After I updated my Windows 7, I clicked the Crysis 2 icon and the message popped up: ""crysis 2 (TM) has stopped working." I believe it's something has to do with the update preventing me to play C2.
I'm using a Windows 7 64-bit Laptop that originally had 2GB and I updated it a few months ago to 4 GB so that I could play Runescape. strange thing is that it's still extremely laggy and I don't have a virus and I have even did a factory image restore but nothing seems to work.
My question is, could there be any settings that I am suppose to update along with installing the 4GB?
Got a random BSOD playing Crysis last night, this error only occurs in Crysis, no other games. Had every setting on Very High which was putting a high load on the PC.

My little brother purchased Windows 7 and did an upgrade install without doing a fresh install. He lost all of his old game installs and now isn't able to play any of them. We found the folders in windows.old, but none of the games are working. We are trying to get Crysis to work and looked in the registry for the serial key and we couldn't find it. Why couldn't windows have found a better way of doing the upgrade install?
Before the problem, here are the specs: I have 6870 CFX6GB 1666 MHZand I7 965 ExtremeI have Crysis 2 (original, not skidrow not reloaded and etc) and it worked great 2 months ago. Now I want to play it again and this is what I get, but 25 times worse:[URL]
I just bought a new Clevo P150HM about 2 weeks ago. Since then, I've played Shogun 2: TW (with DirectX 11 enabled), NFS: Hot Pursuit, Rage, Crysis, CoD: MW2 and Mass Effect all without problems. In the first couple of days, I also ran 3DMark06 and was able to go through the whole test without any problems.Recently, I tried running 3DMark11 and for some reason, it wouldn't start. I'd see the little blue circle next to the mouse spinning a little bit and then it'd disappear and nothing would happen. A quick look in the Task Manager shows me that it's not running at all. I then tried PCMark Vantage and the same thing happened. Then I went back and tried 3DMark06 and the same thing is happening with that too now. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing the programs as well as uninstalling my GFX card drivers as well as doing a Driver Sweep and then re-installing the drivers but still the same thing. My games still worked fine though. But now I've just installed Crysis 2 and it appears to be having the same problem. All my other games are working fine though. What could be causing this? I have DirectX11 installed as well as the latest Catalyst drivers installed. [code]
Toshiba Satelite i7 3D Q series.Crysis & Crysis Warhead tend to overclock my hard drive to the point of freezing both screen & HD. It works on HP Presario 700 fair. Tried everything but, it seems that it wants to use the HD to process and not the pagefile, and that, I can't even find in the files. Everything else runs normal. Checked using Performance program. I know Directx10 is a pain but, my diagnosis using DXDiag says that it uses DX11 & I have a large pagefile?Hid the fxc files for the program so as it could not use them but, again, it still suffers the same fate?
Game was working fine 2 days ago when I last played. Now it starts up as normal but when I load the level where I left off it freezes at 82%. Error message says AppCrash etc...
I tried starting at previous levels but they don't work either. I haven't running any scans or anything so I can't think why it went from working fine to not working?
First off lemme give you a few specs of my computer in case you can determine right off what the problem is
Gateway - model GT5656
AMD Athlon 64 X 2 Dual Core Processor 6000+ 3GHz
3GB RAM
GeForece 8600 GT graphics
Wide screen HD monitor currently at 1440 x 900 resolution
Okay now the problem is when i play Crysis even on MEDIUM i get laggy/choppy gameplay and i checked the fps (this was a long time ago) i don't remember what they were but just that they were skipping around. I don't know that much about gaming but i figured more ram might help, plus i wanted more ram regardless because my downloads are only like 400kb/s.
I already ordered enough ram so that my total will be 6GB. Yes i know that i will have to take the other stick out bla bla bla i already calculated that. I'm not 100% sure how good quality it is but this is what i bought: 2GB PC4200 533MHz DDR2 SINGLE STICK 2GB PC-2 4200 RAM - eBay (item 130315129371 end time Jul-26-09 01:02:12 PDT)
Anyways getting to the point, tomorrow i will have enough to buy another one of those to have a total of 7GB ram is it worth it? will a 1GB increase even help that much? (and yes I'm running 64 bit)
When i start playing my crysis 2 after 2 minutes my pc hangs and starts showing colors. Other games like fifa 11, mafia 2, brink, crysis warhead, crysis, gta4 work perfectly fine.
Windows 7 installs million updates after format. How can I put these updates inside on my Windows 7 ISO file? Some people told that you can download manually the updates and copy them to Updates folder which is inside on ISO file. But I can not understand which updates exactly should I copy inside ISO. For example: If I put SP1 inside on ISO, should I also add the other updates which are published before SP1? I mean SP1 includes all updates before itself? I realised that after formatting-clean installation of Windows 7, first some updates are installing, after that SP1 is installing and after SP1 ome other updates are installing? So how can I find these update list or something...
I updated my mom's computer & it was doing ok until she shut down the computer while it was updating. Now it have all types of errors. How can I fix this?
I am trying to update my Dell Optiplex 760 to windows7, its gone easy so far, but now its stuck on the "Set up is preparing your computer for first use" Itll load up the windows logo, then i see an arror and then this pops up and it wont move past it
Here I am, bebopping around the internet (looking for a sleep remedy) and suddenly, a dialog box popped up, saying that windows was updating itself. It looked like a normal Windows screen, "updated" itself, shut itself down, and rebooted to the welcome screen. I did nothing to warrant this, I didn't click on anything unusual. There was no option asking me if I agreed, or wanted it to be done. I use the Norton Web Safe deal, so I do not visit any sites that have the little red warning flag. I've been ignoring some "critical" updates (ones Microsoft thinks, like an updated version of IE) for a while, but I've never had my machine just up and do this on it's own. I'm obviously concerned about a virus, malware or whatever, but do run a current version of Norton Internet Security, which is updated regularly. A full system scan was done yesterdaty, and a quick one this morning the seach found nothing but the normal cookies. Would Windows decide suddenly that it really really needed to update itself like this? Note, I was in a user mode, since I try not to log into the admin, to help avoid unwanted software installing itself.
windows 7 home version 6.1 (build 7601: service pack 1)
so installed a fresh version of windows to update from xp to windows 7 and all of a suppen my computer wouldnt recognize my flash drive, so i eventualy after trying other stiff that didnt work looked in device manager and saw that i was missing "USB 2.0 Flash Disk USB Device" and "Mass Storage Controller" and idk how to replace them, when i click update driver device manager stops responding. (a breif google search yeilded nothing) i realy need my music which is all on my flash drive aswell as the fact that i need my mouse which is also atached via usb
I have a optical (for sound) and a HDMI (video card only can output video) going out on my comp to my home receiver. Everthing was working fine on XP but when I upgraded to Windows 7 64bit I lost the sound. I have updated the motherboard drivers and still nothing. The only thing i can see that may be a problem is when i go under Control panel> hardware sound> change system sound> properties it show that the S/PDIF jack info shows rear panel RCA Jack. I have my Optical cable plugged in. I have no idea if this is the problem but i cannot change the jack information.
The short of it is that I reinstalled windows 7 HP, it booted up fine when no drivers were installed, I install drivers and it goes to starting windows, gets past it and just hangs on a black screen, no mouse, nothing.Tried using driver sweeper, removing everything and updating my drivers multiple different ways. This is a very new build, about 2 weeks old? Was completely fine until I installed a new CPU fan, but I don't see how that has much to do with it?ATi HD 7850 2GB is the card.
I have a pc running windows 7 pro 64 bit, I received a update from windows and when the computer rebooted my monitor and key board will not work. I don't know what to do now, I can't even get it to boot in safe mode.
I recently updated from Vista to Windows 7. I installed all some of my old games (Victoria 2 and Mass Effect, to be specific) and neither works. I checked my graphics settings and according to the Device Manager I only have the "Standard VGA Graphics Adapter".
I know this is wrong, I've played dozens of games on Vista and never had this problems. I've been looking around some old forums, and apparently this is quite a common problem, BUT I bought my computer 2 and 1/2 years ago and I have no recorded nor can remember what exact model my graphics card is.
I seem to be in a catch 22. I need to install a driver for my PC to recognize my graphics card, but I need to be able to know what my graphics card is in order to do that, but since my computer can't detect it in the first place, I have no idea which it is. It is all quite frustrating and I just want to be able to play my games!
Yesterday I installed some updates on my computer and when I restarted it, it was different. Its resolution was older, like from Window 2001. I cant uninstall anything or use any of the programs that I used to use with Windows 7. I can only use my computer.
I have created a windows 7 usbdrive for future installations. Now I also want to put updated drivers on the usbdrive. So that they are installed during windows installation.
My computer was just updated from XP to WIn 7 and now my printer will not print envelopes. It used to automatically but now it says to change settings and when I do, it does not recognize it.
I updated the bios to the latest version on a gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3, using @bios application in windows. I have two disks in a RAID1 All was working fine but upon boot i was getting a message about enabling ACHI. Stupidly curiousity got the better of me and I eventually I said Yes. The next time i turned off i couldn't boot to windows. I went into the bios and noticed that the SATA was set to ACHI, but the bios still saw my RAID volume set up and everything appeared Normal, so i changed this setting to RAID.
it still wouldn't boot to windows - giving some message about not having access to the drive. i tried using the windows install disk but that gives error messages about RECENV utility not working, use chkdsk. it does show a drive as a volume D: (not C: interestingly) I have tried running repair and that doesn't work. I have tried chkdsk/r and that didn't help. In fact that degraded the Raid so i had to rebuild it, and now that is running Normal.
I also can't see any of my restores when i use the install disk.
I don't want to do a reformat and start again as there is data on there that is newer than my last backup.
So the options i am considering
1. remove the disks - place one of them in an external usb case and try to extract the data to save it - not sure if this is possible? and then do a clean install or try the below.
2. can i go back to the previous bios version? is that just a case of power off everything and remove the CMOS battery? and power back on?
3. go through with a new install of win 7 but don't format the drive and see if it just corrects any bad files.
Windows 7 wont install, I've tested the RAM I've tried it on my hard drive and SSD. I have installed windows XP and it works fine I am using the PC now.... Windows will install then it restarts and goes to the starting windows screen, turns black then restarts asks how I want to start windows. I tried safe mode I have updated BIOS I feel like I have tried everything and I can't get it to work. I have spent 15+ hours trying to figure this out and I am going insane because I cant get Windows 7 to work on my new PC.
like the title says I have a problem with Crysis 2. I installed the high textures and the dx11 pack. As I started the game my screen went black and I saw a blue box on my screen saying: "Frequencies are not supported". I only can window the game and then I can see the game normaly. I can't play the game in full screen when I enabled dx 11.
