I've checked the bios, task scheduler, power settings. I can'y figure out why it is booting up every day at 3am. I can replicate by changing the clock to just befor 3am and then shutdown.
View 9 RepliesI have been having this problem for the past 2 months now where my computer would not start after complete shutdown, but if i start the computer press F8 and boot in safe mode it boots ok and if i restart it, the computer starts back fine. I have tried diagnostic tests on my hardware (HDD, RAM, CPU, MB) and all have passed. Neither has there been any voltage fluctuations or any type of physical damage to my computer hardware
View 3 Replies View Relatedtoday I was cleaning around my computer area and well was dusting where my computer sits and I pushed it too far out and it fell and hit the ground. It was on too and the monitor lost signal even though the VGA cord was plugged in...Since I couldn't properly shut it off by going to start etc etc I just held the power button till it shutdown..I thought my video card got loose so I hit the kill switch unplugged it and checked everything,but it was all fine. When I plugged it back in,it turned on and well kinda lagged on start up,more than usual...I figured everything was fine until I shut it down and after it was off like 5 seconds later it turned on by itself?? I checked my motherboard and components for any damage or cracks but couldn't find anything. Now this I do not mind,i'm just afraid that it'll cause damage to my PC or cause my motherboard to fry or something because now in order to keep it off from starting byitself I have to shutdown then quickly hit the kill switch,sometimes I dont do it fast enough and the computer slightly turns on,too fast to stop me from switching it off. Also when I hit the killswitch to off and then switch it back on.the pc refuses to start itself until I push the ON button and shutdown again.

View 12 Replies View Relatedhave a big issue with Windows 7. It freezes all the time, multiple times every single day since i've installed.
I'm running x64 Build 7600 with a plenty good enough computer.
It seems to freeze at the most random times for small things, mostly when browsing the internet, doesn't matter which browser i'm using it will freeze randomly while loading a page. Sometimes it will freeze while opening a folder, or picture. And my screen will not wake up after sitting for about a hour or so.
I have the latest motherboard and video card drivers, i put the newest firmware on my Intel SSD, i've updated my Bios, Reinstalled 7 many times.
Also i've pulled the Cmos battery and completely reset my bios, thought that could of helped, but did nothing. Is 7 not working well with my SSD or what?
For the last few weeks I've had an issue that occurs the same exact time every day. At exactly 12am, any game that I'm playing or video that I'm watching stutters for about 3 secs. Both the video (FPS if a game) and audio are affected. I've done a search in the event viewer custom views, windows logs, and application and service logs and can't find any warning or event that happens at 12am.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI had been having problems previously with this same system getting multiple BSOD everyday with varying messages on them. I was told after it was looked at that I had corruption in my registry and the easiest solution was to just re-install Windows. I went ahead and did that and even after a fresh install i'm still getting BSOD. I tried several re-installs and have been getting the same issues every time. There doesn't seem to be any kind of pattern to it doing it, just happens here and there. It doesn't seem to be the same frequency it used to but it's still happening. The only message i've seen thus far is "Memory_Management". During this last re-install, all I did was install Windows 7 Ultimate x64, loaded the necessary, updated drivers for my graphics card and motherboard and just left it, still got the blue screen.

Ever since then the Boot and Shutdown times have increased to over 15 minutes. I have run the msconfig unticking all but the antivirus (Kaspersky) and it still takes >15 min to boot and Shutdown. Then when i reboot, the update icon is still there. I'm thinking since the two updates are failing, it has something to do with the 1of1 update not downloading properly. I went to windows update to check for new updates, and the only one is the two that keep failing. My computer just blue screened on shutdown today, winch got me thinking i really need to fix this.

I have the Phenom ll 3.2ghz 1090T amd cpu with the ASRock 970 Extreme 3 mobo with 2x4gb Corsair Vengeance ram. My problem is that when I try to use my ram, my pc freezes on the Starting windows screen while the bubbles are coming together to make the microsoft logo. I am using my old ram that is a 2gb 1333 ram. I have another stick of the same ram but I am unable to use that as well. My OS has all its updates and I am completely stuck right now and a lil frustrated. I have consulted many people and nothing has worked.

(Bios showed 2 DVD drives in boot selection menu when i have only one).I completed the installation and when rebooted the windows returned with error "disk read error occurred-press ctrl+Alt+del to restart) and this continues for 3-4 times and suddenly 5th attempt will boot my windows.sometimes it will only boot after i enter the BIOS>Boot Menu>Boot Priority and select BOOT OVERRIDE option.

I was opening and reading documents off my flash drive when all of a sudden it turned off and proceeded to restart. Upon passing the POST screen, it comes to an error page that says boot device not found. Just FYI I have a WD 250GB boot drive and two additional Samsung 1TB drives set up in RAID 1 NTFS. So I look in BIOS for my boot drive and find it there and it says its working. However, when I try to set the WD boot drive as the first boot device, it does not show it as an option at all. Only my raid drive shows up along with removable drive, and cd drive.I need some ideas as to what could have caused this. The WD drive is a few years old, but I don't think the drive would have just died like that; there were no previous cues for the hard drive starting to fail. It still shows up in BIOS and powers up.I wanna hope that the MBR was somehow corrupted, which should be an easy repair I think if I can get my hands on the ISO file. Also, it's Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I installed windows I had both my ssd and my hard drive plugged in, but when it wanted me to select a drive to boot to I highlighted the ssd and clicked next.It installed windows on it and all is good. But then when I went to change some stuff in the bios, I noticed it had my 1tb hard drive as the boot device. Windows is installed to the sdd so I was really confused by this. I tried making the ssd the first boot device but it didn't work, so I just changed it back to my hard drive for now, but I would like to know what's going on. Looking in the windows partition manager right now it does say my ssd is the boot drive. But my hdd does have a system reserved partition on it that's listed as system and active, my ssd is listed as boot and crash dump. Here's a picture of what I'm talking about.
