View 12 Replies View RelatedNew to Win7 came here from XP 32bit and am trying to get a better understanding of WEI.
This was a good build and I have no stability issues. I eliminated aero theme and use windows 7 basic instead. What starts me down this road is the seemingly low AERO score (4.5). I'm admittedly not intouch with this stuff.
what's wrong with RAM's score? In previous builds was OK (7.x)...
It's DDR3 1333.
I have a macbook air with i7 1,8Ghz 2466M,and in win 7 ultimate edition 32bit my score is 3,3 for proccessor.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy SSD was running on a wei score of 7.8, i have done nothing recently to cause this to change but i checked up on my wei score recently and suddenly its back to 5.9 .I discovered the problem is that in the detailed analysis, and its reading my HDD as the primary hard disk.I refreshed the wei and it still comes out as 5.9, i have no idea why this has happenedthere is no reason for it to have happened as i have changed nothing as of recent. So basically my question is how do i make wei read my ssd instead of my hdd as the primary hard disk like it was before?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am having the strangest readings from WEI.
Currently I am running Corsair 4 x 1GB PC6400 DDR2 RAM (5-5-5-18). At stock speeds, WEI is reporting a score of 5.5.
My roommate also has 4 x 1GB of DDR2 with SAME timings and he is getting a WEI score of 7.1. A HUGE difference.
I have tried overclocking my RAM to 4-4-4-12 at 900MHz and 2.1V. WEI STILL reports a 5.5 rating.
I have also recently bought 2 x 2GB DDR2 G-Skill RAM with 5-5-5-15 timings. WEI STILL gives a 5.5 rating.
I have also tried running 2 x 1GB of my Corsair RAM... HALF of what I usually run. WEI STILL gives a 5.5 rating.
Also, on the Sticky thread in this forum about memory assessment, mine hovers around 5863 MB/s... I've seen people post in there with slower timings then what I have mine overclocked at and get faster speeds...
Edit: I just put my RAM back to default timings... I am still getting the same MB/s rate. WHY?!
Edit: Roommate just ran winsat mem in the command console and got a 7000 MB/s rating whereas I am getting 5863... he has the SAME RAM just different companies.
What the crap is going on? Massively overclocking my RAM doesn't even change the rating slightly. Any help into this would be awesome.
I get 5.9 on my ram, why is it so low?
It seems to be fast, but not according to WEI.
What's your memory assessment speed?
Since switching to Windows 7 x64 my hard drive is only scoring 2.9 in WEI. Under Vista it was 5.6 or something around there. Is there a reason for this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedAs my hard disk, I have a 1TB Western Digital Caviar Black Edition.. it's 7200RPM, 32MB cache. Yet, WEI only gives it a score of 5.9. Everything else on my PC is a 7.0 or above.. any reason for that?

View 4 Replies View RelatedRecently I wanted to check out WinXP. I installed it and it ran pretty good. But Since I use Dx 10 for some of my gaming I decided Re-install 7. When I returned to 7 I noticed WEI giving me a lower score then what I used to have. I used to have a 4.2 Aero / 5.4 Gaming graphics. Now its showing at best a 3.8 Aero / 5.3 Gaming graphics score. I say at best because first going into Windows after the re-install it showed 3.7 Aero / 5.2 Gaming. And at the 2nd day in use 3.8 Aero / 5.3 Gaming. I did everything normal as always, installed DX update, Java, Flash, Visual C+. So maybe it just needs time to improve itself or maybe I'm missing something I don't know. The Graphics Driver is up to date and is setup as it always was when I had the high score. I know Windows 7 Improves Performance over time with superfetch so I'll continue to monitor it.

I have tried to upgrade to Win 7 32 bit but it wont accept that although the computer should be suitable.

View 12 Replies View Relatedi have heard a lot of my friends saying that they are unable to play high resolution and high definition games on their pc and told that they are on a low budget to buy a graphics card.here is a solution for that:there is a software named 3-d analyzer available in the internet which acts as a virtual graphics card for playing games. you can enter the graphic card needed from the 4 available graphic cards available and then you can get the attributes of that graphic card..if fine tuned, you can play games at the range of a 128mb ram virutal graphic card on your non graphic card pc. note:graphic intensive games, that requires atleast 512mb of graphics memory can't be played through 3d analyzer if you don't have a graphic card, but you can try running it if you have a 256/128 mb card. steps for using the 3-d analyzer software, *first download the file from here, *then extract that software and open the software, *then, select the exe file of the game that you want to run, *choose the select option, *then you can choose the attributes the options you require to play the game,*the attributes may be pixel shader or disable rendering in the game or emulation or some other options specified, *then, enter the device id and the vendor id for the graphics card you need from the available graphics card on the right.*i would suggest the ati radeon 9800pro to run most of the games like fifa 08/09 or prince of persia two thrones/sands of time, *then choose the run option and then i assure that the game would run for you at a decent/playable speed. note:1.if it shows any error that a file is not found pls reinstall the software.2.if the screen turns black/blank then play with the options in the s/w, by trial and error method,if fortunate, may be,you'll be able to run your favorite game.3.if pixel shader/shader version x.x not found, then select the appropriate shader model and run the game. all the best..happy gaming..if any queries post it below.how to: use 3d analyzer video at Internet

View 9 Replies View RelatedI've completed a new custom build, but have had problems with BSOD from the beginning with any installation of Intel Graphics drivers or the installation of any graphics card.
When I first completed the build, the XFX-7950 Black was installed. I booted to BIOS without issue, but when I inserted the Windows 7 (64 bit) it would boot through the windows logo screen but immediately BSOD right after going to the first install screen.
I removed the graphics card, and was able to complete the full Windows install without issue. I updated Windows and the drivers on the system but as soon as I installed the Intel 3000 Graphics driver, it would BSOD on every restart. I recovered back prior to the Graphics driver install and installed all other drivers. I updated the BIOS to the latest version.
I have reattempted the XFX 7950 multiple times in different slots, but with the same results. I also attempted my Radeon HD 4550 from my old computer but it gave the same results. It always boots through the Windows logo screen, but BSOD within a few seconds of reaching the password screen.
I broke down and installed Driver Whiz, which did detect multiple outdated drivers that I had not caught, but none of these fix the issues.
I've attached the requested zip. I don't think all BSOD's are showing up, as I've had to use recovery points after installed drivers didn't work. The last .dmp on 19 JUL was a Intel Graphics driver install attempt that I pulled off in safe mode before recovering back to the pre-driver point.
