I am running Windows 7 64 bit home. I have a program that does not give me a choice as to where it's printout goes. It just sends printout to the default printer. I want the output to go to a file. I used the printer setting feature to set up a FILE printer. As a printer choice I picked generic text and set it up as the default printer. When I send the printout from the program I am asked for a file name. I enter test.prn as the file name. Then I get an error message: Could not open the file. Access is denied.

I have a dll file called 6to4v32.dll that is a trojan which my AV picked up. I can't delete it and I can't unregister it. When I go to unregister it through command prompt I type the following while being in the system32 directory:regsvr32 /u 6to4v32.dll I actually renamed it to 6to4v32-old.dll to try to get it to stop infecting my computer but didn't work and It always returns the error LoadLibrary("6to4v32-old.dll" )failed - Access is denied. I am running as administrator. I've tried it as an admin on both the computer and the domain but no luck. I also have all the permissions yet still get the error.

I am not very good with computers but today I got a blue screen and I have the DMP File right in front of me in the minidump folder under windows. I tried to upload it normally to this site to post my crash report but it says I don't have permission. I am the literal owner of this computer and there are no other accounts I no what I am doing pretty well expect for when it comes to stuff like this. I have winrar for my 64 bit Windows 7 Computer but when I try to arc it I get this WinRAR Diagnostic Message: Cannot Open (my DMP file) Access is denied.

I have an external HDD that contains data originaly created with a windows XP PC. When plugged into my Windows 7 PC, I cant seem to be able to save changes. E.g. if I dbl click on a .txt file to open it in notepad, make changes and then try to save it, notepad says 'access is denied'. Similarly for ultraEdit. If I launch UltraEdit selecting 'run as administrator' this solves the problem. But that doesnt help when opening files by dbl clicking on them. Under file properties, I have checked the files does not have a read-only attribute, and the Administrators group has full-control. I have changed the file-ownership to me. I am configured as an Administrator rather than a Standard-user. If I create a new file on this drive with the Windows 7 PC, I can save changes no bother.I have compared the file properties for the 2 files and the only difference I can spot is that the newly created file has me listed under the Security tab; whereas the old file only has group names listed.

I have a script on my laptop under my account which is an Administrator account. I double click the .bat file and it shuts down my remote server without any issue.
When I go into another account on my laptop, which was an regular user account, changed to an Administrator account, I double click on the .bat file and CMD comes and goes quickly with the "Access Denied" message.
I cannot figure it out for the life of me. The script is shutting down a Windows Server 2008 R2 computer. My simple script.
Quote:
@echo off
shutdown -m \192.168.0.8 -s -t 0 -f
tl;dr version:
Script to shut down server works on Account 1. Script gets "Access Denied" on Account 2.

I am working on a batch file that will copy down required updates to some software in "Program Files." (Using the XCOPY command).This works fine as long as it is on XP and the user is at least a Power User (ability to modify "Program Files" ). I understand about the Power User requirement, so about XP is not the problem.With Windows 7, however, when we try running the batch file, it gives us an "Access Denied" error. Even if the user is a domain admin it gives the same message. The only way to get around this is to right click on it and make it "Run as Administrator".Any ideas on how to make it run for a Power User? I don't believe that it would allow a Power User to run it under Run as Administrator, so am wondering if there is a way to make it do something like "Run as Power User."

It says 'The wrapper version of SecuROM is too old, it can not be used with this version of the API. Please protect the application with the latest version of SecuROM!' I've updated Kingdoms to the latest update and tried reinstalling and uninstalling but nothing happens. It's only Medieval 2 Total War Kingdoms and not the original Medieval 2 Total War.I've also installed the SecuROM diagnositcs tool but that fails every time I try it so now I've run out of ideas except that I think the data on the disk may be screwed even though theres no scratches on the disk.

Recently whenever I've used an .exe installer I'll get an error as soon as I click start after choosing the directory, in the picture example I include below, it's of SA-MP, but it happens with any installer I try and use. Installers have worked previously, it's only recently it's stopped working.The error is;Error opening files for writing?
What I've tried;
-Full system scan with Comodo AV.
-Revealed hidden files and folders.
-Run the installer in both compatability (Even though it does work on Windows 7, and as an Administrator).
-Also done the scan on CMD (can't remember exact command).
Brief Info:
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit.

I just recently moved a folder out of a larger folder. The larger folder was part of the video library. Now when I got to the video library the folder I moved out of it is still there but now it won't let me open it or delete it. I believe it is empty because the new version is where it is supposed to be with no problems but I'd like to get the bad folder out of my video library. The error tells me that the folder is not available and Access denied
