So I just upgraded from a GTX 560 TI to a GTX 670 and now my computer can't detect my second monitor. My main monitor is plugged in via DVI while my second computer is plugged in via HDMI. I've been on nvidia control panel and tried finding my second monitor there on the "multiple monitors" section, no second monitor there either.

I have tried searching for it in all my files and I've chhecked 'Devices and printers but have had no luck. Although my webcam still works for skype and I've have looked for it's files whilst it has been on but I can't find anything
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a wireless logitech headphone. The speakers work ok for the most part, but, the mic does not always work unless I manually configure it for the headphone. And after I get done talking it very often reverts back to the builtin mic. a blog but they saw it on dv9000 (I think). There was a solution given for that driver but not for my dv2700.
View 1 Replies View Relatedthe volume icon has a 'x' over it and it says no audio output device is installed. device manager doesn't list any sound cards or controllers and scanning for hardware changes doesn't fix anything. I've been searching for audio drivers until recently I found out that the drivers are useless if your pc doesn't detect your sound card. I believe the audio was working after the upgrade to Win7 but after keeping the laptop muted for a long period of time (i don't use my laptop for music or video) the audio just stopped working.

View 9 Replies View RelatedJust after I upgraded my BIOS, I enjoyed a constant black screen after the BIOS Screen, which said something like CTRL + ALT + DELETE to reboot. It was no longer detecting something. So I removed the second HD and I was able to boot windows.
During the next boot I did the trick to connect the hard drive to the mobo during the Windows loading screen. And the HD became recognized, I was able to use it normally. In the next boot I left the hard rive connected and it wasn't detected by BIOS or Windows. I tried several cable combinations to see if there's a faulty one but no avail.
The weird part is that this drive does not emit any particular sound and most of faulty drives make noises. Another strange thing is that with the power supply connected the hard drive gets hot, really hot, like it's doing something...
Maybe I should downgrade the BIOS if I can. What do you think?
MOBO: Asrock 4g1m VS3.
PSU: 600W generic.

I'm running into this and issue and I can't peg down a cause. I recently updated my Vista HTPC to Windows 7. When booting up I can get into the OS, but the screen goes black shortly after.
I have tried two monitors: the Panasonic plasma just goes black and when I try Samsung Syncmaster LCD it looks like it's searching for digital, then analog sources.
I have an Nvidia 8400 GS card and I've tried both the 191.07 and 195.62 drivers. I've also let Windows install the drivers after uninstalling the Display Adapter in Device Manager in Safe Mode.
When I start in Safe Mode I cannot recreate the issue. I tried uninstalling/reinstalling the drivers in Safe Mode.
I was using two monitors with two ATI Radeon 4800 cards and that worked fine. I just purchased another monitor (Samsung) and now I cannot get it detected. The device manager is only showing 2 generic PnP monitors. I'm not sure why they would not be the specific monitors brands either (one Samsung and one Acer).
Any way of getting the third monitor detected? I've heard about deleting the graphics card drivers and then the monitor might be detected. But I do not know the procedure for doing that.
I'm running a ASUS P8H67-V REV 3.0 mothboard which has a VGA and a DVI-D output. When I connect a second monitor w/ a vga to dvi-d adapter, it does not detect the monitor at all. I've tested the DVI-D port with a dvi to hdmi cable to my TV, at it works as soon as I hook that up. Below is the onboard graphics info.
View 5 Replies View RelatedSo I got a new monitor for xmas, the LG Flatron W1953T and I wanted to get it running with my Dell monitor. I have an onboard NVIDIA GeForce 8300 and at first just tried to plug the new monitor into the DVI port but I think it's broken or something.
Anyways, I bought this Triton Technologies External VGA video card that I just plug into a USB port, and now I have both monitors running through VGA, and my second monitor is up, but the resolution just looks terrible on the second one, and when I go to adjust resolution or whatever it says I have only one monitor and if I hit detect it doesn't come up.
In my devices menu it says I have the dell menu, and then two other "Generic non PnP monitors" even though I only have one other monitor connected.
I also go to my NVIDIA control panel and it doesnt say the second monitor is detected.
Both monitors are working, like I see my desktop background on the other monitor and I can drag stuff over to it but its just not detected or something idk. I want to download Ultramon too, (Or should I get something else w/ windows 7? I heard you cant have two taskbars w seven.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have just recently built a new computer and am trying to use my older vga monitor with it. The monitor displayed fine while installing the os but after it finished the monitor goes right into sleep mode. I updated all my drivers for the onboard video and my video card and have switched between the two in my bios trying to make it work. So far the monitor displays up to the loading windows screen then goes straight into sleep mode. The most annoying thing is that the monitor works fine as a secondary monitor, just not a primary.

Annoying intemittent fault whereby the monitor is incorrectly detected as a generic model instead of an LG L192WS and the screen resolution changes to a lower setting which loses a large percentage of the desktop. I've updated to the latest AMD drivers as that seemed to work for others with a similar problem but to no avail. it takes 5 mouse clicks to open desktop and reset the display to the correct one, but after spending quite a bit to speed up my system I begrudge the time!
I have an Acer Aspire 5741-5979 using a graphics card of Intel (R) graphics. This is a new issue I have had recently. I used to connect an external monitor to my laptop, and it worked fine. The issue is that the laptop still detects the external monitor but the external monitor does not receive a signal when I plug it in the VGA (blue trapezoid connector) have played around with the display options an exhausting amount of times and nothing works there. I tried what worked before (extending the display) and trying to clone it. I thought it might be a driver issue and I reinstalled the driver, but this didn't seem to help either. I have used many monitors when it worked, and also tried different monitors after it stopped working to no avail
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an eeepc 1000he with a viewsonic 22inch screen VX2255wmb. I have been using both for a while now with the dual screen setup without any problem. Since a couple days now, my external monitor won't show the optimal resolution which is 1600*1050. In the screen resolution set up page in windows 7,
it used to highlight the optimal ones that respected the aspect ratio of the screen but now it just shows all of them and when I set it up at 1600*1050, I get an error message on the external monitor saying that the configuration I chose is out of range. Now the highest resolution I can use is 1400*1050.
I dual boot with windows xp and I don't have this problem with it. I didnt use any driver for both Os, just plugged the monitor in and it worked.
Anyone has an idea?
I have a Sceptre X20WG Naga 20.1" monitor on a DVI connection with my EVGA GTX460 card. I was using it yesterday while studying for finals and decided to hook up my 37" Westinghouse TV via VGA connection, using a VGA-to-DVI converter to plug into the graphics card, as the card only has dual-DVI and mini-HDMI outputs. It was working grand as a second screen, no issue at all. Now, today, I turned on my computer and my Sceptre Monitor wasn't outputting any images at all, it just said no signal detected and then went to sleep, though my computer was still on.
So I turned on the TV out of curiosity and found that the TV was now the main screen, still with the VGA connection, and I hadn't unplugged anything since yesterday. So I logged in and right-clicked on the desktop, went to screen resolution, and here it says that the TV is the only screen detected, even after hitting detect. So I unplugged the VGA from to TV and plugged it into the Sceptre Monitor. Turned on the computer and the monitor worked like a charm on the VGA cable. I also plugged the DVI cable that I was using for the monitor into the TV and that worked like a champ too.
The only reason this is bugging me is because I won't always be using the TV as a main display because it's kinda of a pain to sit close to a screen that big. So I am currently on this forum while my monitor is using the VGA connection. It also seems to vary from which DVI port I use on the videocard because if I plug the VGA cable with converter into the 2nd port, there is no video output, but if it's in the first port, works great. I'm going to try just the DVI cable to the TV on each card port to see what the deal is there.
So basically:
The cable isn't the problem.
The VGA needs to be in the 1st DVI port on the card to work.
The DVI doesn't work at all when hooked up to the monitor.
What I want is to be able to use DVI on the monitor and VGA on the TV.

When I plug in or unplug my external display to my laptop, my display options no longer automatically reconfigure as they used to do. Now if I unplug the monitor, Windows acts as if it's still there, and windows that were on the monitor stay offscreen (as does the cursor, if that's where it was). I can manually move the cursor back, right-click load graphics properties and make changes OR do an F-key combo to move everything back on the laptop screen OR program a hotkey but these are all pretty annoying for one reason or another. Unfortunately this must have started happening sometime in the last two weeks--at the same time as I made a load of major computer changes.
However this did NOT include a graphics driver change (my graphics driver is current). At this point I feel it could be anything, but I'm wondering if it could be a recent BIOS update I did that HP recommended. By way of troubleshooting I did run Windows in safe mode with ONLY the "ATI Catalyst" and "AMD External Events utility" running on top of the basic services, in case a newly installed service was stealing hotplugging messages, but that didn't do anything. I've also gone exhaustively through my graphics driver settings to make sure everything there looks correct.
I have a dual-boot Windows 7/Vista Home Premium PC at home. NEVER use Vista anymore.
Can I buy an Upgrade Windows 7 and do an in-place upgrade of my Windows 7 system, or do I have do buy a new copy (full) and do a clean install over a freshly reformatted partition?
Is it possible to upgrade my 32 bit Win vista to 64 bit Win 7 without re-formatting?

View 1 Replies View Relatedi upgraded the RAM to 8GB but have experienced freezes non stop, i even tried running the system without the extra 2GB but it still froze, however i didnt experience any freezing on the first day i used it in the studio. And i cant perform a re-installation because it doesnt run long enough before freezing.
the only software i have installed is Cubase 5-64 bit and a MOTU driver for my 24 I/O Audio Interface.

I have a three monitor set up. Whenever I open up a browser, either internet explorer or google chrome on monitors 2 and 3, after a few seconds it automatically drags my browser into my main monitor(monitor 1, where my start button and status bar is located)

View 9 Replies View RelatedI recently about two weeks ago upgrade from an i3 530 and msi p55a-g55 to an i5 2500k and msi p67a-gd65 and if it's relevant, I changed my graphics card from a 5750 to 560 ti. I had the OEM version of Windows 7 home premium and had heard I'd end up having to buy a new copy and also heard that with all the drivers for 7 that everything should work fine. Well, the day I swapped in the new parts, everything was just fine and I was asked to activate windows, I did, and everything was still okay. After a couple of days though some of my programs like superantispyware (just downloaded), starcraft II, and gamespy comrade won't open. Trend Micro says there's no virus yet I can't for the life of me get these programs to open and most of the time the computer just seems to be slow. I've tried to restore multiple times and te is going to fix my problem. Also, if I do have to reinstall Windows, do I have to back up my entire HDD or can I back up just my school files and my games since those are the only two things that I use my computer for?
