Low Windows Experience Index Processor Score
Jun 9, 2012I have sony Vaio VPCEC290X before Windows Experience Index was 5.1 but now it reduced to 3.5 i have update to latest bios a i have check power settings cleaned laptop dust also but the score is still 3.5 what might be the problem i have contact sony care also they checked and told nothing problem with your hardware

Sep 13, 2012Recently I wanted to check out WinXP. I installed it and it ran pretty good. But Since I use Dx 10 for some of my gaming I decided Re-install 7. When I returned to 7 I noticed WEI giving me a lower score then what I used to have. I used to have a 4.2 Aero / 5.4 Gaming graphics. Now its showing at best a 3.8 Aero / 5.3 Gaming graphics score. I say at best because first going into Windows after the re-install it showed 3.7 Aero / 5.2 Gaming. And at the 2nd day in use 3.8 Aero / 5.3 Gaming. I did everything normal as always, installed DX update, Java, Flash, Visual C+. So maybe it just needs time to improve itself or maybe I'm missing something I don't know. The Graphics Driver is up to date and is setup as it always was when I had the high score. I know Windows 7 Improves Performance over time with superfetch so I'll continue to monitor it.

Oct 30, 2011Going to try and make this brief, "try" being the operative word here.I have a Gateway PC running Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit,4 gigs of ram but obviously not all useable (yet),Dual core processor,Nvidia 9800GT, graphics Card.Corsair 650 watt PSU,HT Omega Striker 7.1 Souncard.Kaspersky Internet Security 2012,Nvidia 280.65 driver (latest)Basically have done a lot of upgrades on this PC with the exception of the otherboard and CPU.Two days ago I noticed when I log into my PC, it will boot up, however shortly after, programs will begin to stop responding. Sometimes the PC will boot into a black screen, other times I get to the desktop and the taskbar clocks and just does not work, then other times as stated, will boot up, work for about 15 to 30 minutes until explorer stops responding and ultimately, everything else I try to use.Here are some behaviors I noticed:Is probably not hardware related as safe mode does work as should no matter how long I use it Could not install programs - when trying, would freeze or fail (in reg desktop) One weird thing I noticed is that the hard drive activity LED will start doing a repetitive pattern when the system begins to freeze... it will light up for 3 to 4 seconds to show activity, then blink on and off, then light again for the same time, then blink.. same exact pattern over and over again.. all the while you can hear the drive making the same noise, almost as thought its "skipping" (again, safe mode does work fine though)Originally, this started with a blue screen that showed a Logitech webcam file that caused it. I uninstalled the, software altogether and reinstalled and seemed to have fixed the BSOD issue That's it for behaviors that I have noticed so far Here is what I have tried with no success:Start up repair SCNDSK /F SCNDSK /R SFC /SCANNOW MSCONFIG - disabled all non microsoft startup items AND services I am above the average user as I do some repairs myself but this has me baffled!! I'm at a loss and really do not want to format.

I had to re install windows the other day and after I did they install I updated my BIOs and everything else like normal. Dec 13, 2012had a look and cant find similar issue anywhere. Basically i have a dell inspiron 1520 with x3100 i had to reformat windows 7.Everything is fine except i can noticably tell my games are slower than before. I ran the WEI and gaming graphics is reported at 3.1The gaming score of WEI before i reformatted was 3.5. I have the latest windows 7 x3100 drivers from intel.com since the dell site supports vista x32 only. i have latest chipset drivers.

Mar 29, 2012I have just bought a Acer Aspire 5735 running Vista 32 bit. It has 4gb ram and a Intel 2 duo T6400 processor. I have installed win 7 upgrade and found the performance score dropped from 3.7 to 3.4. The upgrade was installed on Vista as from the factory without any extra software. I have tried to upgrade to Win 7 32 bit but it wont accept that although the computer should be suitable.

Sep 6, 2012I have a new laptop running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. I installed Ultimate and now there is no way to make an Internet connection. The button that had the symbol where you click and connect to a network with Wi-Fi has disappeared. I tried turning the router on and off as well as plugging the laptop into the router with a cable but neither have worked.
So I decide I should either reinstall Home Premium. I put in the CDs that had the drivers, but when I tried to reinstall I got the message "Fail to format disk 0 partition 3" .
Also I was wondering if I should try to install Windows 7 Ultimate again. My main purpose was to run Virtual PC for Windows XP so I could run 16-bit programs, but I would also like to know if I can simply install XP on a computer running Window 7.

Jul 3, 2012My SSD was running on a wei score of 7.8, i have done nothing recently to cause this to change but i checked up on my wei score recently and suddenly its back to 5.9 .I discovered the problem is that in the detailed analysis, and its reading my HDD as the primary hard disk.I refreshed the wei and it still comes out as 5.9, i have no idea why this has happenedthere is no reason for it to have happened as i have changed nothing as of recent. So basically my question is how do i make wei read my ssd instead of my hdd as the primary hard disk like it was before?

Nov 7, 2009I am having the strangest readings from WEI.
Currently I am running Corsair 4 x 1GB PC6400 DDR2 RAM (5-5-5-18). At stock speeds, WEI is reporting a score of 5.5.
My roommate also has 4 x 1GB of DDR2 with SAME timings and he is getting a WEI score of 7.1. A HUGE difference.
I have tried overclocking my RAM to 4-4-4-12 at 900MHz and 2.1V. WEI STILL reports a 5.5 rating.
I have also recently bought 2 x 2GB DDR2 G-Skill RAM with 5-5-5-15 timings. WEI STILL gives a 5.5 rating.
I have also tried running 2 x 1GB of my Corsair RAM... HALF of what I usually run. WEI STILL gives a 5.5 rating.
Also, on the Sticky thread in this forum about memory assessment, mine hovers around 5863 MB/s... I've seen people post in there with slower timings then what I have mine overclocked at and get faster speeds...
Edit: I just put my RAM back to default timings... I am still getting the same MB/s rate. WHY?!
Edit: Roommate just ran winsat mem in the command console and got a 7000 MB/s rating whereas I am getting 5863... he has the SAME RAM just different companies.
What the crap is going on? Massively overclocking my RAM doesn't even change the rating slightly. Any help into this would be awesome.

I was just wondering if there was a way of resetting the machine back to the Out Of The Box Experience for the new owner. Im wanting to do all the updates and software installation now and then "reset" it so the new owner can open it from fresh etc. Ive had a good Google but couldn't find anything.
