View 2 RepliesI bought a new laptop with 3D business and gaming graphics performance index is 5.7, and my old desktop is 4.3. Even that, the laptop cant play my game (CosmicBreak), but the old desktop can. When i lunch game on my new laptop, it mostly freeze all the time. It is not the problem of display driver, i installed the latest version. And it is not the problem of connection either, i checked it out.So, what is the problem? Can anyone give me some advices in this case? Here is my cpu-z valiadation link: CPU-Z Validator 3.1
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am building a new gaming system, considering that the screen is only 1920x1080 resolution, from most benchmarks I have seen, the i7 and GTX670 I put in it shoul be enough to handle any current game at highest settings at a playable framerate. So I put in a temporary junk HDD and installed Windows 7 (64bit professional) just to test it out and try different configurations on it before I install it for real on the actual system drive. After downloading the demos to known hardware-straining games like Crysis and Metro 2033 I was pretty satisfied with the performance.Evetually, I ran windows update and installed all recommended and optional (except for Bing Desktop) updates. After several reboots and re-updates to make sure everything was installed I shut it down. The next day I start it up again and notice that it was taking two to three times as long to boot up..... fair enough, I did just install many updates. But now I noticed that performance had taken a total nosedive as well. For some reason it took several minutes after the desktop had loaded for any program to actually start up. The Crysis demo (even with vsync turned on from the console) had massive tearing where there wasn't any before, and the Metro 2033 demo had slowdowns, especially when turning!
I suspect its MSE thats causing it (I am going to install NOD32 as my real antivirus anyway) but is there any way I can test what could be causing this lag in case it isn't MSE? I can't just not run Windows Update after all, that would be beyond stupid, especially on a fresh install. Pretty much the only thing that changed between the last time I ran those demos and now was installing updates.
I recently bought an Asus RT-N16 wifi router with gigabit lan capability. I bought it for 3 reasons. 1. Gigabit lan capability.2. USB connected storage sharing.3. USB connected 3G/4G internet connectivity when wired lan fails.I have 3 PCs with gigabit Ethernet on board. The fourth one has a 100 mbps Ethernet. Now the question is this. Do all the connected PCs have to have Gigabit Ethernet capabilities to get such speeds or should I get this high speed connectivity between complying PCs?For large file transfers I used to get around 11 to 12 MB transfer rate with a 10/100 ZTE modem /switch / router. This is like saturated 100 mbps connectivity. I am not getting anything close to this with the new router.

View 3 Replies View RelatedAnyways, in laptops (gaming or not), does setting the power plan to High Performance actually improve gaming (frame rates, speed and anything else) in battery mode? I'm using a laptop (not dedicated gaming, but suffices) and my games (the recent ones) slow down whenever I'm in battery mode. A couple of friends told me I should set it High Performance, which I doubted since they don't seem to be the type to change the power plan settings and more so with the advanced plan settings.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWeek ago I bought new SSD drive. (OCZ Agility 3, 2.15 firmware) I made fresh install of OS, newest drivers etc. SSD and my system was working very well but I was disapointed to my SSD-benchmark results. Well I tried to increase performance by updating my motherboard bios. Bios update succeed but it didnt really increase performance of my ssd, new bios reduced writing performance notable. (MOBO = Asus m4a87td/usb, bios v.2001) AHCI is on.
What with that 103424? Shouldnt it be 1024? Previous score over 400 points, now just 300. (disappeared in picture)
Also noticed another problem. I can't boot my comp if I have external drive plugged in. I just can't change my 1st device boot to agility drive in bios because it's not in the list of boot devices. Well I unplug external drive and its working. Also thought that bios update would fix it but it didnt.

After four or five trial and error attempts of system restores to find why my computer was having such an insanely long boot time I finally discovered that it was an optional windows update titled "Intel Corporation- Display - Intel(R) HD Graphics." I avoided the update and my computer worked amazingly. However, my girlfriend recently used my computer and decided to perform some updates...the Intel HD Graphics update being one of them. So of course now my computer is experiencing the same slow boot time and general sluggishness.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI purchased motherboard with the manufacturer number of MB.G0409.005 (MB.G0409.005 GATEWAY MOTHERBOARD DESKTOP BOARD SOCKET AM2) on 2/3/12. I had put it into my system and then proceeded to install upgrades from the Gateway website. I saw there was a BIOS update (file: 924G1P11.ROM) available so I tried to update my BIOS. Well, after updating my BIOS with the .ROM file that I had gotten from their website [URL], but after that, the on board ATI graphics adapter is no longer working. I tried to contact Gateway with no luck and them telling me that they don't recommend updating the BIOS. I also tried to contact the place where I purchased the motherboard from and they said that they didn't have the original .ROM. The motherboard is also not listed on the Foxconn website either. I am running Windows 7 x64 Build 7601 and I have also tried using a Ubuntu 12.04 LTS live USB and that did not work as well. As far as I can tell, the BIOS will not even recognize it. I am now currently using a NVIDIA GeForce GT 220 graphics card that is plugged into the 16x PCI-E slot. I have found modified .ROM files that someone had done for this motherboard, but I don't want to risk it. And every forum and post I've come across has dead links to ones that someone has made a copy of the .ROM file and uploaded from their motherboard.
My system is a Gateway DX4300-15e with 6 gb's of DDR2 RAM (originally 8 gb's of RAM, but a 2 gb stick blew out from a power surge, hence why I had to get a new motherboard) with a AMD Phenom II x4 970 Black Edition Deneb 3.5GHz Socket AM3 processor.
I installed Windows 7 RC 7100 on my gaming rig a couple of months ago. All was well until I got to the Logitech Gaming drivers for my Rumblepad 2 and Force Feedback Racing Wheel. Using Vista x64 drivers my system crashed repeatedly (cant recall exact error message)
The logitech website says that most Vista drivers will not have any issues with Windows 7, however I am a little apprehensive about reformatting if the problem occurs again.
My questions are:
1. Is anybody else having the same probs?
2. Is there a solution to this?(apart from not installing Windows 7)
I really liked the the look and feel of Windows 7 however not being able to use game controllers on my gaming rig sort of defeats the purpose.
I had to reboot my Windows XP (32 bit) After i downloaded NETFRAME 4.0. When i did, my pc hummed to life, but my monitor (A E19T6W) registered that my GTS 250 1024 MB Card was not reading. I check multipul times, looking at the graphics card as it runs. The fan works like it normaly does, but the display is not working. I am now running on my intergrated motherboard (Asus A8N-LA) Which is a Nvidia GeForce 6150 LE, and i do not know what to do. I tried removing the mobo battery for 5 minutes to reset the board, nothing. Ive tried to reinstall my drivers, That does not work. I Removed NETFRAME 4.0. That dose not even seam to help any. I do not hope it is a bad PCI slot, (had the motherboard for 3 years) but are there any suggestions available? [code]
View 9 Replies View RelatedMy HP desktop came with an ATI HD5770, using driver version 8.740.0.0, dated Aug 2010.
Windows update offered an updated driver a couple of months ago, which failed to load.
People here have recommended getting updates from the OEM (HP, in this case) instead of from Windows Update. But HP doesn't offer anything newer than that Aug 2010 version. So I went to ATI and they have the newer driver, version 8.902.0.0 It works.
I have the Intel Q45/Q43 Express Chipset on my Asus P5Q-EM DO motherboard. Video drivers installed with Windows Beta 7057 worked perfectly but when I clean-installed Windows 7100 RC, the drivers were updated to a newer version and now my desktop and background video gets totally corrupted after computer is in use for 20 mins or so. If I minimize and then maximize the window I'm working in it clears it up for a few minutes.
Can anyone tell me how to take the graphics drivers from 7057 and slipstream them into 7100 RC so I can use the RC without pulling my hair out? I tried to "upgrade" the drivers to the old version, but no way to do that. And it has no rollback feature.
I don't know anything about computers, but turn on the computer for windows 7 I have to press f1 because it is looking for an adapter grahpics card. Then when I get to my screen is says "Catalyst Control Center is not supported by the driver version of your enabled grahpics card. Please update your AMD graphics driver or enable your AMD adapter using Display Manager.I only bout the Dell tower and not a new monitor.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just completed a fresh install of Windows 7 Ultimate 32 Bit (x86) after formatting my computer, which was previously running Windows XP Professional SP3. Everything during the install went smoothly, but now I'm trying to install my graphics card drivers and it's not working. Before I go further, here are my system 'specs':OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 32 Bit Mobo: ASUS M2A-VM (Green) Graphics Card: nVidia 9800 GT CPU: AMD Athlon 5400+ The first driver I attempted to install was my motherboard driver. I used the CD that came with the mobo, but the drivers were not compatible with Windows 7 so I had to run the driver under compatibility mode for Windows Vista in order to open the setup, then I installed those drivers. I then restarted and attempted to install my graphics card drivers off the CD that came with my 9800 GT. The first set of drivers that it installed were the PhysX drivers and those installed just fine. It then attempted to install the actually graphics card drivers, but then it said "The NVIDIA Setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hardware. Setup will now exit." I opened up dxdiag and checked under the display tab and it's not showing any hardware under that tab, as if I have no graphics card. I then tried installing the Windows 7 32 Bit drivers that I downloaded from the nVidia site for the 9800 GT but when it does the system compatibility check, and error occurs that says "NVIDIA Installer cannot continue, the graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware." I then checked in the device manager under the 'Sound, video, and game controllers' section and only Realtek High Definition Audio is there. I have also installed the drivers for my motherboard found on the ASUS website after selecting the Windows 7 OS. I downloaded and installed the driver under the 'Chipset' section titled 'AMD Chipset Driver V1.3.0.49 for Windows 7 32bit/64bit--(WHQL).'Basically, my computer is not even detecting that I have a graphics card yet my monitor is plugged into the DVI port on my graphics card, and my graphics card is on. Does anyone know what's going on? Better yet, does anyone know where I could find drivers that will work and make my system functional?EDIT: If anyone requires any further information in order to help me with my problem, just let me know and I will get it asap.EDIT2: I just looked in my device manager and I noticed that under the 'system devices' section there is a device with a exclamation point in a yellow triangle called 'PCI Standard PCI-to-PCI bridge'. There is another one with the same name that doesn't have the symbol. Could this perhaps be part of the problem? The error for this device is 'This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. (Code 12) If you want to use this device, you will need to disable one of the other devices on this system.' I have a feeling this is the problem. I went into my bios and enabled the "Plug and Play OS" but when I did that it made my computer run INSANELY loud. So I turned it off.
