, I called up the command window in the Win 7 installer, and it shows NO drives at all. In the ASUS EFI BIOS, I have chosen boot priority for the DVD drive, and the two hard drives can be seen from there (although the SSD cannot be chosen as a priority for booting, which is weird, and possibly linked to this problem?).

When attempting to install Windows 7 on my computer (it currently has Ubuntu Desktop 12.04 installed, and has no CD/DVD drive), I get the following error; Quote:A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing. If you have a driver floppy disk, CD, DVD, or USB flash drive, please insert it now.Note: If the Windows installation media is in the CD/DVD drive, you can safely remove it for this step.I am installing it via a USB stick (copied the install files from my Windows 7 disk, due to the fact there is no CD/DVD drive). I've tried the common Internet solutions such as re-insert the USB stick, and try another USB port, none of the aforesaid have worked.

I have a pc that has been running windows 7 pro fine for a couple of years. Today it wont boot stopping with the message: "Windows failed to start.A recent hardware or software change might be the cause."
To fix the problem:
1.Insert windows installation disc and restart your computer
2.Choose your language settings and then click "next"
3.Click "repair your computer".
If you do not have this disc contact your system administrator or computer manufacturer for assistance.
Status: 0xc000000e
Info: The boot selection failed because a required device is inaccessible.
This machine has only one dvd drive and one hdd. I have checked the boot list in the bios settings and the cd drive is first then the hdd second. If I insert the windows 7 cd and press any key to boot from cd when prompted I still end up at the "windows failed to start " screen. At this point I have the option to select "Launch startup repair" or "start windows normally" but I cant select them, the machine just counts down and continues to try to launch startup repair and fails with the 0xc000000e error.

Status: 0xc0000225

My system is HP pavilion dv6 2150us. My hard drive is dynamic (someone told me that this error is because of dynamic hard drive). Will I have to convert dynamic hard drive to basic to run recovery? Or is there another way around?

about a month ago, my Windows 7 Starter went dead on my Toshiba NB250 netbook. At first I thought it was a HDD issue. I tried using downloaded 7 recovery tools to no avail, and for some reason, whatever took out the OS, took the factory installed recovery partition with it..After a few days, I was sick of waiting for the recovery media to arrive, so I tried Installing Ubuntu Netbook 10.10. It worked, so I assume the HDD is fine. The recovery media is on dvds, so it's useless to me (for some reason my BIOS doesn't support a boot from an external dvd drive). I got an iso of windows 7 starter. I've seen a ton of threads and responses where people say that the iso may be corrupted due to a bad download. Mine's fine, because it installs and runs in VirtualBox no problem.
I used the microsoft USB startup creation tool through my virtualbox installation. Thing is, whenever I try an install, I get a message saying there is a missing cd/dvd device driver. The thing has no cd/dvd drive, so I don't know what that's about. I tried copying the iso contents onto another piece of media, and did not make that bootable. I tried an install from my bootable usb, and then plugged in the usb of files. Nothing.I found this download on cnet, because I read about some guy who was messing around with his drivers to get an install to work. The cnet download was apparently only for vista, and when I put on my non-bootable media, and tried to install it when Windows asked for it, the installation told me that something was up with the drivers. Something to the tune of "contact the manufacturer for the newest software".

I'm trying to install Windows 7 64bit. After loading windows 7 setup from my dvd drive I get the error "Required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing." From doing a lot of research, it seems this error has nothing to do with my DVD drive but has to do with the SATA Controller Driver. So I try to load the 64bit drivers for the SATA controller and it finds them okay but when i try to install, it says something like "no new devices found". The SATA Driver(s) are the only it ever finds, except for the time I enabled Raid... Then those drivers showed up as well but with the exact same results.
From another forum I was directed to this microsoft page: [URL] and the resolution says: "To workaround this issue, disable AHCI mode for your disk controller in the system BIOS. Typically the controller has to be changed from AHCI mode to "IDE" or "ATA" mode. "
My motherboard is an Asus P5N-E nForce 650i SLI Chipset LGA775 FSB1333 DDR2 Mainboard. However, I can not find anyway to change the setting from AHCI mode to IDE or ATA. As far as I can tell, nothing in my bios allows me to change that setting... or at best it's unapparent.

Info: The boot selection failed because a required device is inaccessibleRecently I shrank one of the partition on the data drive in order to enlarge the other partition on the data drive. The enlarged data drive contains the folders of some installed games but the system disk is separate and was not altered in this way. I'm pretty sure that I hibernated and recovered from hibernation at least once since that change was made.Could it be that the OCZ drive has developed a fault? Or would it then be unable to even display this message? When I attempt to repair the installation using the Windows 7 disc, the operating system isn't listed. I don't think that there are any drivers for me to load - I think it's supposed to be automatic (the driver must be a part of Windows own included set).

I have an Intel i5, Windows 7 Ultimate, and an SSD as my main drive and 2 SATA HDDs.One day, I got a BSOD appeared and my PC restarted restarted. After that, the following error appeared: Window failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fix the problem:
1.Insert ....
2. .... ... status: 0xc000000e info: The boot selection failed because a required device is inaccessible
Also I noticed that BIOS only detected one of HDDs, not SSD neither other HDD.Sometimes, Windows can be started, but it doesn't work very well. When trying to copy data from F: to an external USB, it copies for a short time and then Windows 7 becomes unresponsive. This also happens in safe mode. After several reboots, now Windows will not boot and I get the error "The boot selection failed because a required device is inaccessible." And the BIOS only detects the SSD.
UPDATE: my disks:
HDDs

Seagate ST31000528AS
SSD
