my netbook won't start. It happened when I accidentally plugged out w/o the battery on it. When I tried powering it on, It went to black screen with options:
safe mode safe mode with networking safe mode with command prompt last known good configuration start windows normally
We already higlighted all the options but it just kept on restarting all over again.
Whenever I try to install Windows 7 SP1 it fails. I've searched all over the web to find a fix and nothing has worked. I thought I'd come here since you guys always helped me with other issues.
I just bought a new Lenovo T430s and a Samsung 840 Pro SSD. Cloned the system by using Norton Ghost (First cloned the hidden disk, then Windows 7 disk) as the manual (Samsung 830 manual) said. Then put the HDD out and put the SSD in. However, the windows failed to bootWindows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fix... Status: 0xc000000e Info: The boot selection failed because a required device is inaccessible. I checked the internet and just could understand some basic operations. For example, I entered into bios and saw SATA Controller Mode option [AHCI] Did not find any "Storage config" option... in the main menu. Also, I pressed F12 to the boot menu and selected Samsung 840 Pro but still no work.
I was trying to install Widows 7 ultimate (32 bit) on Sony VAIO CS-14G laptop. But the installation was a failure. Error occured during process of expansion of packages during setup. Then i restarted and in the boot menu it was showing windows setup. when i entered, it messeged starting windows (like normally it says during starting of windows 7), and then it showed the messege "Setup cannot be completed" and the system restarted. I have following queries (Note: i was not using the dvd during above installation process and i was doing it from setup files copied on a different partition of hard drive. Now,
1. When I inserted the disc, clicked on Install . I got the following error:When i try to use dvd it gives messege "Load Driver: A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing....."
2. Setup has created a drive called as X:
How do i remove the windows setup files and also from boot menu.
I have tried installing Windows 7 in Virtual PC and on my HP 2133 netbook. Both halt when in the copy file stage with this error message:
Windows cannot copy files required for installation. The files may be corrupt or missing. Make sure all files required for installation are available, and restart the installation. Error code: 0x80070241 I have downloaded the iso's again (from the Microsoft partner site) in case there was a corrupt download, but I get the same error.
The VPC image was using the ISO directly, and I copied the files from the iso to a usb drive for the netbook install. Anyone else see this?
I'm having trouble installing Silverlight and Office 10 Pro on my computer. I just reinstalled Win 7 on my HD and had trouble with my drivers updating, aka getting BSOD's. When I try to install these two programs, the installation windows say that the programs as failed to install.
My pc consist of a 200GB drive partition, one side has Win7 x86 and the other Windows Xp, Xp recently failed on me so i had to reinstall it, So i figure I'd installed Win7 X64 Since i use this Partition to run 3D and design Software, figure i could use the memory upgrade. Setup went fine, But now it boots right into win7 x64. Please tell me i can still boot into my other win7 x86 ? I never backed up some stuff on that side.
Windows says device driver installation failed for hp laserjet 1012. This despite printer working correctly. Every time on reboot I get this message. How do I stop windows from trying to install driver for a working device???
The BIOS is currently set mostly for defaults/auto except for where I needed to specify RAID for the respective SATA ports connected to the two drives I want to stripe and to boot from CD for Windows 7 installation so I adjusted these settings accordingly. The motherboard has an onboard AMD 890FX based RAID controller. I have two 2TB SATA3 drives configured for RAID0 using the onboard RAID controller software. The RAID controller software reports slightly over 4TB as logical drive #1. Everything seems fine at this point.Next step: Boot from the DVD to install Windows 7 Ultra 64. This attempt is a clean install, full (non-upgrade) version, to be installed onto a 4TB RAID0 array using two brand new HDDs.During the installation I supply the device drivers as specified by the mobo's owner's manual. Windows7 installation accepts them no problem. Suddenly, there is a problem... Instead of showing the available drivespace as just under 4TB, after the RAID hardware driver is supplied the list will then show two partitions, one barely over 3TB and another one roughly 1 TB. It does not show one 4TB drive after the driver has been provided from the mobo's driver CD.If I continue to install on the 3+TB drive anyway, the installation routine seems to go through the usual motions... But then comes up with an error... Something about not being able to prepare the drive for booting and to try to re-run the installation program again. It always ends at the same point with the same errror. I will post the exact error message after I give it another try. I should've written it down already, but it's no problem for me to re-create it.So... If someone posts that Windows 7 cannot be installed on a 4TB partition for whatever reason, like it cannot address over 3+TB of drivespace or other reason, then I can just forget about using the two drives in a RAID0 array and use them as 2 single drives.
My Windows 7 Ultimate upgrade($220) from Windows Vista Ultimate was 3/4 done judging from the progress bar. Received a command prompt stating that the upgrade failed due to corrupt installation files. On reboot I get a disc read error ctrl alt delete.I receive the same error everytime I ctrl alt delete. Is the disc corrupted by the upgrade?
I downloaded the VMware software to my C: drive, and when I clicked the file to open it, it opened to about 90% at which point I got the following error: Setup cannot continue. The Microsoft Runtime DLL installer failed to complete installation.I have Windows 7 and plenty of HD space. I've never had this installation problem before. It seems that Windows 7 has been a lot of trouble since I've bought this laptop; I've encountered numerous problems with software using it, though I don't know if this problem is related to it.
Okay, I'm trying to hook this thing up to my new Dell Inspiron 15R. The thing is, when I plug it in, it keeps failing the driver installation. Ok now here is other part. I have used this controller perfectly fine on my previous HP Mini 210. As you know, that's a pretty weak computer compared to the one I just bought.w, after about 2 hours of researching, I've downloaded the current drivers from M$, and that didn't help at all. Next I came across someone who said check the device manager. Okay, so I did a cross examination with both computers and found the netbook had something called "universal serial bus usb controller" drivers with several others branching off while my Dell did not. Also the fact that the Mini uses USB2.0 while the Dell is 3.0.So I've come to the conclusion that my Dell is lacking(and it is) these "Controller" drivers. Now the annoying part is when I use the device manager to search for updates, it says it can't find anything. I've googled around(and used the driver disk that came with my Dell) to no avail.I would greatly appreciate it if anyone could help with my problem. I'm just using the controller for gaming. It works fine in the netbook, so I don't think power to the controller is an issue. My M$ drivers are up to date so I don't think it's those either.
My former hard drive with my MBR on it failed. This hard drive was/is 750GB and when I purchased my 'main' 2TB hard drive I made another fresh install of Windows. In other words, I had two installations of Windows on two separate hard drives. However, the MBR is located on the now-failed 750GB hard drive, and so my 2TB install of Windows won't work. I have tried (and failed) at repairing or otherwise installing a new MBR on the 2TB hard drive.
A new hard drive has been installed on my laptop. I tried to install windows 7 and it failed. I am missing the master boot manager. is there free software to fix this problem that I can burn to a dvd or usb flash drive?
I bought my computer from best buy a couple of days ago and I recently got a message saying that my version of windows is not genuine. When I try to run the windows activation update it gives me "Update installation failed. Error information - 0x800B0001" and I still get the message that my windows is not genuine.
I am trying to install Microsoft Network Framework v.4 (x64) and I keep getting error "Final Result: Installation failed with error code: (0x80070643), "Fatal error during installation" (Elapsed time: 0 00:01:01)." The exact log file is attached: Code: OS Version Information:
OS Version = 6.1.7601, Platform 2, Service Pack 1 OS Description = Windows 7 - x64 Ultimate Edition Service Pack 1 OS Version Information
brand new toshiba satelitte laptop, preinstalled windows 7, turned it on for the first time out of box and it began some 'partitioning' thing..i have no idea what it is but i was excited to get going so i selected 'Windows 7 64bit' clicked next and it loaded with a blue bar, took about 20mins......then it went to another screen and said 'creating crc file' , or something like that and the blue bar never loaded..time elapsed went up to 2hrs, time remaining never showed. i figured something was wrong, clicked cancel, rebooted and its now stuck on the windows starting up, black screen..
I was using recovery manager to reset my laptop (ACER 5470G) back to factory settings. The image failed to copy across. I then got Boot Mgr is Missing - I have tried, everything it states on the internet and even bought some software WIN RE to carry out the recovery but nothing works. I have tried to reinstall W7 ISO and W7 full installation software but it all has failed. The message i get with the full install disc and iso is that the system i have to select a drive PQ, F and C, the only option I have is C, but when I try it states it can't do it. I tried Ubuntu and it did work, so I presume the HDD is ok. I did have Zone Alarm Data-lock installed on it and I don't know if that is preventing the re-install. I tried to install XP, but that just dies out.
I am, at this point, completely baffled how I can even interact with my computer. And frankly whether this should be in this part of the forum. The problem is with this machine. . My understanding of the situation is that I google'd "Winrar", and carelessly downloaded a malware-ridden version of the software from a fake site.
a friend of mine bought an Emachines laptop from sweden aguess, and the HDD failed, so I had to install a new OS to a new HDD... but now the Network controller just wont install... and on Emachines homepage the version G730G is not even shown.I have tried many different ways of installing, even disabled UAC, safe mode, thru command promt and still not installing. On device manager it just shows under "other devices" as "network controller" with a yellow sign on it probably its for wifi, cause it doesn't work currently also I took it apart yesterday before installing new windows... cleaned and changed thermal paste. could it be that I might have broken WIFI wire or its not connected properly? (It's a pain in the butt to take this apart and put it back together)
before i gutted it out and put all new stuff in, my computer was once an eMachines C6415. it has a built in card reader that 7 identifies, but just as a generic card reader. there are windows xp drivers for it that will give them certain icons and specify what kind of slot they are, but i can't find any for 7. they work and all, but i want them to show up in my computer with all the correct information (instead of the generic icon that just says "removable drive"). i can't find any 7 drivers for it. any help?
A friend gave me a netbook the one in title and I believe the sata hdd is failing, I just need some reassurance. The computer is just majorly slow, done some researching on the board and found out if the drive fails to spin up so many times it will put it in POI-I mode or something like and cause the data transfer to be extremely slow. When the computer FINALLY does turn on takes an hour sometimes no joke nothing will load. Acts like its frozen, after a while of letting it sit and do its thing I can slowly start opening stuff and it starts to speed up. I've defragged, ran chkdsk, and startup repair and everything I could think of and no luck. Is the drive failing ?
My e250 wont boot up... it shows a nag screen saying that is did not complete configuration and to restart to continue config.. I tried that several times... no luck.. this machine has no internal cddrive.
