View 1 Replies View RelatedThe short of it is that I reinstalled windows 7 HP, it booted up fine when no drivers were installed, I install drivers and it goes to starting windows, gets past it and just hangs on a black screen, no mouse, nothing.Tried using driver sweeper, removing everything and updating my drivers multiple different ways. This is a very new build, about 2 weeks old? Was completely fine until I installed a new CPU fan, but I don't see how that has much to do with it?ATi HD 7850 2GB is the card.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have ran into a new problem with my media player, I tried to play a movie from a tv series and the video plays great but absolutely no sound. I tried music and it won't play either. I did some little research and I keep coming across things about codecs, I don't know what codec I need for windows media 12. I also have divx player and it wont let out a sound either. I'm clueless from this point and also I have updated my drivers for just incase but no luck.

Clean install of Windows reveals an error not detecting any drives, does not allow partitioning or formatting. BIOS identifies the drives.I've attempted installs of updated drivers from the motherboard's website (as well as the CD that came with the motherboard). WD claims not to have any drivers on their website. Still nothing.
i give you ATi updated drivers.

A few days ago, after a restart of my PC, I didn't get any sound at all, and still don't get it. All my drivers are updated, realtek, motherboard drivers, graphic driver... I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling realtek driver and software. Windows media player is playing a song. In the "sound" menu (top left), the speakers (defined for realtek hd audio) are also working, the green bars go up and down.
In the device manager (down left) I have realtek driver, updated. and all nvidia drivers (as it always been, and also i checked another pc and has it too). Realtek manager works fine, recognize when I plug into the front or the rear jack (using the green one at the rear), everything seems ok. but (!) the "volume" menu (down right) doesn't have a green bar that goes up and down, and - I don't hear any sound at all...
tried connecting speakers to iphone - the speakers are fine, works well.
Printer will not print from ie8, but will print from Oprea or firefox, have updated latest drivers but still will not print.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have just installed Windows 7 pro on my older computer (PCi slots only). I have an HP IIIp laserjet that I have used reliably for many years - love the quality of print. It has a parallel port connection to Mobo.I have installed the updated drivers and computer recognizes it but when I direct a job to it , it just briefly turns on the receipt light then does nothing. I then have to go to the printer and cancel the print job.Does this mean I have to abandon this jewel? (No support available form HP)[CODE]

View 2 Replies View RelatedI purchased a retail copy of Windows 7 Upgrade and installed it about a year ago. It detected my Vista installation but I reformatted and did a clean install. It activated no problem.I now want to wipe my Hard drive and start fresh...but I have an important question. Will my upgrade license key allow me to reinstall Windows 7 without putting Vista back on the computer first? I want to do a clean install. I understand that Upgrade keys need to "see" a previous Windows version in the setup program before you re-format the drive. But, this is the second install of Win7; wouldn't the setup detect that I have an installed copy of Windows 7 before I format?
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy computer is running Windows 7 professional. It is a fresh install. I have a blu ray drive installed (LG BH12ls38) that works fine. However, when I put my computer to sleep and wake it back up, the drive is gone. When I go to device manager and try to scan for hardware changes it still doesn't recognize it. The only way to solve the problem is to shut down the computer. Restarting the computer doesn't work. If I restart, the computer stays on the motherboards screen for a longer period of time then it normally does (about 30 seconds). Also, it seems that this drive is affecting the computer when I shut it down. After having this problem of not being able to find the drive it seems my computer takes longer to shut down.
I have installed all necessary updates for Windows and the driver is provided by Microsoft driver version - 6.1.7601.17514 and date is 6/21/2006. I called LG and they have not been able to find a solution. It seems they do not provide/have a driver and rely on microsoft's drivers. I also updated my BIOS to the newest version. I went to my local store and tried another LG drive which was older and not blu ray and it worked fine so it's not a motherboard or power issue. My computer is running in IDE mode. The reason I state that is because I saw some posts about people switching from IDE to AHCI mode. However, I talked to the technician at my local microcenter and he said this wouldn't be the issue. Sounds to me like firmware issue?
I have an artisan 830 printer installed wireless and in device manager it lists the same printer but says copy next to it and is shaded meaning its not currently attached
I delete the printer and it goes away, but if i click refresh it comes straight back, i tried deleting both the copy and the artisan and then reinstalled the artisan but no matter how many times i delete the copy it returns after refreshing the page
I recently reinstalled windows but it won't activate and microsoft support charges like 100 dollars for help? What do I do ?
View 13 Replies View RelatedWindows 7 installs million updates after format. How can I put these updates inside on my Windows 7 ISO file? Some people told that you can download manually the updates and copy them to Updates folder which is inside on ISO file. But I can not understand which updates exactly should I copy inside ISO. For example: If I put SP1 inside on ISO, should I also add the other updates which are published before SP1? I mean SP1 includes all updates before itself? I realised that after formatting-clean installation of Windows 7, first some updates are installing, after that SP1 is installing and after SP1 ome other updates are installing? So how can I find these update list or something...

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am running windows 7 with a AMD X2 5600+ 4 GB DDR 800 and a 9800GT EE I am running windows 7 right now with 1300mb in use and 2700 free, around that. Anyway I was wondering if there is a way to speed things up by using more memory, would disabling virtual memory help? These might be stupid questions but they are worth asking for me but not someone smarter. Anyway I would like to be able to have the operating system use more ram and be able to run games better. I am running 64 bit.
If anyone has any negative comments about my system please hold off because I am excited with how cheap I put this system together, I know it's not up to date but I can put it to some good use.
Here I am, bebopping around the internet (looking for a sleep remedy) and suddenly, a dialog box popped up, saying that windows was updating itself. It looked like a normal Windows screen, "updated" itself, shut itself down, and rebooted to the welcome screen. I did nothing to warrant this, I didn't click on anything unusual. There was no option asking me if I agreed, or wanted it to be done. I use the Norton Web Safe deal, so I do not visit any sites that have the little red warning flag. I've been ignoring some "critical" updates (ones Microsoft thinks, like an updated version of IE) for a while, but I've never had my machine just up and do this on it's own. I'm obviously concerned about a virus, malware or whatever, but do run a current version of Norton Internet Security, which is updated regularly. A full system scan was done yesterdaty, and a quick one this morning the seach found nothing but the normal cookies. Would Windows decide suddenly that it really really needed to update itself like this? Note, I was in a user mode, since I try not to log into the admin, to help avoid unwanted software installing itself.

I have a optical (for sound) and a HDMI (video card only can output video) going out on my comp to my home receiver. Everthing was working fine on XP but when I upgraded to Windows 7 64bit I lost the sound. I have updated the motherboard drivers and still nothing. The only thing i can see that may be a problem is when i go under Control panel> hardware sound> change system sound> properties it show that the S/PDIF jack info shows rear panel RCA Jack. I have my Optical cable plugged in. I have no idea if this is the problem but i cannot change the jack information.
