WEI Ssd Wrong Score?
Jul 3, 2012
My SSD was running on a wei score of 7.8, i have done nothing recently to cause this to change but i checked up on my wei score recently and suddenly its back to 5.9 .I discovered the problem is that in the detailed analysis, and its reading my HDD as the primary hard disk.I refreshed the wei and it still comes out as 5.9, i have no idea why this has happenedthere is no reason for it to have happened as i have changed nothing as of recent. So basically my question is how do i make wei read my ssd instead of my hdd as the primary hard disk like it was before?

I am having the strangest readings from WEI.
Currently I am running Corsair 4 x 1GB PC6400 DDR2 RAM (5-5-5-18). At stock speeds, WEI is reporting a score of 5.5.
My roommate also has 4 x 1GB of DDR2 with SAME timings and he is getting a WEI score of 7.1. A HUGE difference.
I have tried overclocking my RAM to 4-4-4-12 at 900MHz and 2.1V. WEI STILL reports a 5.5 rating.
I have also recently bought 2 x 2GB DDR2 G-Skill RAM with 5-5-5-15 timings. WEI STILL gives a 5.5 rating.
I have also tried running 2 x 1GB of my Corsair RAM... HALF of what I usually run. WEI STILL gives a 5.5 rating.
Also, on the Sticky thread in this forum about memory assessment, mine hovers around 5863 MB/s... I've seen people post in there with slower timings then what I have mine overclocked at and get faster speeds...
Edit: I just put my RAM back to default timings... I am still getting the same MB/s rate. WHY?!
Edit: Roommate just ran winsat mem in the command console and got a 7000 MB/s rating whereas I am getting 5863... he has the SAME RAM just different companies.
What the crap is going on? Massively overclocking my RAM doesn't even change the rating slightly. Any help into this would be awesome.

I get 5.9 on my ram, why is it so low?
It seems to be fast, but not according to WEI.
What's your memory assessment speed?

Since switching to Windows 7 x64 my hard drive is only scoring 2.9 in WEI. Under Vista it was 5.6 or something around there. Is there a reason for this?

As my hard disk, I have a 1TB Western Digital Caviar Black Edition.. it's 7200RPM, 32MB cache. Yet, WEI only gives it a score of 5.9. Everything else on my PC is a 7.0 or above.. any reason for that?

Recently I wanted to check out WinXP. I installed it and it ran pretty good. But Since I use Dx 10 for some of my gaming I decided Re-install 7. When I returned to 7 I noticed WEI giving me a lower score then what I used to have. I used to have a 4.2 Aero / 5.4 Gaming graphics. Now its showing at best a 3.8 Aero / 5.3 Gaming graphics score. I say at best because first going into Windows after the re-install it showed 3.7 Aero / 5.2 Gaming. And at the 2nd day in use 3.8 Aero / 5.3 Gaming. I did everything normal as always, installed DX update, Java, Flash, Visual C+. So maybe it just needs time to improve itself or maybe I'm missing something I don't know. The Graphics Driver is up to date and is setup as it always was when I had the high score. I know Windows 7 Improves Performance over time with superfetch so I'll continue to monitor it.

I'm using the integrated video in an i7 3770 CPU, the Intel HD4000 graphics. The original Intel driver supplied by the motherboard vendor, 8.15.10.2618 gives a Windows Experience Index score of 6.5 for both Graphics and Gaming Graphics.I did a driver scan from Intel and it showed there was a newer video driver available8.15.10.2761. I installed the latest video driver and the WEI score for both Video items dropped to 5.8/5.9I reinstalled the older driver and the WEI score was back to 6.5.

I ran the WEI and gaming graphics is reported at 3.1The gaming score of WEI before i reformatted was 3.5. I have just bought a Acer Aspire 5735 running Vista 32 bit. It has 4gb ram and a Intel 2 duo T6400 processor. I have installed win 7 upgrade and found the performance score dropped from 3.7 to 3.4. The upgrade was installed on Vista as from the factory without any extra software. I have tried to upgrade to Win 7 32 bit but it wont accept that although the computer should be suitable.

When I boot up, I get "password or name incorrect" then i hit enter, then I can put in my password. I just want a "box" like it was before.

[code] On CPU ID (ver 1.59) the max bandwidth for both the RAMS shows only 667MHz. Is this because the PC is idling/ not doing RAM intensive tasks or something else? Im not sure under which Category/sub- category this comes under.

When I start my computer I get a bunch of error messages. Multiple things not working. I've seen a few similar issues posted here and I've tried the suggestions but they didn't work. I've tried running maintenance tasks, but they crash in the middle (related to the error messages I think). I also had the problem of whenever I started my computer or opened it, the internet would shut off. My screen would blink off and then on. I've checked for viruses, run multiple anti-spyware, and tried restoring my computer.

I originally had Vista Ultimate x64 and Windows 7 x64 dual booting fine.
I had a problem with Windows 7 - my fault- needing me to restore an Acronis backup.
I still am able to dual boot but Windows 7 now uses the Vista boot up sequence up to the Welcome screen, i.e. it does not show the sexy new dots morphing into the Windows Logo.
Any ideas where to look for an answer.

So I've decided that I want to use a Western Digital VelociRaptor 150GB for my Win 7 OS C-drive and my WD 500GB drive as my E-drive for files.
The problem is that I thought of this after installing it on the 500GB drive.
Will it be okay to reinstall on the new drive if I delete Win 7 on the old one?
If so, is it pretty simple to reformat a drive with an OS on it?

I attempted to upgrade my Vista Ultimate x64 to Win 7 Ultimate x64 yesterday and the upgrade process failed.
The install rolled back to my Vista install and all is good, but I really want to upgrade to 7 (and not do a clean install)
Can anyone help me out with how to diagnose what may have gone wrong with the upgrade? Is there an install log file somewhere that I can have a look at to discover the problem?
I think I may know the source of the problem, but would like to confirm it before moving forward.
The upgrade did tell me that my Silicon Image RAID controller may not work properly after the upgrade. But I don't have any drives connected to it. My system drive is a RAID 0 array on my Intel ICH8R/ICH9R SATA RAID controller.

I've got a question. I have a computer running windows 7 64 bit, Home Premium. The computer name is "Laptop", verified in Computer -> Properties. I have another computer whose name is "Machine-A". For some weird reason, whenever I do "ping Machine-A" on the command line, it would return pinging from 127.0.0.1 . Why does it think "Machine-A" is the computer name?I did "ipconfig /flushdns", and didn't work. Then I did "ipconfig /flushdns" then "ipconfig /registerdns" and did not fix the problem

I recently installed Windows 7. I have a D-link DIR-615 wireless router in my living room and my computer has an adapter in order to connect to the internet. I had Windows XP and didn't experience any problems before. The problem is that when i typed my network password in (using windows 7), it said that the passphrase was wrong. I reseted my router and used the password and it worked just fine, so i dont think that its the router's or the adapter's fault. When i turned my PC on the next day, i experience the same problem. I cannot connect to my network. I was never asked to put my password in again to connect to the network when i was using XP and i cannot reset my router every time i turn my pc on cause there are other people in the house that are using the network. Other computers, laptops and my iphone can connect just fine.
