Apr 15, 2012This happened the last time I reformated and I don't really understand what's going on. I have 4 harddrives. 1 SSD and the rest are standard 7200RPM drives. This is the error I get when I try to install something.
Weird thing is I can't even play games cause I get this error too.
I did unplug the harddrives from the motherboard when I cleaned it, don't know if that could cause a problem, I don't believe they we're put in the same spots.

Jan 31, 2010I've been trying to install pinnacle's "Dazzle" usb video capture device driver (model DVC100), but keep getting this: Error 1719. The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. This can occur if the Windows Installer is not correctly installed. Contact your support personnel for assistance. I've been on so many forums and even with the pinnacle support crew, which was pretty useless. I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium on an HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook (64 bit OS) I've tried several things but to no avail. Has anyone had problems with their Windows Installer? Not sure if it's specific to this device, but more problems with a corrupt Windows Installer maybe?

Feb 14, 2011I've had my Lenovo U350 for a about a year and a half. Towards the very beginning I've had this issue on and off, but never really noticed it. Today I tried to install steam.exe, but I keep getting an error 1719.
I went to services.msc and realized that I don't actually have a 'Windows Installer'. I know Windows Redistribute 4.5 does not work for Windows 7, so I was wondering if anyone knew how to solve this problem?
It is strange because I can install some things but not others. For example, I can install Digsby.

Edit: I noticed some sites said that the lack of Windows Installer meant that my Windows 7 is not legal/counterfeit. However, I purchased the laptop from Lenovo with a complimentary copy of Windows 7, and I have already verified authenticity, so that isn't the problem.

Jan 13, 2012I have been going around and around with my wife's computer.
Specs: MSI X58 mobo, Intel Core i7, 16g ram, gForce 9500 video with dual DVI out, 740g drive, Win 7 Pro 64b.
I built this machine and it has been running great for months and last week it started to freak out. My wife was having issues with Word crashing; started just after the updates from last week (smells funny). I figured, well, I can't see any problems, more than likely a bad update, MS will fix this week.Well, no. It's gotten worse. I started getting the 1719 error, and have searched the web high and low for anything to fix it. I followed instructions that don't work (or don't work anymore). I can't reinstall windows, because the disc is now so old, vs the updated service packed version on the machine.I tried a fix from MS to fix installer issues, but it died on the vine - can't find the server, try again later.The guts of the problem? I have a number of stuck windows updates just dying to be done, but they won't install. One does, but it's back upon reboot.
As soon as I log in Acrobat 8 Standard tries to update; but I get the 1719 error and the update ends. Same with office. It has apparently tried to install SP3, but with zero success.I can run it from the run line in the start box but when I click on Word, it wants to finish SP3, but blows when it can't find it.

Jul 8, 2011I am getting the "Windows Installer Service Could not be accessed" error. Every time I try to install a new program I get this message. I am running Windows 7 64 bit. I purchased my computer about a year ago from best buy and they didn't give me a Windows 7 installation disc, so I can't do a clean install if I wanted to (though I prefer not to, of course).I have tried:1) re-registering Windows Installer with the msiexec /regserver2) running sfc /scannw3) running a system restore (though I can only restore to about 5 days ago to before(?) I did a system update) and it says it could not complete the restore (I think because of a corrupted file?)4) chkdsk5) scan with AVG & Trendmicro housecallI have been working on this for about 10 hours now..very frustrating! I feel like I am out of luck.
Most of the fixes I find online seem not to work for Windows 7I am also experiencing other problems now as well: Windows Media Player is saying "the file wmploc.dll has a version number 12.0.7601.17514 where 12.0.7600.16667 was expected"It seems like a new thing is breaking every second! When I go to services.msc it says it can't run the activex controls to show me the properties.

Jul 30, 2011I was having a problem earlier with tons of BSOD's, but after getting some help here I was able to solve the problem. But lo and behold I try to install something and get this new problem. I tried going into cmd and unregistering windows installer and then re-registering it but that didnt work. Someone suggesting going into regedit and going to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCURRENT CONTROL SETSERVICESMSIserverWOW64 then right click on WOW64, then select Modify Set Value Data to 0 (mine was set at 1) and Base should be Hexadecimal. However, I can't even do this because when I go to MSIserver there is no WOW64 folder so I don't even know what to change.
System restore doesn't work earlier. I really want to avoid a complete reinstall. I was able to avoid it with my BSODs but now with this new issue I cannot install anything on my computer.

Jun 27, 2010I am getting an error when I am attempting to install the C++ Redistributable Package that says:
"Windows Installer Service cannot be accessed. This can occur if the Windows Installer is not correctly installed. Contact your support personnel for assistance."
I have attempted to look up what this means, however all of the guides I find are for Windows 2000 or Server 2003! I have also had the same error message pop up when I try to manually install updates with Windows Updater.

Dec 26, 2012I've been having an issue with my PC ever since I've installed an Avermedia Live Gamer Capture Card. It literally broke my computer the first time causing my graphics card to die out immediately after starting windows was complete. I managed to install fresh copy of win7 x64 and has been running alright, but my kaspersky internet security 2013 wont come up on start up and I went to uninstall and reinstall and the uninstaller gets stopped by error 1719 and refuses to uninstall. Also my computer somewhat froze with a weird alien sounding *** that was going on and then finally froze and i rebooted my PC and nothing again so far but I still cant go without an antivirus.

This is quite a pain when it comes to installing some things, like the newest version of iTunes, some games bought through Steam, etc. I also think it may be the reason why some updates aren't installing right away anymore. I also can't access things like Add And Remove programs, and I believe this is it (as another question, is it potentially? If not, then what is?). Because of it, thins like Adobe Flash Player also won't update. I've been trying to find a way to fix it, but none work. When I try to Google how to reinstall it, I usually get old XP help, or Vista- and I'm not sure that works. This is a problem that's really annoying me, and I will take my laptop to Geek Squad if I can't figure this out. To clarify, this is a Windows 7, Acer, 64 bit

Jul 8, 2012I've a jar file which contains a very simple program of displaying "Hello" message in the console.I've pasted the code at the end of this thread.I want to run this jar file as a windows service.This service gets started without any hiccup,However,It simply wouldn't start the service.
I've tried running this service as using NET and Sc command.But in vain.Below is the error i'm facing C:Windowssystem32>sc start MajaService [SC] StartService FAILED with error 193.
Further, as a workaround I created a .bat file for executing this .jar file and again tried creating a window service for this .bat file,In this event i get the followingh error:

Dec 1, 2011Recently whenever I've used an .exe installer I'll get an error as soon as I click start after choosing the directory, in the picture example I include below, it's of SA-MP, but it happens with any installer I try and use. Installers have worked previously, it's only recently it's stopped working.The error is;Error opening files for writing?
What I've tried;
-Full system scan with Comodo AV.
-Revealed hidden files and folders.
-Run the installer in both compatability (Even though it does work on Windows 7, and as an Administrator).
-Also done the scan on CMD (can't remember exact command).
Brief Info:
