View 9 RepliesMy issue is that i would like to be able to have media center audio play only through my tv and not through my pc main speaker system, tv is hooked through hdmi output on graphics card, speaker system through 5.1 output on motherboard. I have tried the audiorenderupdater extender but all that does is set default audio out for entire system, so when itunes is used or game is played on computer audio goes through tv. I would like all system noises, media player, and game audio to run through pc speakers and simultaneously all media center audio (recorded/live tv) to go through tv audio, so i can watch sports center while playing mass effect and have audio from sportscenter on tv audio from mass effect on pc speakers.
Also is there a way to separate media player's actions from media center's. For example if you are laying music in media player and then open media center and play a tv show, music playback stops, not a big deal just like media player better than itunes and would like to be able to watch tv in media center while playing music in media player rather than itunes

I tried searching on this forum for similar issues, most of them have been corrected by changing shell icon folder from regedit. I can locate that on my system.
I'm going to install a fresh copy of Windows 7 on a desktop PC. Now it's going to be added to a domain, and not use local workgroup. Therefore I don't want to mess around with setting up an account, and deleting it after joining the domain. Is there any way to skip setting up an account, and just use the local administrator account - or even join it onto the domain directly?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using Windows 7 Professional on an HP Envy laptop.I hate windows live mail.I do have Office 2010 installed and only use the contacts and calendar programs.I do not use Outlook.I have copied Vistas Winmail.exe program to Win 7 and reinstalled all my mail and settings from before with no problem. It works and I am reasonably happy. However, I cannot set it to default for .eml or mailto: links. I have been to the Control Panel and Default Programs.looked in "Set your default programs" and Windows Mail is not an option. It does not appear there at all.been to "Set program access and computer defaults" and set it as default under Custom.I tried going to the "Associate a file type or protocol with a program", found the .eml and mailto links and tried to change the program associated to Winmail.exe by browsing to the file and selecting it. But the file is grayed out and cannot be accepted as a change. The WinMail.exe file is also grayed out when you browse to it in Explorer, as it is a hidden file.

Anyway, side effect of it: it hides a bunch of your files so it can do its malware thing. Solution: I unhid everything on my C: to avoid any problems. My first question is: when I boot up my comp, and I have to pick either vista or Windows 7 (I have Windows 7 on another partition), I usually leave the room while my comp is booting, so after 30 seconds the BIOS picks Windows 7 as the default OS because its first. I would really like to boot up my pc while doing something else, and I would love for the BIOS to pick Vista after 30 seconds instead of Windows 7 because I use Vista for games and such. Is there some way of doing that or do I have to sit around throughout the start up and manually pick Vista?
My second question seems a little picky or over the edge, but when I boot up my comp and have to pick an OS, it prints "Windows 7" while underneath it it prints out "Microsoft Windows Vista". Is there some way to add 'Microsoft' in front of Windows 7 when Im picking in the BIOS? It doesn't look as good without the Microsoft.
