How To Slipstream Graphics Drivers

May 2, 2009

I have the Intel Q45/Q43 Express Chipset on my Asus P5Q-EM DO motherboard. Video drivers installed with Windows Beta 7057 worked perfectly but when I clean-installed Windows 7100 RC, the drivers were updated to a newer version and now my desktop and background video gets totally corrupted after computer is in use for 20 mins or so. If I minimize and then maximize the window I'm working in it clears it up for a few minutes.

Can anyone tell me how to take the graphics drivers from 7057 and slipstream them into 7100 RC so I can use the RC without pulling my hair out? I tried to "upgrade" the drivers to the old version, but no way to do that. And it has no rollback feature.

How To Slipstream Drivers Into Windows 7 Install

Mar 9, 2011

I have found that the drivers for my video card are non-existent when Setup goes to perform the initial boot, causing my monitor to lose signal after the Windows Logo. Anyways, I have found that my best option (possibly the only one) is to slipstream my NVIDIA drivers into the iso install and then reinstall the OS. I am unable to get into safe mode on the Windows 7 install due to Setup not completing the initial boot process. Either way...Does anyone happen to know how to Slipstream drivers into my Windows 7 iso while using XP? I have found numerous ways on how to do it while using Vista, but not much can be found on how to with XP.

I purchased a new SSD and doing a fresh install. I am curious if it would be easier or ideal to create an installation disk/usb with all the added windows updates and drivers for my system(if possible)? Originally I had Windows Vista Ultimate and then upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate. So, I have the original install disk for Vista and an upgrade disk for 7. I will also have 3 other HDD's installed, if it matters.

SB750 RAID Drivers Not In RTM.can't Install.slipstream?

Aug 7, 2009

So like half the world I got RTM from MSDN yesterday, with hopes of installing today. Well for the past 10 hours I have been trying to get this OS installed on a Asus M4A79T Deluxe motherboard with the AMD SB750 RAID drivers and unfortunately I have come upon some woes that I hope you all might be able to shed some light on.In the RC the drivers were not present, as is the case with the current RTM, the process I would have to go thorough is as follows: 1. Click Next at the Language select screen 2. Click Install Now at the Install screen 3. Accept Terms and Next 4. Choose Custom install 5. It is at this point where I run into the lack of a driver with the RC, no drives are listed at theWhere do you want to install Windows?screen. 6. Click Load Driver 7. A message box pops up indicating To install the device driver needed to access your hard drive, insert the installation media containing the driver files, and then click OK.It is at this time that I click Browse 8. The browse for folder menu pops up and I navigate to my USB drive (have used a CD in the past) and select the AMD AHCI Compatible RAID Controllerand click Next At this point everything is good, the driver gets loaded and I continue on my merry way with the install of the RC.

The RTM, however, is much, much different: 1. Click Next at the Language select screen 2. Click Install Now at the Install screen 3. (unlike the RC, no terms yet) It is at this point where I run into the lack of a driver with the RTM, thus a Load Driver popup comes up indicating A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing. If you have a driver floppy disk, CD, DVD, or USB flash device please insert it now. This is similar to what happened in step 7 above. It is at this time that I insert my USB key and click Browse 4. The browse for folder menu pops up and I navigate to my USB drive (have used a CD in the past) and select the AMD AHCI Compatible RAID Controllerand click Next 5. About five minutes of time and I receive the following error: No new devices could be found. Make sure that the driver files are correct and located on the driver installation media.Excuse me...what? The drivers are right there! I have them highlighted! So I click OK on the error popup and choose Browse again to repoint to the driver....but wait...WHAT? WHAT WHAT WHAT? All of my drives on the RAID controller are now showing up in the Browse box, indicating that the driver has been loaded! No matter how many times I try and click Next (not that clicking it a bunch of times is going to change anything) I cannot proceed in the install.

How To Slipstream Sp1 Into An Iso

Mar 23, 2012

I'm going to be doing a clean install, as I'm getting an SSD soon, and I want to know how, if possible, I would put sp1 on my windows 7 iso to preferably install 7, along with sp1, and if possible, all of the updates for my computer.

For the record, if I simply have to download the sp1 exe from microsoft, extract it, and put the files on the iso, I know how to do that just fine.

Get Graphics Drivers From OEM When ATI Offers Them?

Nov 6, 2011

My HP desktop came with an ATI HD5770, using driver version 8.740.0.0, dated Aug 2010.

Windows update offered an updated driver a couple of months ago, which failed to load.

People here have recommended getting updates from the OEM (HP, in this case) instead of from Windows Update. But HP doesn't offer anything newer than that Aug 2010 version. So I went to ATI and they have the newer driver, version 8.902.0.0 It works.

Installing Graphics Card Drivers?

Oct 9, 2011

I just completed a fresh install of Windows 7 Ultimate 32 Bit (x86) after formatting my computer, which was previously running Windows XP Professional SP3. Everything during the install went smoothly, but now I'm trying to install my graphics card drivers and it's not working. Before I go further, here are my system 'specs':OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 32 Bit Mobo: ASUS M2A-VM (Green) Graphics Card: nVidia 9800 GT CPU: AMD Athlon 5400+ The first driver I attempted to install was my motherboard driver. I used the CD that came with the mobo, but the drivers were not compatible with Windows 7 so I had to run the driver under compatibility mode for Windows Vista in order to open the setup, then I installed those drivers. I then restarted and attempted to install my graphics card drivers off the CD that came with my 9800 GT. The first set of drivers that it installed were the PhysX drivers and those installed just fine. It then attempted to install the actually graphics card drivers, but then it said "The NVIDIA Setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hardware. Setup will now exit." I opened up dxdiag and checked under the display tab and it's not showing any hardware under that tab, as if I have no graphics card. I then tried installing the Windows 7 32 Bit drivers that I downloaded from the nVidia site for the 9800 GT but when it does the system compatibility check, and error occurs that says "NVIDIA Installer cannot continue, the graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware." I then checked in the device manager under the 'Sound, video, and game controllers' section and only Realtek High Definition Audio is there. I have also installed the drivers for my motherboard found on the ASUS website after selecting the Windows 7 OS. I downloaded and installed the driver under the 'Chipset' section titled 'AMD Chipset Driver V1.3.0.49 for Windows 7 32bit/64bit--(WHQL).'Basically, my computer is not even detecting that I have a graphics card yet my monitor is plugged into the DVI port on my graphics card, and my graphics card is on. Does anyone know what's going on? Better yet, does anyone know where I could find drivers that will work and make my system functional?EDIT: If anyone requires any further information in order to help me with my problem, just let me know and I will get it asap.EDIT2: I just looked in my device manager and I noticed that under the 'system devices' section there is a device with a exclamation point in a yellow triangle called 'PCI Standard PCI-to-PCI bridge'. There is another one with the same name that doesn't have the symbol. Could this perhaps be part of the problem? The error for this device is 'This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. (Code 12) If you want to use this device, you will need to disable one of the other devices on this system.' I have a feeling this is the problem. I went into my bios and enabled the "Plug and Play OS" but when I did that it made my computer run INSANELY loud. So I turned it off.

Installing Nvidia Graphics Drivers

Nov 28, 2009

I am looking to sort out my graphics drivers for my new computer and just want to make sure I get it right and so avoid any kind of nightmare, I am sure some of you will be able to point me in the right direction....

I have a GTS250 card installed on my PC running windows 7 64 bit. It is currently using the standard windows drivers would have automatically installed when the computer was put together. I would like to change these to the proper Nvidia drivers so I can have the control panel and more control etc.

This is what I think I need to do:
1. Download correct Nvidia drivers and save somewhere
2. Uninstall the GTS250 device in device manager with remove the software option
3. Boot in safe-mode and run a driver cleaner thingy (which one is free and best??)
4. Restart and run the Nvidia install program

Is this correct? Is it necessary to use a driver sweeper? I have read that the generic driver can just be installed over but I am not sure about this. Is it the uninstall option that I need to use? I have also read that windows will automatically re-install the generic driver from a ‘store’, how can I stop this happening?

Intel Pre-production Drivers For Graphics Chipsets

Dec 28, 2008

"Intel has a series of ‘pre-production’ drivers for its graphics chipsets in Windows 7. It’s a clear attempt to avoid the incompatibility problems which plagues Vista.

Though the next edition of Windows isn’t even at beta stage yet, Intel has announced:

Intel is making available for testing its preproduction WDDM1.1 graphics driver, enabling the full Windows 7 experience. The driver is the result of an ongoing collaboration with Microsoft to provide OEMs and developers with drivers that deliver all of the required WDDM1.1 features for Windows 7. As a result of the collaboration, OEMs and beta users can stay in step with Windows 7 prereleases for smooth product development.

To explain the jargon, drivers are the link between hardware and Windows, while WDDM is Windows’ Display Driver Model, the overall system for graphics drivers that was introduced in Vista and continued in Windows 7.

OEMs are Original Equipment Manufacturers: in other words, firms which make computer parts (or entire machines) that are then usually sold on by other manufacturers.

In short, the announcement means Intel is taking serious steps to make sure its chips work properly in Windows 7. If there are any problems, it wants plenty of time to sort them out before the official release.

The announcement is also a sign that Microsoft promises to do a better job of working with hardware firms to ensure driver compatibility are being followed through. Many manufacturers complained that they didn't have enough notice of driver requirements for Vista, which led to incompatibility.

And while a few such problems might have seen the device producers blamed for shoddy work, the Vista issues were so widespread that the operating system itself bore the brunt of most public discontent. So Microsoft has as much, if not more motivation to avoid such problems this month.

Of course, Intel is such a major player that Microsoft has to keep it happy (witness the debacle over Intel chips which weren't ‘Vista capable). The real test is whether Microsoft gives the same level of timely cooperation to smaller manufacturers."

Intel already has Windows 7 drivers - VISTA.BLORGE

http://vista.blorge.com/2008/12/19/intel-already-has-windows-7-drivers/

n an effort to avoid compatibility problems that plagued the launch of Windows Vista, Intel is giving developers a jump on its Windows 7-based product line.

The company has released a pre-production version of Windows 7 drivers for graphics chipsets. The WDDM1.1 graphics driver is designed for "enabling the full Windows 7 experience," Intel said, noting that the driver is the result of ongoing collaboration with Microsoft.
