I've been having an issue with my PC ever since I've installed an Avermedia Live Gamer Capture Card. It literally broke my computer the first time causing my graphics card to die out immediately after starting windows was complete. I managed to install fresh copy of win7 x64 and has been running alright, but my kaspersky internet security 2013 wont come up on start up and I went to uninstall and reinstall and the uninstaller gets stopped by error 1719 and refuses to uninstall. Also my computer somewhat froze with a weird alien sounding *** that was going on and then finally froze and i rebooted my PC and nothing again so far but I still cant go without an antivirus.
I've been trying to install pinnacle's "Dazzle" usb video capture device driver (model DVC100), but keep getting this: Error 1719. The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. This can occur if the Windows Installer is not correctly installed. Contact your support personnel for assistance. I've been on so many forums and even with the pinnacle support crew, which was pretty useless. I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium on an HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook (64 bit OS) I've tried several things but to no avail. Has anyone had problems with their Windows Installer? Not sure if it's specific to this device, but more problems with a corrupt Windows Installer maybe?
I've had my Lenovo U350 for a about a year and a half. Towards the very beginning I've had this issue on and off, but never really noticed it. Today I tried to install steam.exe, but I keep getting an error 1719.
I went to services.msc and realized that I don't actually have a 'Windows Installer'. I know Windows Redistribute 4.5 does not work for Windows 7, so I was wondering if anyone knew how to solve this problem?
It is strange because I can install some things but not others. For example, I can install Digsby.

Edit: I noticed some sites said that the lack of Windows Installer meant that my Windows 7 is not legal/counterfeit. However, I purchased the laptop from Lenovo with a complimentary copy of Windows 7, and I have already verified authenticity, so that isn't the problem.
I have been going around and around with my wife's computer.
Specs: MSI X58 mobo, Intel Core i7, 16g ram, gForce 9500 video with dual DVI out, 740g drive, Win 7 Pro 64b.
I built this machine and it has been running great for months and last week it started to freak out. My wife was having issues with Word crashing; started just after the updates from last week (smells funny). I figured, well, I can't see any problems, more than likely a bad update, MS will fix this week.Well, no. It's gotten worse. I started getting the 1719 error, and have searched the web high and low for anything to fix it. I followed instructions that don't work (or don't work anymore). I can't reinstall windows, because the disc is now so old, vs the updated service packed version on the machine.I tried a fix from MS to fix installer issues, but it died on the vine - can't find the server, try again later.The guts of the problem? I have a number of stuck windows updates just dying to be done, but they won't install. One does, but it's back upon reboot.
As soon as I log in Acrobat 8 Standard tries to update; but I get the 1719 error and the update ends. Same with office. It has apparently tried to install SP3, but with zero success.I can run it from the run line in the start box but when I click on Word, it wants to finish SP3, but blows when it can't find it.

Yesterday, I was reading an article about a program that removes every crumb left behind from uninstalling programs, sniffing out all junk files and had some useful tools on it. It's called Reno Uninstaller and I tried it out on XP Pro and it found over 400MB of junk files, bits of uninstalled files and their registry entries and other crap.
Having nothing to lose on that laptop, I cleaned them. Is this program safe for Windows 7, and is there such a thing as too much cleaning when it comes to programs that you no longer use or want to uninstall. When you use it to uninstall, it claims that there's no trace of it left behind. Is this a safe alternative to the default Windows program, or could I be flirting with disaster?

Running Win7 64bit. Have spent hours on various forums with a ton of "so called solutions.Windows Installer doesn't show up under services at all. Can't find a download to reinstall since it should use v5. The v4.5 won't install.
none of my error sounds are working!!! it doesn't matter if they are the default sounds or custom ones, they won't work!!! they won't even work when I go into system sounds and hit 'test' still no sound played but if I navigate to C:\windows\media and double click the sound files, they play in Windows Media Player just fine they just won't work when the error sound needs to I tried restarting the computer but still NONE of my error sounds will work!!! I also tried to reassociate the error sounds in the system sound setting but still won't sound the startup and shutdown sounds DO NOT work either.
I go to install the drivers and i reboot, yes i did everything correctly. even tryed vista drivers. I try to open up ATI control panel which is showing that its there and i get an error message. I goto the directx tool and its showing nothing for my display. which is very odd? It shows my card in device manager. Somehow i think my card and the drivers are not connecting. Ive tried to clean install the drivers probably 10 different times and nothing has worked.

Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available". i went to Orange and they said the problem might be the O/S bt my technician checked it and its ok. i was givn a patch application at orange and still the problem is nt solved. um using Windows 7 Home Basic laptop, Intel Pentium processor P6100 with a 3GB ddr3 memory nd 320GB HDD. but it works well with my Pentium 4 desktop.
It's a Toshiba Laptop with Windows 7 Installed. (Original Copy). However, just about 2 day's back, I could not use my Microphone Inbuilt as it was not working. Fyi, the Speakers are working perfectly. Have checked the Laptop and found the Drivers all installed, but could not find any error. We have been using this Laptop for mostly skype calls and used extensively. It would be almost 3 months now. But just a couple of days back that the Mic did not start functioning.
I had the same 3 updates continually installing everytime I logged on. They were sucessful in update history but kept comming back. I ran the system rediness tool, but it didn't help. I ran the microsoft fix it soultions for windows update normal then aggressive. Now I get this error while checking for updates. I tried to run sfc /scannow and then sfc /verifyonly but get the following error: windows resource protection could not perform the required operation. I also tried to install the latest service pack got the following error: error_sxs_componet_store_corrupt(0x80073712). When I look at programs->installed updates nothing listed, also when I look at programs->turn on/off windows features nothing listed.
So I'm not exactily sure when it happened? From the sounds of it, it was when installing the mircrosoft updates sometime last week?? Anywho.. I noticed when trying to run ANY troubleshooter on my Windows 7 (starter, weak I know). Wether it be a network troubleshooter, or the windows update trouble shooter.. any of them I always get one of the following errors: 0x8007045D or 0x800705B4. The further along I got, the more my comp would freeze up, NOT RESPONDING.... 5 minutes to unfreeze each action, then 2 seconds beofre it would freeze up all over again. GRR. So with my own style of troubleshooting.. System Restore... Nope. Didn't fix it. Tried the "FIX-IT" from MS website, as there were known UPDATE issues that sounded similaar.
But it didn't work either. Then saw the recommended CMD, scannow thingy... But no matter how many times I try.. it always freezes at 55% even leaving it on over night. Sigh. I bought the Editors Keys Studio Series SL300 Microphone. The Mic is supposed to have all of the required drivers already installed inside of it so that when you plug it into the computer it will be ready to go (it's a USB Mic btw). The problem is when I plug the mic in, it says that the USB Audio Device is not working properly. When I look under the properties for that device it says: Device Status-This device cannot start. (Code 10). I've tried troubleshooting the device and everything but nothing is working. All of the other devices installed in the mic are working properly, just not this one. Since it won't work properly the mic does not even get detected by my laptop, it doesn't show up under detected recording devices.
I've been using the same outlook 2010 for over a year now, with no problems..2 days ago I started getting 'Microsoft Outlook has stopped working' messages. The message pops up every time after about 30 seconds from starting Outlook. I've made another outlook account under a different windows profile and it works just fine..so not sure what the problem is. I've tried to make a new acct on the original profile, but still doesnt work.
ive been having a problem with internet explorer crashing since i bought my laptopim using ie9 and i keep getting the msg saying internet explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close (i appoligize if its not the exact words). than it closes all my programs down. i dont know if it has to do with another problem i have been having while playing facebook games and watching movies using flash player. right out of the blue my game or movie (whichever im doing) freezes than either says i need to update flashplayer or it just shows a big "!" were my game or movie should be.
Lately whenever I attempt to install a new application I get the "application has stopped working" error message. Has happened now with several different applications. Sometimes I get an installation error 1001. Does anyone know why this occurs? Do I have a corrupt system file or registry? I have tried several different registry cleaners to no avail.
I constantly get a loop of "Windows Explorer has stopped working" errors. I've been trying to resolve this for hours now, I've looked at other threads similar to my problem but nothing seems to work. I'm currently on Safe Mode as this is the only way I can do anything without getting the error.

i am running windows 7 home premium 64 bit on my core i3 lennovo laptop Problem is that i have been running a 2nd monitor and about a month ago the laptop screen went crazy and stopped working but the monitor kept working so i just went along with that. All has been fine but 2 days ago a tried to log in and the computer froze so i manually restarted it to find the startup repair come up, it did its thing, restarted a few times over a day and then it said that the problem could not be repaired, i tried it again and the same thing happened.I saw the infinite loop tutorial so i tried it and got to the final stages and it said that the action could bot be performed because of an i/o error.I searched around and saw that people have used chkdisk And sfc scannow. I tried these but kep geting the same messge about the i/o error.
My mom has an HP Mini 210-1044NR laptop. It no longer boots up right. I've tried to get the desktop screen to load in normal mode and safe mode, yet I keep getting the same error message.It says Windows Explorer has stopped working. Windows can check online for a solution to the problem the next time you go online.If I click close the program, it gives her a black screen and nothing happens. I cannot get to the start menu, even. I'm using Alienware desktop with ATI Radeon 5900 graphic Card I have problem though whenever I play World of Warcraft game not always but a lot of times I get a blue screen error but before the blue screen error I get disconnected from the game then It tells me that my display adapter stopped working somehow..I don't know why then the blue screen of death appears and my pc get restarted I have this problem for 3 months now
everytime i right click on a file my windows explorer is stopped working.With some files it works but 9/10 not.
I have already tried: -deleted .reg files. -disable enable context files with autoruns or shellexview -replace explorer.exe -replace shell32.dll -deleted broken .reg files with Ccleaner.exe
