Frequent 'application Has Stopped Working' Error Messages
May 2, 2011
Lately whenever I attempt to install a new application I get the "application has stopped working" error message. Has happened now with several different applications. Sometimes I get an installation error 1001. Does anyone know why this occurs? Do I have a corrupt system file or registry? I have tried several different registry cleaners to no avail.
For about the past 3 month I have started to see fairly frequent app crashes with the "application has stopped working error". It appears this started the week of 4/8 (from what I can tell via Reliability Monitor.)Here are some of the applications that have been affected:Zune.exewlmail.exeMicrosoft intellipointWindows Desktop GadgetsSkypeehshell.exeI did not make any major system/application changes (besides plugging in a new wireless keyboard temporarily)My system is a Dell XPS 420 running Windows 7 Ultimate x86 (about 4 years old). OS runs on a 100GB SSD that was clean installed about 22 months ago.Trying to find out if there is some larger issue
problem is that when i start up my computer i get a box that pops up twice which says ''Catalyst Control Centre: host application has stopped working...windows can check online for a solution to the problem....now ive run 'Driver Genius' to update all drivers but the boxes still pop up, it doesent seem to be affecting the computer in anyway but its kinda annoying
I have for some time had problems with my computer slowing down and suffering from frequent bouts of 'Not Responding' on applications, mainly Internet Explorer and Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel. My computer is now at the stage where it is periodically unusable?

I've been using the same outlook 2010 for over a year now, with no problems..2 days ago I started getting 'Microsoft Outlook has stopped working' messages. The message pops up every time after about 30 seconds from starting Outlook. I've made another outlook account under a different windows profile and it works just fine..so not sure what the problem is. I've tried to make a new acct on the original profile, but still doesnt work.
ive been having a problem with internet explorer crashing since i bought my laptopim using ie9 and i keep getting the msg saying internet explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close (i appoligize if its not the exact words). than it closes all my programs down. i dont know if it has to do with another problem i have been having while playing facebook games and watching movies using flash player. right out of the blue my game or movie (whichever im doing) freezes than either says i need to update flashplayer or it just shows a big "!" were my game or movie should be.
I constantly get a loop of "Windows Explorer has stopped working" errors. I've been trying to resolve this for hours now, I've looked at other threads similar to my problem but nothing seems to work. I'm currently on Safe Mode as this is the only way I can do anything without getting the error.
Here is AppCrash report: Version=1 EventType=APPCRASH EventTime=129004320084720403 ReportType=2 ...........
I have no restore points in system restore, already tried.
My mom has an HP Mini 210-1044NR laptop. It no longer boots up right. I've tried to get the desktop screen to load in normal mode and safe mode, yet I keep getting the same error message. It says Windows Explorer has stopped working. Windows can check online for a solution to the problem the next time you go online. If I click close the program, it gives her a black screen and nothing happens. I cannot get to the start menu, even. Ctrl + Alt + Del brings up task manager, but it doesn't really give me much to work with.I did have the desktop loaded at one point, but then it all froze up and shut down. The problem details are:Problem Event Name: InPageErrorError Status Code: c0000010Faulting Media Type: 00000003OS Version:6.1.7600.2.0.0.768.11Locale ID: 1033Is there any way to fix this? Maybe bring the desktop back up? Or even get to the start menu to run something and fix it? I am going crazy trying to figure out what to do
everytime i right click on a file my windows explorer is stopped working. With some files it works but 9/10 not.
I have already tried: -deleted .reg files. -disable enable context files with autoruns or shellexview -replace explorer.exe -replace shell32.dll -deleted broken .reg files with Ccleaner.exe

I tried to replace 3 files in the system 32 folder, and must have made a mistake along the way leaving my laptop inaccessible once logged on. The three files were:
uxtheme.dll themeui.dll themeservice.dll
I received these error messaged when logged on:dwm.exe - Application error the application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b). Click ok to close the application.explorer.exe - Application error the application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b). Click ok to close the application. Can system restore revert back the files so it was like i never attempted the patch?
Application is actually a game .previously it was working perfectly. But now whenever i tried to open it, it gives that error "application has stop working" . i also tried uninstalling that game and installed it again but the problem persists . i m using windows 7 professional 64 bit on hp probook 4520s
I have the following script on an XP computer and it successfully detects whether an application has stopped or is not responding. It kills if required and restarts. But it doesn't work on Windows 7. How can I either fix, or do the same thing another way on Windows 7? On XP if the app is not running then "%TEMP%TaskStatus.tmp.txt" ends up empty. On windows 7 it ends up with the string "INFO: ...." in it. So checking for size 0 doesn't work. I tried doing the same thing as done lower in the script but checking for Info: instead of SUCCESS: but it doesn't work for some reason.
I open a file (name.txt) and select open with option and select program Notepad to open all files with the extension of .txt. After pressing enter, I receive the above message.I have run sfc.exe with the scannow option and it found no errors.I am at a loss on how to resolve this issue.
I am on my computer, I continuously get the "Windows Explorer has stopped working.." error, and then "Windows Explorer is restarting.."It doesn't matter what I am doing, and it occurs roughly every 1 minute. Sometimes less.I'm not sure what the problem is. It started happening randomly about two days ago, and I had not installed anything that I could remember. I have since scanned my computer with Malwarebytes, Windows Defender, Spybot Search & Destroy, and the Microsoft Malicious Malware Removal Tool. [CODE]
I have just moved from Windows Vista to a brand new installation of Windows 7. I thought that I was leaving this problem behind, but apparently it's following me.The installation can't be more than a week old.I received the following message that popped up when I had no programs running, save for some system tray programs that are always running. I had one folder open on the Desktop, and the only other thing that might relate to it is a USB drive that is in perfect working order:"Windows Explorer has stopped working. (new line) A program caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. [Close Program button]"So, I hit [Close Program]. It didn't offer any solutions, or even seem to notice that anything happened, except for closing that single folder that I'd opened (which had been opened previously as well). There are no viruses running around, there is no malware. The hardware all checks out. What is happening? A duplicate error message on a brand new install of a different operating system? The really annoying thing is that I cannot correlate it to anything. No programs, no consistent time between errors, nothing. Just pops up. Which makes it doubly hard to diagnose, of course
I have an HP compaq with dual core and amd radeon graphics...windows 7...lately my videos will not continue without having to revamp...so-to-speak...(in other words..I have to wait to hear and see video). Now I am receiving a message that catalyst control centre: host application has stopped working. What do I need to do to fix this problem?
I have been getting BSOD's with the USB_BUG_CODE error. It used to be once every few months but it seems to be getting more frequent. I have attached the zip file with the information compiled by the diagnostic tool.
I m using windows 7 , 64bit, i m getting this process crash every time, it repeats itself 10-15 times and then stops for a while and then again.MS Essential not detecting anything..
I've been suffering more or less frequent BSODs for a while. They usually come when I'm playing something, ranging from Orcs Must Die to Fallout 3. Most often they appear when I'm on Skype, chatting with people while playing Magicka or League of Legends. These BSODs are often accompanied with loud, "buzzing" sound which disappears only after the computer reboots itself. There have been many kinds of files which seem to be the cause behind the crash such as win32k.sys, dxgmms1.sys, nvlddmkm.sys, usbohci.sys and so on, but I don't know what to do about them.I've updated my GFX, chipset and soundboard (I think, it's integrated) drivers and flashed the BIOS. I've also reinstalled the OS once, few months ago I guess. I've checked RAM with memtest, turned out fine, same with hard drives. I haven't monitored computer temps very closely, but I have removed the side of the case so the air should be flowing freely. The crashes are also quite random.
Got a new PC couple of weeks ago and have been having problems from day 1. I am getting increasingly regular blue screens. It's not just when trying to load software, or actually do anything. It can be sitting idling and suddenly it dies on me.

my computer has been running great. just last week, it started randomly producing the BSOD. I have several dump files. I've tried analyzing them with WinDbg but I get nothing but errors: Unable to load image SystemRootsystem32 .exe, Win32 error 0n2 can some analyze my dump files, and tell me if I have bad memory or bad motherboard?
