Apr 21, 2009I was once using bitdefenderTS2009, but then I uninstalled it and now I'm using 'Kaspersky Technical Preview for Windows 7'.
When I'm using Snipping Tool to save screenshot for my post at 'show your WEI score' thread on the forum I noticed this (see attachment)
I guess those are some leftovers from imperfect BDTS2009 uninstallation process. Any suggestion on how I could get rid of those?
For you know, I also have used the Uninstall Tool I got from Bitdefender website successfully.
Windows 7 Firewall Error Code 0x80070424 Windows Firewall Service Missing
Jan 3, 2012Recently had a virus infection and noticed that the windows firewall service is missing. When trying to reset to recommended settings by using control panel received error code 0x80070424. Cannot access other computers or shared files/folders on home network. Saw a previous post dated 12-17 that appears to be the same problem.

RAM: DDR3 Mushkin 996776 4x4 GB (16GB)

SSD, Radeon HD 7950 and Mushkin ddr3 are the newest parts. But I'm experiencing random BSODs (ntoskrnl.exe). There were also BSODs related to dwm.exe, but they disapeared when I installed Catalyst 12.8. Sometimes there are hardlocks without BSODs - ctrs+alt+del doesn't work here so I have to do a hard reset.First I thought it might be related to Radeon 7950 and compatibility problems - F2 (2009) is the latest BIOS for my motherboard (there is also F3J but still beta). Now it seems to be ok after I installed Catalyst 12.8.Then I thought that the SSD connected to Marvell controller is the problem. Well, there is a problem cause BIOS sometimes cannot see this SSD. Now Im thinking of buying a newest motherboard... unfortunately. I updated Marvell Controller drivers, still the same.Next thing - I ran memtest86+ ver. 4.20 to check memory. Pass 0 (Modulo 20, Random pattern) - there's only one error:

Next pass - no error. I let Memtest complete 6 passes. I got only this one error.BIOS settings:

Ram voltage - 1.635v set memory voltage to 1.650V. First MemTest pass - no errors. Second pass also completed. I think that all four sticks are ok. I can't say it's overheating. I'd say the memory is getting warm (even not so warm), but not hot. Third MemTest pass also was completed. No lock ups. Probably too low voltage could generate errors.Today I got another BSOD:

System Thread Exception Not Handled
Nov 24, 2012Some background info: I am running Windows 7 Ultimate. It is 64-bit. I am running it on a laptop. I have no idea why I got the BSOD, but I did get it today. Restarted the computer in safe mode, then restarted again in "regular" mode and everything was fine. I'm typing on the same computer now (it's the only one I have, okay?). Can't think of anything that would be wrong with the computer, except the charger broke (I'm pretty sure this is a charger issue, and a new one is in the mail) so the battery doesn't charge: I have to have the computer plugged in when I use it.

This prevents me from running the program. In the dialoge box it says to press continue and the message will be ignored and try to run the program but it just shades out the program and I cannot do anything .

Nov 19, 2009So I finally get everything installed and running. I updated my gfx drivers to the latest at the time(a couple weeks ago) and things worked.
The computer had been shut off for probably a week maybe longer. Turn the computer on, right after I login, bam, BSOD. system_service_exception.
So I do some searching on another computer. Most of the things come up talking about gfx drivers being the problem, but nothing definite.
I rolled back the drivers. Things work fine. ATI released a new driver catalyst 9.11. I install that, everything is fine. computer was shut down and restarted and still worked fine.
I fire up the computer tonight, bam, BSOD. Same message as before. So I rolled back the gfx driver and now it's working normal again.
Does it make sense for the computer to be working fine with the newer drivers, be shut down for a while, and then not work? Cause that doesn't make sense to me.
There's also not much information out there regarding this system_service_exception BSOD that comes up. It would be nice to have some better concrete info on it.

System Service Exception When Plugged Laptop Into The TV
Jun 28, 2012Yesterday I wanted to use my HP laptop with my TV so I connected it using an hdmi cable. Everything connected fine and I opened up my cyberlink youcam software to adjust the camera settings. I got up for a minute to do something and when I came back the computer had gone to the blue screen of death (displayed right on the tv screen). The error was SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION. This is the first time this happened so im not sure what to think. According to the HP website all of my drivers are up to date so I don't think that would be the problem.

IE Unhandled Exception In Third Party Module And Should Be Closed
Aug 30, 2011A couple of weeks ago this started happening : "Internet Explorer Unhandled Exception in third party module and should be closed. We are sorry for the inconvenience." Send Report Close . Then IE closes and reopens. As many as 3 - 4 times on the same site?

BSOD System Service Exception Mostly/while Playing BF3 And/or WoW
Jan 16, 2012Since building a new computer a few months back, I have been having issues with BSOD's while playing certain games like Battlefield 3 or Wow. But Skyrim and others are fine. I've tried many different drivers for ati and I'm currently using 11.12, but crashes still happen. I don't believe its a overheating problem as the temps are all low. WhoCrashed suggests a driver issue and has singled out ati as the possible issue a few times.

Aug 31, 2012I've got a new install of Windows 7 Ultimate x64 on new hardware - a Foxconn motherboard replacing an older faulty EVGA motherboard. Since install, I've had several explorer.exe crashes, and a few bluescreens.SFC /scannow came back clean. A basic memory test (windows internal test from boot) also came back clean. BSOD And System Service Exception Errors
Apr 28, 2011While playing games like cod 4, Battlefield BC2, and some other games, all online the computer freezes and the only way to make it move again is to reset. I think it maybe related because all the problems happen while I'm connected to the internet. Lately it has crashed and it appears BSOD message. This is what it says:

I think it maybe related because this only happens when I do something on the internet. Watching a video or uploading something, or playing online games. Plus sometimes it freezes and not even the reset button works. I have to turn it completely off and in 5 seconds turns back again on its own. I don't understand much of it, but i went to event viewer and not all the errors are totally alike, so i don't know if that means the cause is different. I have lots of critical errors and all from the source: kernel power; and event: id 41. I have other errors with name "KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDELED" and other with no name.

Dec 10, 2009i have been having this issue since Vista. I will randomly get the BSOD 0x3B. I notice it happens a lot when i play call of duty 4 and the new call of duty modern warfare 2. I immediately thought it was my ram. I took out all of the sticks and ran the vista memory test (i know, probably not the best choice) on each individual stick and then all of them together. No issues found.
After testing the ram i thought it may be my GPU because of the fact that it happens a lot in call of duty. I figured maybe the way the game renders on the GPU, its probably using a bad portion of the GPU RAM. I planned on upgrading in the future so i went ahead and ordered a Radeon 5870. it will be here friday. Hopefully that will fix the issue.
Here are my current system specs. Maybe you will find something wrong with it. I have updated the BIOS, Video Drivers and motherboard drivers.
Intel e8400 @ 3.6ghz. Cooled with a Cooler Master V8. Max temps after playing for awhile about 43C.

Apr 30, 2012this is the 5th time i've got a pink screen with artifacts, randomly happens over the course of 4 months. this time i got a blue screen following it. last time the display driver corrected itself. i've ran furmark until the temp maxed out with no artifacts or anything. 86 c. times that the pink screen have occurred, once during mw3, once during vlc media player, twice during Internet just at the homepage, and once during windows media player.

Dec 10, 2012I've got a new PC, Windows 7 Home Premium x64. I have installed Adobe CS6 on it. Illustrator crashes at least once/day, and Microsoft Outlook 2003 crashes a few times/week also. Both list Event ID 1000.I have uninstalled and re-installed both with no luck. There is seemingly no pattern to the crashes, sometimes occur while printing, saving, importing objects and sometimes while that program is sitting in the background.

Jun 12, 2009I'm having some problems with windows' firewall. Last night I tried to set up a simple ftp server (to share a couple of folders, and access that folder through other computers connected to the network by typing the IP address into a browser/ftp client on the other computer). My problem simply is, that I cannot connect to the ftp. It works fine when I try to access it from my computer (which is the server).
But I can't connect to it through other computers, unless I turn off Windows Firewall. I tried playing around with the Inbound/Outbound rules (disabled/enabled everything), nothing worked. I also have FTP allowed in "Allow a program or feature through Windows Firewall", and I still haven't managed to get it to work. Can anyone suggest any solutions?

Jun 24, 2009I've got an issue that's been driving me crazy. I've installed MobaSSH and the windows firewall absolutely refuses to let it through. I've taken down the firewall and everything works fine, so I know its the firewall. Same problem with a Serv-u FTP server but I'm not as worried about that as I am the SSH server. MobaSSH adds itself as a service, so while it was running I found the process and made sure that it was added to the firewall, I can find nothing else to add to exceptions. I haven't found much in terms of firewalls for Windows 7, so I would prefer to get this to work instead of switching firewalls
