View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been getting this error. This is quite a pain when it comes to installing some things, like the newest version of iTunes, some games bought through Steam, etc. I also think it may be the reason why some updates aren't installing right away anymore. I also can't access things like Add And Remove programs, and I believe this is it (as another question, is it potentially? If not, then what is?). Because of it, thins like Adobe Flash Player also won't update. I've been trying to find a way to fix it, but none work. When I try to Google how to reinstall it, I usually get old XP help, or Vista- and I'm not sure that works. This is a problem that's really annoying me, and I will take my laptop to Geek Squad if I can't figure this out. To clarify, this is a Windows 7, Acer, 64 bit
View 5 Replies View RelatedThis happened the last time I reformated and I don't really understand what's going on. I have 4 harddrives. 1 SSD and the rest are standard 7200RPM drives. This is the error I get when I try to install something.
Weird thing is I can't even play games cause I get this error too.
I did unplug the harddrives from the motherboard when I cleaned it, don't know if that could cause a problem, I don't believe they we're put in the same spots.
probably my Windows installation service is broken or otherwise nonfunctional. Although the windows installer doesnot report anything wrong, I'm having many bluescreens in last days, mostly just when installing or uninstalling something via Windows Installer. No crash dumps.

The most common ones are 2503 followed shortly by error 2502.I can't access windows installer folder, because it is not there. I check the box saying "show hidden folders" and still nothing.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am getting the "Windows Installer Service Could not be accessed" error. Every time I try to install a new program I get this message. I am running Windows 7 64 bit. I purchased my computer about a year ago from best buy and they didn't give me a Windows 7 installation disc, so I can't do a clean install if I wanted to (though I prefer not to, of course).I have tried:1) re-registering Windows Installer with the msiexec /regserver2) running sfc /scannw3) running a system restore (though I can only restore to about 5 days ago to before(?) I did a system update) and it says it could not complete the restore (I think because of a corrupted file?)4) chkdsk5) scan with AVG & Trendmicro housecallI have been working on this for about 10 hours now..very frustrating! I feel like I am out of luck.
Most of the fixes I find online seem not to work for Windows 7I am also experiencing other problems now as well: Windows Media Player is saying "the file wmploc.dll has a version number 12.0.7601.17514 where 12.0.7600.16667 was expected"It seems like a new thing is breaking every second! When I go to services.msc it says it can't run the activex controls to show me the properties.
I have been trying to enable the search feature on my windows 7 64-bit machine but when I attempt to do so, or use indexing, nothing seems to happen. When I try to enable windows search in services I get "Windows could not start the Windows Search service on Local Computer - error 5 access denied."
When I detect problems in search and indexing it tells me windows search service is not running but lists the error as not fixed. When I try to manually add a config folder in the ProgramData - Microsoft - Search - Data folder it erases itself after a few seconds.
This account has full admin control, I don't get it. I even tried to do this through the hidden admin account.
This laptop is only a month old but I can't turn the search feature on. I think maybe if I modify it to not include the external in indexing it would not mess up, but I can't even touch the modify button without enabling windows search, which is currently impossible.
I'm trying to install Java 7 & I keep getting this error:installer : wrapper.createfile failed with error 5: access is denied?I have uninstalled all previous versions of Java, tried installing as administrator... Nothing is working.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am trying to connect my xbox wired to my computer, and sharing a vpn connect to xbox. My computer connect wirelesly to a router, my xbox is connecte wired to my pc. I've created a vpn service on the sharing tab of the vpn service I open a combo to share this vpn with the xbox lan. The problem is that after connecting to the vpn, I have "no internet access" at the xbox lan, if I delete the vpn service, Ido have a internet connection. I tried the other way by making a bridge connection with my wireless and xbox lan, but with this connection I cant connect to the vpn. The reason that I need the vpn service is to "fake" my region over the net and buy games, watch netflix etc.

when i try to connect on the network i found this message in front of me
''error 711 (cant load Remote Access Service Connection Manager)''
I have used Windows 7 build 7057. But in that I was having problem that it keeps giving error 711 (cant load Remote Access Service Connection Manager) whose soln provided on net doesnt work as 'secure socket tunneling protocol' service starts and stops automatically and other services are dependent on it. So the only soln is to reinstall windows. So I switched to XP again and this problem doesnot occur in it.
Now I wasnt to ask that was that some build related problem or other coz i want to install Windows 7 RC now. If anyone have soln to that problem than plz provide it.

I have installed Win 7 x64. I suspect I have inadvertently deleted part of the Win Installer 5.0. It is not available as a separate download (only 4.5). I have been stuffing around for several days and have tried many, many things all to no avail. So, the installer could be in quite an indeterminate state.Every time I try to install software (say Office or even the OS) the installation simply fails with setup has encountered n error after a few seconds.I have backups from a month ago, but am unsure whether these had the problem. Is there some way I can reinstall the Win 7 Win Installer 5.0.Also in the services there was a Windows installer service, now there is an Instalator Windows service.

View 11 Replies View Relatedafter upgrading to internet explorer 9, i realized that ie9 doesn't work with most of the things i do in the browser!! facebook locks up, Internet doesn't like it, and most of all, i can't do my online classes because internet explorer 9 is not supported by webassign or csi blackboard. webassign and blackboard do not work in firefox, either.i thought, uninstall ie9 and put internet explorer 8 back on. after being to over 20 different websites, i cannot find an installer for ie8 for windows 7 x64 anywhere. i did try the installers for both windows xp x64 and windows vista x64, but both of them said the installer was incompatable with my version of windows.
i contacted microsoft and they told me to go to programs and features, windows features, and check internet explorer 8. but after i uninstalled ie9, only the internet explorer 9 feature was listed, not 8.so i called support back, and this time they didn't tell me to do that. instead, the support rep, as stupid as he was, told me that internet explorer 8 is not compatable with windows 7. i told him, my computer came with ie8 pre-installed. windows updates is what broke it!so basically, tl;dr, i need an installer for ie8 for windows 7 x64.
I'm having huge problems at the moment; I can't install MSI files as well as install a handful of other apps. (Including Skype, Solutio)I've googled for hours, but to no avail. View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to install a program on my windows 7 home premium, and after using the installer, nothing happens for a long time. This has happened before, and sometimes the installer starts after a few minutes, but sometimes it takes over an hour, and often i have to just shut it down, because i can't wait for it. Does anyone know about this problem, and a solution for it? In the Joblist, under processes, it is called SETUP.EXE*32, and looks inactive.
