helping a friend fixing his Internet access on his Windows 7 machine. The machine was previously on a wired connection, and was working fine for 2 years. But the machine was moved, and an USB wifi dongle was purchased. And now he can't get online.Started debugging with disabling IPv6 on the connection. Diasbles firewall. Uninstalled two antivirus programs. No luck. Then tried to reset the TCP/IP stack with: netsh winsock reset catalog and netsh int ip reset reset.logThe I came over this post, and followed all the steps in flyguy747's answer. Still no luck.I downloaded and ran Farbar service scanner, but could not find any MD5 error on any of dll's.what i should try next?

Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1 (X64)
On July 12th 2012, my computer installed updates. After rebooting and waiting for me on the login screen, I gave it a hard shutdown to check on the BIOS settings (for a little side project, in the end I did not save any changes). After booting and logging in again, I find that many services are not running. I ran a very thorough check for malware and viruses (took over 24 hours to complete), and still no solutions. I have uninstalled/reinstalled my Broadcom 802.11g Wireless Driver several times.
I now look in the Event Viewer and find that the DHCP Client service is not running! It is set to automatic start in Services.msc, but when I try to manually start it, it gives me error 1075 (some dependencies do not exist or are marked for deletion). Running ipconfig, I notice that my system is using an APIPA-formatted address (169.254.x.x), indicating that the computer couldn't find a DHCP server.
My Event Viewer is peppered with: Event 7003, Service Control Manager The DHCP Client service depends the following service: Afd. This service might not be installed. Event 7001, Service Control Manager The WinHTTP Web Proxy Auto-Discovery Service service depends on the DHCP CLient service which failed to start because of the following error: The dependcy service does not exist or has been marekd for deletion.
And that keeps repeating many times in a minute (about 30-40 cycles of it).
I am trying to connect my xbox wired to my computer, and sharing a vpn connect to xbox. My computer connect wirelesly to a router, my xbox is connecte wired to my pc. I've created a vpn service on the sharing tab of the vpn service I open a combo to share this vpn with the xbox lan. The problem is that after connecting to the vpn, I have "no internet access" at the xbox lan, if I delete the vpn service, Ido have a internet connection. I tried the other way by making a bridge connection with my wireless and xbox lan, but with this connection I cant connect to the vpn. The reason that I need the vpn service is to "fake" my region over the net and buy games, watch netflix etc.
Last week I hit an issue whereby I was unable to access the Internet wirelessly even though my laptop could see the router and had a good signal. I tried connecting up via an ethernet cable to no avail.
The issue seems to have started right after a Windows Update but I can't be 100% certain. If I do ipconfig /all I can see that DHCP is not enabled. I know the router is fine because my vista laptop can access wirelessly via the router fine. I tried doing some things I seen in the forum such as ipconfig /renew etc. but it said it couldn't contact the RPC server. I followed this up and was recommended to check the DHCP client service was started. It isn't even there. I was wondering if the update could have removed it.
Someone else who had reported the same issue on this forum was asked to do a system restore. I did this and the service is still not there. I am assuming that the non-existence of the DHCP client is the cause of my issues accessing the Internet.
With my new computer I have been using my old laptop to connect to my wireless network (since my new computer doesn't have a wireless adapter) through the Internet Connection Sharing function in Windows 7. This all worked fine for about a week but then suddenly I cannot connect to the internet anymore. I discovered that this was because the Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) service was not started. I tried starting it but I just get an error saying "The Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) service on Local Computer started then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they are not in use by other services or programs."
I use win7 In order to access the internet i click the access icon, click log on and up pops firefox. I would like to be able to automate the access process on switch on but am unable to do this. I have tried to modify the start up folder but no success.
I have a Dell XPS M1730 with Windows 7 Ultimate and it was doing an iTunes update and the lid got closed during the update process. Now when I start the computer up it says "the user profile service service failed the login, user profile cannot be loaded". The computer starts up in safe mode and won't let me do a system restore because it says it is shut off. When I look at User Profiles in Windows 7, it states that the users profile is as backup and the default profile is the local profile. How can I fix my computer to get my user profile back up and working?
I never had this issue on Windows Vista, occasionally my internet will randomly dropout. Limited Internet Access". When it does I can do a few things to get it working again:
- Disable, then enable my wireless card and reconnect. - Uninstall the card, then re-install and reconnect. - Disconnect from the internet myself and reconnect.
Either way it gets super frustrating. There is 1 other computer plugged directly into the router that does not experience any issues. In addition, I have 1 laptop (windows 7) that works great and 1 laptop (Windows XP) which works great.
This is my first time here. I'm having a problem with my workstation service. The service won't start, so the services depending on workstation won't start neither. I get error 1068, but the network store interface service is started. I've tried to run sfc /scannow, but there are no problems there.I'm running win 7 64bit?
I am having an issue with Windows Search Service. Almost every time I boot (in the morning), the Search service is disabled. Either I have to repair the function, or go into Services and restart it. Each time I do, I set the Windows Search service to start automatically. Sometimes it does, and sometimes not. This has been going on for several months. It got so bad; I installed another search program that worked just fine. But in the end, I actually reformatted my HD and reinstalled all apps and restored Documents. For a couple of weeks, everything was fine. Now it has started again.
I have tried every fix that seemed reasonable and that I found online. My virus software (AVG) finds nothing. I checked all the Windows components and they are correct. No repair needed.

Got a Dell laptop with Wn7 premium and I noticed windows update was not up to date. Checked manually and it said Windows security center is not turned on, tried to turn it on and all I got was it won't start.
I checked and I uninstalled a Norton AV that was a come with, I rebooted and I still have same issue. I havent been able to keep Win 7 updated. I am using McAfee for AV, it seems to be working fine.
I have a Toshiba laptop with 64 bit Windows 7 Home Premium installed.
Although it has updated in the past, I am now not able to start the Windows Update Service. There is no malware on the system and I have tried several methods found on the internet such as resetting the service. I have also been unable to install MATS RunWindowsUpdate.
if servicename is running, do nothing.if servicename is not running, then start servicename, then record the date and time.based on my search online, here is what I have so far.

It looks like that the If statement is not working. Every time I run this batch file, it runs through all the command lines.and I got a error message said the service is already running.
I created a new Windows Service using C#. And Created a windows application to CREATE SERVICE, START SERVICE, STOP SERVICE and DELETE the SERVICE. This application is working fine when the UAC is turned OFF. When the UAC isturned ON then none of the above operations are working.1. Can i create a Service without Admin Rights, for creating am using the following
I am currently running Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and one morning, my audio stopped working. I discovered audio stopped working because the Windows Audio Service, which relied on the Windows Audio Endpoint Builder service, which relied on the Power service, all stopped working. So to solve my audio problems, I must first start the Power service. However when I try to start it, it gives the following message:Windows could not start the Power service on Local Computer.Error 127: The specified procedure could not be found.
New computer build with fresh install of Windows 7 (64) on formatted hard drive. I have no printers installed and am allowing window to download all updates. I can't install any printers as windows print spooler service is not loaded. If I go to services, and attempt to start the service, I get an error message that says "Windows could not start the Print spooler service on Local Computer" "Error 1053; The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion".
All dependant services are loaded and running. I have restored the computer to an earlier point and was able to determine the spooler services are running. I continue to allow updates and at some point the service becomes corrupted again. I check in services.msc after every restart. I can't seem to figure out what's corrupting the spooler service. I've even gone as far as to re-install a system image created just after all motherboard divers where installed. The service appears to be working fine and during the process of doing Windows updates, after a random restart, it's not working again. Once it stops working it never comes back until I do a system restore.
When my computer says Internet Access, I am having trouble browsing. Most pages do not load.Right now, It says no internet access for over 15 minutes and I am able to brose so much better and still going on downloading around 400 kb/s.(I am on a wired connection from a cable internet with NetGear CGD24G Cable Modem (I don't think it is a wireless router). There is wireless connection on the modem, but I am on a wired connection, and I am posting this while it still says no internet access).
I have been trying to enable the search feature on my windows 7 64-bit machine but when I attempt to do so, or use indexing, nothing seems to happen. When I try to enable windows search in services I get "Windows could not start the Windows Search service on Local Computer - error 5 access denied."
When I detect problems in search and indexing it tells me windows search service is not running but lists the error as not fixed. When I try to manually add a config folder in the ProgramData - Microsoft - Search - Data folder it erases itself after a few seconds.
This account has full admin control, I don't get it. I even tried to do this through the hidden admin account.
This laptop is only a month old but I can't turn the search feature on. I think maybe if I modify it to not include the external in indexing it would not mess up, but I can't even touch the modify button without enabling windows search, which is currently impossible.
I ran across an issue when I booted my computer this morning. One of the tray icons was missing that usually shows and my cursor was spinning non-stop. Not to mention nothing else worked. It was frozen, so I pressed the power button and restarted it that way,Normal, not in safe mode.I'm sending 2 Snips to show you what I think was the reason for this. gupdate is set for Auto(Delayed) start in services. When I went in there and looked gupdate was no started at either time. The first time 9:35:58am was when this whole mess started. I just happened to go back an hour later to look in Event Viewer and it was listed again and still not started with the same explanation.Would this have caused this freeze or crash and is there anything that can be done to rectify this deal? I know some people disable gupdate and everything to do with it but I do not want to get into this.
A flag is appearing in the bottom right corner on my laptop running windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit version. On opening the action center by clicking on flag the message appears "Windows Security Center Service (Important) - The windows Security Center service is turned off" Next to this message is a button "Turn on now". When I click on the button gets an error message "windows security service can't be started". no details. checked my laptop for any virus, torjan, malware etc. using 3 different tools: McAfee, Windows malicious software removal tool, Malwarebytes No virus or suspecious programs try to start the security services manually using services.
Below error has been keep popping in Windows 7 Event Viewer whenever I bootup my system, I had even format my system drive and it still happening.I also have observed that now my PC took a little while more to load. The WinRing0_1_2_0 service failed to start due to the following error:The system cannot find the file specified.Attached is the screenshot of the error.
The service is set to disabled which is re3stricting me to connect a bluetooth device. So i go into services to change the service to automatic, but an error message comes up saying "system cannot find the path specified"

I cant start Volume Shadow Copy Error is:The system cannot find path specified. Error 3 But I do have VSSVC.exe in my system32 folder I have this in registry under description @%systemroot%system32vssvc.exe,-101 I think that everything is ok, Remote Procedure Call (RPC) is running
I have created a service using the following command in cmd prompt:sc \computername create servicename binpath= C:WindowsSystem32sam.exeThen in the service list, I could see my service. When I right clicked on the service and clicked on Start , I am getting a pop-up with the following error: Windows could not start the newservice4 service on Local Computer.Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.
I am trying to upgrade my son's laptop from Vista to Windows 7. My son's computer is a Toshiba Qosmio and I ran the Toshiba Upgrade Tool with no problems. The problem I have now is that the virtual memory service is not starting so when I start the install of windows 7, I get the error "windows could not retrieve information about disks on this computer". I tried to manually start the service and get the error "service failed to start".
If I put it on automatic, it just stays on "starting". Obviously, this is not allowing windows 7 to see my disks. Disk management does not show my disks due to virtual memory service not being able to start. The computer is ready for the upgrade, just can't get passed this problem. I don't want to use the recovery disks if I can help it.
I've a jar file which contains a very simple program of displaying "Hello" message in the console.I've pasted the code at the end of this thread.I want to run this jar file as a windows service. This service gets started without any hiccup,However,It simply wouldn't start the service.
I've tried running this service as using NET and Sc command. But in vain.Below is the error i'm facing C:Windowssystem32>sc start MajaService [SC] StartService FAILED with error 193.
Further, as a workaround I created a .bat file for executing this .jar file and again tried creating a window service for this .bat file,In this event i get the followingh error:
[SC] StartService FAILED 1053:
The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.
and below is my program: ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- import java.io.*; class Hello implements Runnable {
