I think whats its more or less doing is every time wmp opens it goes trough my docs and music folders and it adds everything there, i don't want it to its all too messy for wmp to list properly..i've gone into tools and unchecked all the boxes but there dosn't seem to be an option to stop it adding local media.

It always hogs up massive amount of CPU power and goes into (Not Responding) for a min while updating.I only add media files to the Windows Explorer Library so I can get indexed searches. I don't even use WMP to view files or anything. Just to burn some music CDs sometimes.I've tried deleting the files from the WMP library but the next time I open it up, it scans and updates all my files again! Is there a way to completely purge the WMP library and make it not update ever? I've unchecked every option that seems to make it scan and update but it still does it.Basically I want to UNLINK the Windows Explorer Library from the WMP Library.

Also it won't go to screen saver. I have the screensaver set to not require password after waking. Also I have my power settings set to high performance. Also i have my Nic card configured so that it isn't allowed to be turned off.

2. remove what left with driver sweeper
3. Reboot and try to install new driver BUT Windows 7 automatically find their stock driver for 7600GT and installs it, damn it.
Maybe I don't need to do that anymore?

I'm running Windows 7 Professional 64-bit and having the same problem. You can easily resolve the "Hidden File" problem by right clicking on the file, select Properties, and remove the check box next to "Hidden". If you tagged all the photos in a folder, simply select all (ctrl-A) and do the same. It solved the hidden file problem for me without having to show all hidden files.The problem I'm running into that I can't fix is that even after doing this, Carbonite now recognizes these files as system files and refuses to back them up. Even if you try to manually force Carbonite to back them up, it immediately unselects the check box. Hopefully somebody knows of a solution. It's weird, because I was tagging photos just a few weeks ago, and didn't have any problems at all. I don't know if there was an update at some point that screwed this all up.

Now every time I start my computer, I get a message asking me to install it. I even tried uninstalling then original Ventrilo App and following the wizard to install again, but after I restart my computer, the message for install, still pops up. As well, after I toggle cancel another install box pops up.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm not being able to install/copy files from an ISO image.I have tried almost every program that I could find on net like demon tools lite, alchoal 120%, power ISO, magic iso, clone disk and alomst every soft of this area but whenever I mount that Image and start copying files from there it fails in the middle stating "disk is not ready" and naturally the copying process is aborted. and when I go check there that ISO image is automatically unmounted from the virtual driver. P.S: that ISO image was burned by my cousin and it actually holds some video files of a marriage ceremony. it worked completly fine with other pcs (having same OS). only it's mine one which is being this weird. and for some reasons I can't even re-install my window 7. and it's not the only ISO image having problem but some others as well are getting me to the same error ending up in the middle with the same error and getting dismounted automatically. everything else in this OS is working perfectly fine. so please is there any soultion I can copy files from that ISO file?

It closes down & goes all the way back to my screen saver. (This can do it from the 1st 30 seconds to maybe upto 2 mins) loosing that site & having to re-type the whole thing back in all over again. I have tried all over the place trying to find solutions to this . But to no avail. I do not have my browser history either that seems to have disappeared as well.

View 6 Replies View RelatedMy xbox has been connected as a media center extender to this computer and router combination for several months now. The router is a Buffalo WZR-HP-G300NH. Earlier this week the media center extender was having trouble playing back video. After a restart of the computer the extender was no longer connected.When I try to add a new extender I get the message "Cannot add extender". Microsoft says to enable upnp and multicast. Check. Reflashed firmware to dd-wrt. No luck. Flash back to buffalo firmware. No luck. Try an old Linksys WRT54GL I have lying around. No Luck.The event logger has this error: "Media Center Extender Setup failed as the Extender was detected on the network but the UPnP search for the Extender failed (timed out after 20000ms)." Event ID: 538 Now I've done everything I could find about enabling network discovery, allowing anything to access media and such. Network and sharing is set pretty much wide open. I've also tried switching between home and work networks.With that said, I decided to check and see what updates have been installed. It turns out that an update was applied on the day I started having problems. It says it cannot be uninstalled. how I can prevent Windows from doing this? I archive my files according to the program they are created in and I need to keep all my with file original xtension.
I use adobe bridge so I do not need to view the contents of my files in any Windows Explorer window.
I have VLC Portable as the default program for opening some video files, like .mp4 and .avi. And I have Foobar (portable) as the default program for .mp3.Usually the icons on .mp4, .avi, .mp3 files get updated with the icons of the assigned media players.But on this PC it's not working. They're still the same icons as if WMP was the default player.Does it have to do with the Standard user account? (Because on other PCs I run from an Admin account and I don't have such problems.)

I know I will probably have to convert them to a different format so that players can read them, but what format would you recommend I use and how should I go about it? Also I am wondering about the quality loss. To my understanding there will be a loss in quality, but will it be that significant? I want the video to look good, but I would like to use DVDs because I don't think my computer (Dell Inspiron N7110) can write to Blu-ray discs. And since that's the only way to put the files onto a Blu-ray (without buying a recorder for it) I am planning on using DVD+RW discs.
View 5 Replies View RelatedOk, so my laptop pooed its pants and decided to break after numurous half successful attempts to fix it, as i had established it was a harddrive problem, i backed up my files onto 3 disks and system reset my laptop.I automatically backed them up, what i mean is i let the computer do it for me it scanned them and put them onto the disk and what not. So it got reset and i booted it back up did all the hoo haa and eventually got back to the main bit. it never explained to me how to re add all my backed up data and even though it recommends using disks whenever it mentions backing up data, when you look around the help pages all it talks about is internal backing up, so it gives you no clue of how to re-add all this data, which is very frustrating.It has all saved as .wim files, don't know why.

But when I play the dvd's playback stops randomly and I need to re-start playback manually.VLC Player has no problem playing these files - only Media Center that is acting up? I can easily add the title and album information, but when it comes to the date (which I just want to be the year which the media was made in) it hardly ever works. Some files I can simply just right click on it, go to properties, click the detail tab and enter the year where it says media. View 1 Replies View RelatedI have Windows Media Player Version 12.0.7601.17514. I am trying to create a CD with mostly music (.wma) files but would like to add a few .jpg files. I can move all this (.wma + .jpg) over to the "list" file and them burn to a CD but it will not play on a CD player. I can open the CD through the CD tray on my computer and make the CD play, but this is not what I want. I want to give these CDs to family and friends so they can play on their CD players and car CDs without the .jpg files interfering. The .jpg files are only on the CD for people to find a picture and message I have left for them should they drop the CD into a computer. I see on the internet where people are discussing adding "album art" to files but this is not what I want to do. I just want the .jpg files to be separate from the .wma files and for the .wma files to play. How can I do this? PS when I burn a CD with only .wma (music) files, everything works well and the CD will play in any CD player and car CD.
