TeamVeiwer 8 Stopped Loading On Windows 7 Ultimate
Dec 28, 2012
TeamViewer 8.0.16642 stopped loading on my Win 7 Ultimate box at startup. I went to services.msc and stopped TeamViewer. I went to Control Panel, Uninstall a Program and uninstalled TeamViewer. It took a long time to uninstall. I ran CCleaner Registry and deleted the TeamViewer entries. I also ran Little Registry Cleaner and deleted the TeamViewer entries. I deleted the TeamViewer folder in Programs x86 folder and ran both reg cleaners again and rebooted. I was able to successfully reinstall TeamViewer 8.0.16642 again... but TeamViewer fails to load on startup. I was not upgrading TeamViewer when I reinstalled it. Any ideas on how to get TeamViewer to load on startup? I'm confused because it used to work VERY well for me. I'm not sure why it stopped working or why it won't start at reboot in the system tray.

I came home yesterday and my Windows 7 installation had stopped loading programs. I was able to boot into the OS and run Explorer, but nothing else would run, even from the Program Files folders. I'd click on program icons and the hourglass would appear, then disappear after a few seconds, and nothing would happen. Also I could get to a certain point in the Control Panel, but when I tried to initiate a System Image Backup for example I couldn't do that either.
I tried repairing and then restoring the OS and now I just get a black screen after I log in to Windows. After trying to restore the OS, I got a message saying that the restore function was unable to restore the drive and the OS files remained unchanged. I think it might be the drive so I'm going to buy a new drive (OS drive recommendations most welcome!). I'm curious as to what the problem is though. I booted into a Windows XP installation in a different drive, and it looks like I can browse the drive Windows 7's installed in fine, but somehow something happened to the OS installation.

I turned on my PC and the monitor showed that there was no signal and went to power save mode. I checked DVI leads - all ok. Tried a few things as this has happened before and realized the BIOS was not loading or the signal was not getting from machine (via graphics card) to monitor. This has happened before and a CMOS reset has fixed.I reset CMOS and could then load BIOS. However Windows would not load even after making sure RAID and all other BIOS settings were as they were before. I tried a few times and did a system restore and loaded last known working profile. Now Windows starts to load and I get to the multi coloured dots forming the MS Windows symbol and it looks like it is about to load, but when the screen goes blank and the machine restarts - this loop continues unless I boot to safe mode.I also removed all usb devices and tried - same result. So, I have tried a number of settings, a system restore, and I tried some other things that seemed to fail as windows said the machine would not start properly.I am now going to boot into Ubuntu to see if that works and that may rule out the gfx card, I will report that back. I will also boot without the keyboard and report that too.

Today, there was a power shortage while my PC was on. Quickly, after it happened, I turned off the PSU and the Surge Protection in fear something might have happened there. After the power came back, I turned everything on again and started Windows. It booted normally, no strange sounds nor other stuff. My PC has only 1 user (me) so there's no User Panel. It automatically went to loading Windows. The problem started here. Windows would load my wallpaper and Task Bar (I dunno how it's called in English, it's the one with the Windows Button), but no programs nor the icons would load. It's stuck there.I have tried CTRL+ALT+DEL, but there was no response (actually, there was, an error message saying Windows wasn't able to show the user panels and power panels, and that I should reboot my computer manually). After some time, I was able to get into Computer. My 3 partitions were there (2 HDDs, 1 for OS and another partitioned in 2) but I couldn't access them.

Suddenly, about two weeks ago Firefox 10 stopped loading web pages. The "connecting" circle keeps spinning and absolutely nothing happens. I have Thunderbird email and may have found a temporary way around it: I right click on "Reload tab" on the website tab I'm trying to access. I have to do it several times for it to connect to the site. I uninstalled FF 10 and reinstalled 9 to see if the problem persisted: it does. I actually had to use Internet Explorer (!) a few times to be able to access the various websites, and I downloaded Chrome as a temporary stop-gap measure in case FF doesn't work at all. Although I don't want to use any browser but Firefox, this malfunctioning is getting me down a lot; I might be going to Chrome permanently. What can be causing this vexing problem of web pages not loading? [I have Windows 7 Profession 32 bit SP1].

One particular site that is not loading at all, on any browsers on my computer is [URL]. There are many more that fail to load as well. I did test these sites on my iPhone with no problems though. There are a handful of other sites that do open but do not load properly [missing images, ect.] I also thought that it might be malware but I installed & scanned my computer with four different programs which did not solve the problem. I'm guessing that it still may be some problem on the software side with settings but I can't seem to figure out where to look. BTW, I've been using Microsoft Security Essentials as my antivirus program for the past couple of days now. Prior to that I was using Avira but it seemed to be giving me problems so I uninstalled it and installed the Microsoft app.

I bought the full retail Win 7 Ultimate and trying to upgrade Windows Vista Ultimate to Win 7 Ultimate, both 32bit. I get to the Expanding Windows files to 21% and nothing. The program is still running and stuck at 21% but after waiting 3 hours I shut power off and Vista was reinstated. Why can't I get past 21% Expanding Windows files? I want to use the upgrade because I have a ton of programs on my Vista and don't want to spend days reinstalling them.

I've tried to upgrade from Vista Ultimate 32 bit to 7 Ultimate 32 bit numerous times now, all with the same result: a BSOD during the install process, which I get during (what I think is) the final step called "Transferring files, settings and programs."
The installation compatibility test warns me about my Nvidia drivers, which I've attempted to both remove and upgrade to the latest version, but that doesn't seem to make a difference (I still get the warning during the compatibility check, and I still get the blue screen). I'm not sure that's even the problem, either. I can't (easily) remove/replace the video card, since my mobo doesn't have onboard video, so I'd hopefully be able to avoid having to do that.
The error in the blue screen is a nebulous "REFERENCE_BY_POINTER" message. The technical information is "STOP: 0x00000018 (0x00000000, 0x86478030, 0x00000002, 0xFFFFFFFF)."
As a zip file, I've attached the setup log, error log, compatibility report, and what I think is the setup dump file, all of which I found in C:$WINDOWS.~BTSourcesPanther (I believe that's the right place to look). The logs complain about BthMig problems, which I think has something to do with bluetooth, but I don't have any bluetooth peripherals. I've uninstalled things that I thought might have some bluetooth things in it, like MS Intellitype (maybe a stretch), but again, no difference.
System specs: AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+, on an Asus M2N SLI Deluxe, with 4 GB of ram, and an Nvidia GeForce 8800 GT. The hard drive I'm installing (upgrading) on has about 100 GB free.

I'm trying to upgrade a computer from Vista Ultimate (32 bit) to 7 Ultimate (32 bit) and I keep receiving this error message:
"This installation disc isn't compatible with your version of Windows. To upgrade, you need the correct installation disc. For more information, check your computer's system information. To install a new copy of Windows, restart (boot) your computer using the installation disc, and then select Custom (advanced)."
Now, I double-checked all the system requirements and the system is compatible with 7.

Until yesterday I had two different versions of Windows installed on two different hard drives, one on C: and one on E:. Yesterday I decided to remove the one on E: and started using CCleaner to just wipe the drive clean. I stopped in the middle and decided to format the disk instead because it was going to take a few hours using CCleaner's wipe. But by then Windows was having trouble with that drive and although it was detected, I couldn't format it or do anything to it for that matter. So I downloaded a copy of Natty and running it from the disk, I was going to try formatting it from there, but it was not detecting that drive. Fine. I understand there is a way to mount the drive and I just have to figure that out.

I have read a lot on this getting stuck. I had an issue with it getting stuck, so I had HP to send me the recovery disks and I backed everything up and did a clean install. It did its thing and now it is at the Windows is loading files screen. Bad news is, it has been on this screen since last night at around 8:00 (12 hrs), Good news is, it has been moving. I put a sticky note on the progress bar, even this morning it has moved about a half an inch. Should I be worried or just patient? It said it may take up to 3 hours and it has been 12 hours.

A few months back, my laptop started getting stuck at the splash screen. The problem used to come and go but it annoyed me so I gave my laptop to lenovo customer care service. They advised me to restore my OS and I did the same but to no avail. The problem still persisted. Then I went again to a different lenovo customer service and they updated my BIOS and tweaked it. It worked good for about 12 hours or so.

I just got a new computer that I built: i5 2500k, MSIP67 G43, 8GB RAM, 2 6850s in CF, Corsair 750w PS. I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit.It was working fine yesterday but sometime this morning it started hanging up. Basically what happens is the username screen comes on, I click the user, then it makes the little chime.I can see the recycle bin, I can access the start menu but I can't do anything after that. My network connection icon in the task bar freezes for about 3-4 minutes.During that time I'm unable to open any program until it connects. After that, everything works fine. All I've installed today was a windows update, an updated driver for my Networking card, and GWFL client. I was overclocking my CPU also, but since I'm troubleshooting this, I rolled it back to the default settings.I've uninstalled GFWL, and I've rolled back to the previous drivers and it still does this.

My Windows 7 was not able to load multiple times after I reformat the HD timse and times again. I also followed some tips to system restore and what not in Safe Mode but that still doesn't work. I'm currently typing this problem in Safe mode with Network but that's the thing.I'm able to load into Windows but not in a normal way.I'm having a suspicion that my HD cache might have messed up. I'm still using Intel's faulty p67 motherboard too, is that also the problem?
