USB Driver Error - USB Ports Do Not Work
I'm not sure if any other specs needed to solve this problem.
I upgraded from vista 32bit to windows seven 32bit a few days ago, ever sense i have upgraded i have never been able to use any usb ports. i have went into the device manager and uninstalled and reinstalled the usb port drivers, they will start to work for about 30 seconds then will fail.
This is the error in the properties under usb port:
Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)
I have installed my motherboards new drivers and bios for windows 7. also have updated windows and installed all major updates. I have been working on fixing this error for days now and i have had no success.

USB Ports Fail To Work With Win7
Throughout the whole installation period and a day after I only had my wireless Logitech keyboard/mouse combo plugged into a USB port. After trying to use (and install, for the first time) my planetronics headset all of the USB's stopped working. What they do exactly is power on the device for a short period of time then seemingly shuts it off and Windows 7 doesn't even recognise it at all throughout this short process. Wierd thing is, that I can confirm my wireless Logitech keyboard works fine in when in the boot setup menus etc. I've tried all my USB devices and it won't recognise anything. All it does do, is come up with two "USB Root Hubs" which have the "error" exclamation mark on unless I uninstall them and scan for hardware changes again. I've tried new chipset drivers, adjusting power saving settings and all other so callled possible solutions and I'm well and truely stuck. Motherboard:Asus M2NPV-VM Motherboard Chipset: GeForce6150 CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ RAM: 4GB (3.22GB Usable) Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit

USB Problems / USB Ports
So I have had W7 installed for a little over a week, and I am having issues with my USB ports. The only thing that has worked so far is my BlackJack phone, which Windows SAYS didn't install correctly, but works. All USB drives, my camera, and other phone do not work. I get a message at the bottom of the screen that says "Installing device..." then I get the report that it was not installed correctly. I have tried three different USB drives, all of which would not install correctly and work. This is very frustrating, and there is no reason something as simple as a USB drive would not work, yet a Cell Phone will connect.Â

Driver For USB Functionality Doesn't Work
I'm running the german version of Windows 7 x64, so here is the original message I get when I click on "USB" in the menu-bar: "Der für die USB-Funktionalität erforderliche Virtualisierungstreiber funktioniert nicht." It's something like this in english: "The driver necessary for the SUB-functionality doesn't work." The problem appeared after I installed VMWare if I remember right (didn't use XP-Mode for a while). It worked well before. All other features, like the integration features, work well. I uninstalled VMWare and reinstalled XP-mode but it didn't help. Any hints? Edit: SecurAble said "Yes" to the given features

USB Ports Not 2.0
My USB ports on this Gigabyte mobo are SUPPOSED to be all USB2.0 So, how come I still get "This device can run faster" messages in my Windows 7 64 bit home premium installation?? I went to Gigabytes webpage and installed the chipset drivers for Windows 7 on there, but still get the same message when I plug in my Corsair 4GB jumpdrive.

Crash Of All USB Ports
First of all I would like to excuse for my rusty english... Passed some time since I last wrote something completely in english ;-) I'm using the x86 version of Build 7000 and I'm very fascinated of how it works already in this beta-stage. But I have a strange crashing-issue from time to time that does not allow me further testing. From time to time all of my USB-ports seem to block everything: my usb-soundcard stops working, my wireless-adapter, my external hd, everything that's plugged-in into an usb-port stops working. It happens when I'm using my Soundcard, Videocard or both of them: playing games, watching DvDs, browsing youtube, listening to music, etc. When I'm trying to reboot, the os will stuck in the logging-off-screen 'cause it's trying to play the logoff-sound over my soundcard..

USB Device Not Recognized, Only At 4/12 Ports
I have Kingston 2GB DataTraveler (DT) and windows 7 RTM 64bit does not recognize it when pluged into 2 front usb ports or 2 top back usb ports. Other 6 lower back ports work. I have Gigabyte GA-EP35-DS3 mobo. This mobo has 8 usb on the back and 2 usb headers. One header is used for Codegen 7in1 cardreader+1usb port, other is used for 2 front panel usb ports. Few things ive noticed: 1) my old apacer mp3 player works on all usb ports. 2) most of new higher capacity usb's are not recognized in those malfuncioning ports 3) if i plug DT into Codegen's USB port, DT is then recognized on all ports I've read this thread, tried instaling new Intel's Infs, tried removing all usb devices exept Codegen's. No effect. Any suggestions for my case?

All USB Ports Have Stopped Working
(I'm not sure if this is right forum, I'm sorry if it's not. I'm new here and the system does NOT make it easy to find out where these things should go. So I figured since I had Windows7 that I would put it here. Sorry if this is wrong.) I bought a NexxTech2 USB 2.0 4-Port Hub a few months ago. Since then everything has been fine. Until no, suddenly the hub has stopped working and Windows7 keeps telling me: Â "USB DEVICE NOT RECOGNIZED One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned., and Windows does not recognize it." And THE ONLY advice Windows7 can give me is to replace the device! Then problems got worse. Suddenly my 320 GB SimpleTech external hard drive stopped working. Then my mouse stopped working, then my keyboard, then my Printer. These devices aren't even connected to the hub! Now none of my USB ports work! I know alot about computers, but not USB ports or drivers. Is there any solution to this other than replacing my devices?! I can't just replace my printer, external drive, mouse, keyboard! Almost all of my files are on my external drive and I needed then several hours ago.

Trouble With Rear USB Ports
I'm having a strange problem with my mouse. This is the first wireless mouse I have ever used. At first I thought is was my mouse that was acting up. Now I am pretty sure it is my USB ports in the rear of the computer. My problem is my mouse pointer stops moving constantly. It resembles a trashy ball mouse the way it stops moving with the exception that my pointer suddenly catches up with where it needs to be. During all this time I was considering the possibilities that it could be my mouse or a glitch in windows 7 build 7229. A few nights ago for the first time my mouse quit responding. I was forced to check it out and try a different port. Non of the rear ports seem to work so I tried a front port. I did not have any trouble with the mouse on the front port. After a few hours I tried a different rear port and after a while the same thing started again. Now for the second time switching back to the front port without any problems. I am curious if anyone else has had this problem. What do you think it could be?I realize this could be fixed in the Retail versions of Windows 7? Maybe a driver update is needed. Does this sound like a problem with the USB chip? Could there be interference with my wireless network adapter? I'm not really sure where to start diagnostics. I don't really want to pull my adapter if I can get out of it. What do you guys think?

Power Lost To USB Ports
Been using a wireless adabter from linksys. For almost 6 months with Vista and have no problem at all. Even with system crashes or when it sleeps. Under win 7 sleeps, or crashes, or force a restart and get the BLUE screen say dumping memory. Have notice that the auto detection of the USB devices fail to detect when you unplug or plug the devices back in. This appears to be a common problem with adapters that are wireless. Have ran trouble shooter when it has happen with mixed results most time there are no problems detected. But after a reboot if there is no Internet I run the trouble shooter on the device it will detect the problem and apply the fix and everythin fine. It can last mins or hours. Or untill the computer goes to sleep. Then most of the time have to restart and repeat trouble shooter. Why the trouble shoot can fix it after a reboot and not after it looses the conection dont know.

USB Ports, Devices Detected
Certain devices ("obsolete" flash drives, iPod) are undetected in Windows 7. There are no problems with my mouse and wireless adapter, which are USB. I have tried connecting previously undetected devices through the same ports that detect the mouse and wireless adapter, which has made me further suspect the problem being with the ports, thus possibly drivers, rather than the devices (since the devices are still undetected). I have also tried uninstalling all USB ports in Device Manager before restarting Windows, which didn't help. Another related concern is whether the motherboard driver(s) is(are) up-to-date. I have an Intel Desktop Board LGA775 and cannot find the proper download for an update. This may fix the problem. Suggestions?

Usb Ports Completely Stoped Working
Not to long ago i had downloaded and installed windows 7 beta to my hp elite desktop and it seemed to work very good it was slightly faster than vista which was on it before but im also a gamer and have about 4 games on it and usually play with my 360 controller thruogh the usb port. Well while it was installing the driver for the controller it all the sudden stoped and said usb device unpluged so i jus said whatever and jus treid to use the keyboard and mouse but noticed my keyboard wasnt working so now i was thinkin great what now. I tried all the usual things to get it to work even unistalling all the usb ports then restartin to let them reinstall to actually payin $40 for a pci usb card witch none of these things worked not even the new card witch was very agrivating cos it seemed to work for a few other people on some different forums. So my next step was to contact microsoft and let them know what my situation was and well they said they werent responsible for it and duh like i didnt know im the one that chose to install it this person acted like i was blaming them when all i asked was if there was a way to resolve my problem like maybe an update or somethin and thats the only thing i got from that dumb fckr witch was retarded. so i sent another email sayin the same thing and a different person told me to look at the forums and said there most likely is a solution around but without finding one i decided to post this and i am new to this so forgive me if this is the wrong area for this post im also new to computers all i want is my pc to work good again i had to buy this dell labtop jus to find a solution because my internet is thruogh a usb modem. And i forgot to add not one usb port works all of them in the device manager have the exclimation sighn.

USB To Serial Support Vs Native COM Ports
I have a new laptop at work, a HP Elitebook 6930p without its own internal COM-port. Too bad actually, but the days of the good old serial port seems to be gone. In my line of work I often use COM-ports to communicate with various PABXs and/or other TeleCom devices. Now I have a small Belkin USB-to-serial adapter (model F5U257), and it works fine with Windows XP SP3 that I'm running now on my laptop. And I can use a DOS based program from Panasonic to communicate with an old PABX they have without any problems. The program also works fine with Vista and Windows 7. My old work laptop was a HP Compaq nc8000 with an internal serial port. This computer now runs Windows 7 just for fun and testing. So I know the program works fine in Windows 7 and in XP on that laptop, and I can use the internal serial port to communicate with the PABX just fine both with XP and 7 ... What I cannot do, is use the Belkin USB-to-serial in Windows 7 on that laptop and communicate with the PABX, even though 7 install the adapter without problem (an adapter from ST Lab needed drivers to work correctly). My problem, and my question is - "Any" USB-to-serial adapter doesn't seem to work as good as a native COM-port in Windows 7, at least for me and my program that I use towards the specific PABX. That is the only thing I've tested so far - I haven't had so much chance yet to do further tests towards other products like an external modem and/or other PABXs. I haven't installed Windows 7 on my new HP Elitebook 6930p yet either, because I need to make a disk image for quick restore to XP since I'm dependent on a working computer.

When i say intense activity, i mean copying over a large file to a jump drive or external drive, burning a DVD on external DVD drive, etc. My game controllers, mouse, and Mic headset all work fine and don't cause the USB to malfunction. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks. i have reinstalled my motherboard drivers and aside from that i have no clue what else to do. I did not have this problem under XP.

Webcam, Usb Ports, And Biometric Fingerprint Scanner
First off I have a Toshiba x250-sli3 laptop and I installed windows 7 RC last night. Today I went to start up my computer and I get a message saying " Webcam driver ope fail. Please restart camera or computer" this websam is built into the computer. I have tried to reinstall the drive and it did not work. next problem are the most serious one is that non of my usb ports worked. I reinstalled the chipset driver along with the hardware driver and still they are not working. I also tried useing the troubleshoot option in the devices option and it tried to reinstall 6 usb port hub drivers and it said that they were sucessful however when I went to plug in anything to my computer nothing happened. no error message, no connection sound, nothing at all. it does not even reconize that there is anything in the port. I did get it to work once by uninstalling all of the usb drivers then intalling them all again then restarting then running the troubleshooter and it worked but when I went to try and fix another problem I had to restart and then the same problem was back. third problem is that my biometric fingerprint scanner is not working either and again I have tried to reinstall the drivers and everything and restart and it still will not work. So im out of options now, anyone have any ideas on how to fix these issues? all of these drivers are from the toshiba website and are vista drivers.

Definition Update For Windows Defender Malfunctions USB Ports
When ever my computer installs definition update for windows defender (1.71.833.0) my usb ports malfunction. I have to do a system restore to bring my computer back to a working state. This wouldn't be a problem if that update didn't install itself every 1-2 days. I disabled Defender itself to try to stop the update but to no avail. I am not sure what is happening. I have honestly never heard of something like this. I run Windows 7 64-bit in a more than capable computer. 2.6 ghz AMD Phenom (Quad-core), 9800gt EVGA video card, 4 gigs of ram. MSI motherboard. KVM USB Ports Not Working With Win 7 64 Bit Enterprise
I have a four port KVM managing two computers. The USB ports for devices like printers aren't working for the Windows 7 box but they work just fine on my XP machine hooked up to the KVM. This tells me it is an issue with my Windows 7 box and not the KVM itself. When I plug the printer into the KVM USB port, Windows 7 makes the sound like it is adding a device. However, no message pops up about installing the driver and no printer shows up in the control panel. Additionally, when I try to manually add the printer Windows 7 does not see the USB001 port like my XP box does. Uninstalling/re-installing the USB host controllers via the device manager doesn't work either. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I've tired many methods: - manualy using diskpart - automatic with UltraISO and WinToFlash When the USB loads the installation I click Install now, the screen sais that the installer is preparing and after that I get an error message saying that "Required cd/dvd drive device driver is missing..." I've tried creating the bootable USB thumb drive under Windows 7 RTM, Vista Ent and Windows XP Pro SP3 but nothing helped. Also tried changing the SATA mode in the BIOS of the netbook from AHCI to IDE - no change. I've updated the BIOS and still nothing. Any suggestion what else I can do to make the instalaltion from USB flash drive successful?
