I installed windows 7 on my IBM ThinkCentre computer a few days ago. I have not been able to get any sound playing from my computer. Anytime i try to play a music, it says i should update my drivers.

Then a couple of months ago I bought a new monitor. With this monitor (It says its default resolution is 1650*1050) I can only have 1024*768. I really want a better resolution as that one is so annoying. I've downloaded the latest Nvidia drivers for my graphics card and I've gone to the samsung website and downloaded the latest driver for my monitor, the Samsung Syncmaster rz2233.

so installed a fresh version of windows to update from xp to windows 7 and all of a suppen my computer wouldnt recognize my flash drive, so i eventualy after trying other stiff that didnt work looked in device manager and saw that i was missing "USB 2.0 Flash Disk USB Device" and "Mass Storage Controller" and idk how to replace them, when i click update driver device manager stops responding. (a breif google search yeilded nothing) i realy need my music which is all on my flash drive aswell as the fact that i need my mouse which is also atached via usb
View 1 Replies View RelatedThe short of it is that I reinstalled windows 7 HP, it booted up fine when no drivers were installed, I install drivers and it goes to starting windows, gets past it and just hangs on a black screen, no mouse, nothing.Tried using driver sweeper, removing everything and updating my drivers multiple different ways.This is a very new build, about 2 weeks old? Was completely fine until I installed a new CPU fan, but I don't see how that has much to do with it?ATi HD 7850 2GB is the card.

This is what I got when I ran Bluescreenview.
A few days ago, after a restart of my PC, I didn't get any sound at all, and still don't get it. All my drivers are updated, realtek, motherboard drivers, graphic driver... I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling realtek driver and software. Windows media player is playing a song. In the "sound" menu (top left), the speakers (defined for realtek hd audio) are also working, the green bars go up and down.
In the device manager (down left) I have realtek driver, updated. and all nvidia drivers (as it always been, and also i checked another pc and has it too). Realtek manager works fine, recognize when I plug into the front or the rear jack (using the green one at the rear), everything seems ok. but (!) the "volume" menu (down right) doesn't have a green bar that goes up and down, and - I don't hear any sound at all...
tried connecting speakers to iphone - the speakers are fine, works well.
Printer will not print from ie8, but will print from Oprea or firefox, have updated latest drivers but still will not print.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI installed windows 7 x64 and I don't know whether I have the latest drivers. For some it is obvious eg gfx drivers but for the chipsets ( I have intel P35 desktop) it is more difficult.
I installed the "Intel® Chipset Identification Utility" for my chipset but a lot of my intel drivers from I look at the device manager have driver dates from 2006 e.g.
Intel P35 Express Chipset Processor, all the Intel ICH9 drivers...
Would this be considered up-to-date? I'm thinking these are just simple drivers etc and they wouldnt be updated too often.
I also see in Device Manager quite a few generic names like "Standard Dual Channel PCI IDE Controller" is this meant to be the case or should i get more specialised drivers?
I have just finished installing my copy of Windows 7 Ultimate, So I thought I would start updating my Drivers.
I have the EVGA nVidia GeForce 8800 GTX Graphics Card.
I went onto nVidia's website, and downloaded the driver for the 8 Series, but when I try installing the drivers, I get an error pop-up saying that the driver is suited for Windows Vista and Windows 7 only !
It is strange because I am on Windows 7, yet it won't install.

I tried music and it won't play either. I did some little research and I keep coming across things about codecs, I don't know what codec I need for windows media 12. I also have divx player and it wont let out a sound either. I'm clueless from this point and also I have updated my drivers for just incase but no luck.

Clean install of Windows reveals an error not detecting any drives, does not allow partitioning or formatting. BIOS identifies the drives.I've attempted installs of updated drivers from the motherboard's website (as well as the CD that came with the motherboard). WD claims not to have any drivers on their website. Still nothing.
why i have no HDMI audio output standing in my sound option list ... I've updated all my drivers and changed cables, restarted tv & pc etc....I know this is not the first thread about this issue, but i haven't found anything like my problem... by most people its outdated drivers and people who don't know how to choose in the sound list the HDMI port and set it as standard.

View 9 Replies View RelatedLast night, whilst plugging my iphone 4 s into my windows 7 based PC with 64 bit to back up my phone things went horribly wrong.The system told me in itunes that i need to down load the latest upgrade for itunes.I tried this and with my phone plugged in through a USB port to charge it went haywire.At the same time, as i was down loading the latest itunes 10.6 update, up pops the words "A network error occured while attempting to read from the file: C:windows installeritunes 64 msi". So i went back to the download page and clicked on the other download link and this time this message came up;This itunes installer is intended for 32 bit versions of windows. Please download and instal the 64-bit itunes installer instead.I could not find that installer so used other recommended installers, to no avail.I tried re-installing the 64 bit version at least 6+ times from other sites, but the same error message keeps coming up as the 1st one i wrote above.My iphone 4s is stuck on a picture showing a USB cable going to an itunes symbol. It will do nothing. It won't turn on/off and now my computer won't even recognize it when plugged in! It has a parallel port connection to Mobo.I have installed the updated drivers and computer recognizes it but when I direct a job to it , it just briefly turns on the receipt light then does nothing. View 5 Replies View RelatedI have Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. The original installation went just fine, but I never did test to see if transfer speeds were any faster. The instructions specifically mention to install the software first, then the hardware. Recently, I did a clean reinstall of Windows 7 Ultimate (x64). I never did remove the card. I tried running the software with the hardware already installed. Well, the drives are recognized and all, but the transfer rate between the two drives (one is Seagate 3.0 and one is WD 3.0) is only around 50 MB/sec...USB 2.0 speed, right? So, from what I've been able to find over the past couple of hours is that I can't contact WD about the card. They know nothing, and the product can't be found on their website. In device manager, it's listed as NEC Electronics, and it seems there's been some combination of forces between NEC Electronics and Renesas.
1. I have found updated drivers and firmware for NEC/Renesas USB 3.0 cards, but they are broken down into different models or families. For instance, most of them use a number along the lines of uPD720200/uPD720200A Version 2.1.27 WHQL uPD720201/uPD720202 Version 3.0.8.0 WHQL So, how do I find out what my uPD number is, so that I grab the right files?
2. Do I need to uninstall current drivers/software, remove the card from my PC, install the correct drivers, and then install the card back into my machine (See bit about installation instructions near beginning of post.) OR can I just find the updates and install them without removing the card? If so, do I uninstall the old drivers, or just install the new drivers and firmware over the top of the existing files?
Recently i updated my Dell inspiron 1525 to windows 7 64 bit problem is i can't seem to find the latest drivers compatible for this version.

I have tried both PCI slots on my MB (ASRock 970 Extreme 3) and both lights on the card are lighting up in each one. I even went into the UEFI to make sure PCI slots were enabled.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm using the integrated video in an i7 3770 CPU, the Intel HD4000 graphics.The original Intel driver supplied by the motherboard vendor, 8.15.10.2618 gives a Windows Experience Index score of 6.5 for both Graphics and Gaming Graphics.I did a driver scan from Intel and it showed there was a newer video driver available8.15.10.2761. I installed the latest video driver and the WEI score for both Video items dropped to 5.8/5.9I reinstalled the older driver and the WEI score was back to 6.5.

This is why it has not just been brought back to the shop where it was purchasedMy problem is that I cannot play audio through the laptops own speakers. When in a very quiet room you can hear faint crackling from the speakers when they are turned up fully. If you plug in headphones or hdmi, the either will work perfectly no problem with sound. I have the latest Realtek audio driver for my computer installed and I have spent the last week checking and re checking all of the sound settings.The computer says that the device is ''working properly'' when I troubleshoot it.
