Jan 14, 2012i've just installed 8GB OCZ Gold DDR2 RAM on my Asus P5Q Pro Turbo board, the timings on the RAM state PC8500 1066Mhz 5-5-6@2.10v. I have checked in the BIOS and the frequency was set to auto and the voltage was also set to auto, I have set these to 1066 and 2.10 respectively but when I checked with CPU-Z it reports frequency 534.9 and voltage 1.80. I made sure I saved the changes before i exited the bios

Jan 15, 2013I have xps m2010, it uses notebook graphic mobility radeon x1800. the card is so old that many of the recent GPU software can't seem to read it properly. GPUz was able to see core/memory clock and memory but unable to see temperature or voltage.
GPU meter/PC meter just fails to see it at all, not supported it seems, same goes for GPU monitor or GPU observer, cant see it.
however temperature shows up in Hwinfo but no voltage either. I was able to download ATItool and able to change it's core/memory clock speed but it doesn't have voltage control.
what I want to do is for it to run at a lower VID/clock when idle, something like CPU speedstep or nVidia powermizer. when idle, lower voltage, temp and clock speed, when used, back to highest etc.

Anyway, has anyone gotten ANY Blu-Ray drive to work in Win 7 64-bit yet? I've got the LG GGC-H20L Blu-ray/HD combo and I was at least able to get the drive to lose the caution/warning symbol in the device manager thanks to the reg edit in another thread. But I still can't get the drive to read any blu-rays. I've using Total Media Theatre which is fantastic in Vista.
Just wondering what some others have encountered on their Win 7 journey. Anything with 32-bit(I might triple boot just to find out)? Anything with a different program? Anybody with a different drive? Heck, anybody with the SAME drive?

Mar 19, 2011I have an ASUS N61Jv, running Windows 7 Professional 64bit (legal, pre-installed). The built in webcam is suddenly not functioning anymore. I can't recall changing anything, so I'm not sure why this is happening. When opening the cam in skype, windows live messenger, or lifeframe3, it keeps saying that the cam is in use by another application. I've reinstalled the driver, but to no avail. I have also reinstalled the software programs.

Oct 22, 2012I wanted to delete a folder in my documents but it was giving me an error which I cannot remember exactly now, but after doing some research, most sites had suggested that I run a Chkdsk. My computer successfully completed the Chkdsk, but now my computer is in some sort of coma where it loads up fine, but after logging in, there is no text whatsoever on the screen. On top of this the start bar does not work and any explorer based functions are extremely large,pixelated and absent text.I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate x32 on a 2009 Toshiba Satellite In the last year of high school and don't have most of my files backed up anywhere?

Nov 27, 2011Bought a new HP computer with Windows7. Has plenty of memory and large hard drive. I copied my old files from an XP machine. Have not installed any new hardware. Every time I use the machine, and especially when on the net, the system stops functioning and I get the BSOD with a warning it is performing a crash dump. The screen stays on for a few seconds and then I am asked to restart windows. I cannot understand all the messages but it does mention problem with new hardware or software.

Aug 22, 2010a message box appeared on my screen and after i clicked yes, i noticed that all my desktop icons turned white and wen i try to click them, they will attempt to open with windows photo viewer which is always not successful because the windows photo view displays a message that says it cant open dis file. Normally, d icons should show d logo of the application and wen clicked, they should open the application but mine is not working dis way anymore.

Apr 12, 2012I created a new standard account on my computer. I installed chrome and messenger onto it, then switched back to my admin account. I opened up chrome, and my history, themes, and all customizations were gone. It gave me some error that I failed to record. I tried to install a theme but it gave me the same error. I decided to uninstall chrome. But when I attempted to re-install it, it wouldn't work. I eventually gave up and tried to install firefox. It gave me an error something along the lines of "Profile is missing or inaccessible" I also attempted to open trillian, an IM program. Usually, it automatically logs in, but this time I had to manually type it in. But it would not log me in, giving me an error "unable to read from or write to the configuration directory for this account" I had a similar problem with yahoo messenger. Afterwards I discovered, my music files and videos I had on my admin account would not play, and gave me an error. The songs were erased off of my media player, and even though the files were still on my computer, none of them would play.Everything on my new account seems to work, but nothing on my admin account will work.

Under mouse and other pointing devices. ELAN PS/2 port smart padDouble clicking both of them gets these properties for each respectively:1. Under keyboard. Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)2. Under ELAN PS/2 port smart pad. This device cannot start. (Code 10)The laptop is an Asus x53sv running win 7 64bitI made a recovery disc (in fact there 5) when I first got it but using that wipes the hard drive C:. I know that for XP there is a repair program which you get to by following the procedure for doing a re-install but you have this option which doesn't wipe the hard drive. I've used it.Does something similar exist for Win 7?

Jul 17, 2010I bootcamped my Macbook Pro 15" (2010) model and installed Windows 7 within a 40GB partition. Shortly after I ran out of space and needed to upgrade my partition. So I created a system repair disc and created a system image. Then I rebootcamped and installed Windows 7 on an 80GB partition. Before I reinstalled and repartitioned my hdd, I booted from my system repair disc to check for functionality. It worked fine and allowed my the option of checking or unchecking the box that reads "Format and repartition discs". Now that I've reinstalled windows 7 AND all the apple drivers using my OS X disc, when I boot from the system repair CD and follow the steps, I cannot uncheck the box asking to format all discs. I can't do this obviously because it would format the entire hdd and delete my OS X partition which has all my stuff backed up on and has all of my data.
