We're just starting to get Windows 7 clients (on Win 7 Pro x64 right now) on our work network and we've noticed that video streams and downloads seem to randomly stop moments after we start them.
I installed Ventrilo on my computer a few days ago, and I believe the installation wizard installed more than once. Now every time I start my computer, I get a message asking me to install it. I even tried uninstalling then original Ventrilo App and following the wizard to install again, but after I restart my computer, the message for install, still pops up. As well, after I toggle cancel another install box pops up.
I'm not being able to install/copy files from an ISO image.I have tried almost every program that I could find on net like demon tools lite, alchoal 120%, power ISO, magic iso, clone disk and alomst every soft of this area but whenever I mount that Image and start copying files from there it fails in the middle stating "disk is not ready" and naturally the copying process is aborted. and when I go check there that ISO image is automatically unmounted from the virtual driver. P.S: that ISO image was burned by my cousin and it actually holds some video files of a marriage ceremony. it worked completly fine with other pcs (having same OS). only it's mine one which is being this weird. and for some reasons I can't even re-install my window 7. and it's not the only ISO image having problem but some others as well are getting me to the same error ending up in the middle with the same error and getting dismounted automatically. everything else in this OS is working perfectly fine. so please is there any soultion I can copy files from that ISO file?
My pc is only a few months old But, for some unknown reason every time I go to the internet explorer & choose a site to find information no matter which site. It closes down & goes all the way back to my screen saver. (This can do it from the 1st 30 seconds to maybe upto 2 mins) loosing that site & having to re-type the whole thing back in all over again. I have tried all over the place trying to find solutions to this . But to no avail. I do not have my browser history either that seems to have disappeared as well.
I think whats its more or less doing is every time wmp opens it goes trough my docs and music folders and it adds everything there, i don't want it to its all too messy for wmp to list properly..i've gone into tools and unchecked all the boxes but there dosn't seem to be an option to stop it adding local media.
I have a new Desktop with Windows 7. After I start the computer and leave it running for a while, (10 to 15min), it will automatically revert to the password screen. Also it won't go to screen saver. I have the screensaver set to not require password after waking. Also I have my power settings set to high performance. Also i have my Nic card configured so that it isn't allowed to be turned off.
The problem started 7 months ago, but it was minor. Mostly, while gaming, in the main menu, the PC just shuts down. Sometimes it gives me " Stop errors". The last STOP error was 0X0000007F. I've updated BIOS and the Graphics Driver.
I use the latest version of firefox and use Dodo wireless broadband and I can never get beyond 98% of a download, it's very frustrating when certain programs have to be updated to even run. According to dodo's signal charts I should be in the best location for their signals and when I contact them they refuse to take any responsibility for it. I wasted countless gigs on downloads that just won't finish. Is there anything I can do to make the downloads finish? I've tried disabling my anti virus, firewalls, tried using IE8, NOTHING WORKS!
I am working on my daughter's Presario CQ 56-115DX Notebook running Windows 7. It has been running erratically and has a lot of junk on it and no anti virus. I have tried to install several free antivirus programs and also a Revo Uninstaller with both IE, Chrome and Firefox. All Downloads are blocked (or automatically "cancelled") including your TSG SysInfo. I turned off the Firewall but that didn't help. I also did a System Recovery back to 1-30-2013 to no avail.
whenever I try using IE9 to download something (so far just a 634mb mod for arma 2) it crashes after you do the "click here to download" , it correcly goes to filefront but then crashes before anything else happens.
Suddenly everything I try to download from sites like rapidshare, megaupload etc are interrupted on both INTERNET EXPLORER AND GOOGLE CHROME !! The downloads finish and then both browsers give an error saying The download is interrupted ! like this "123/123 KB Download interrupted" I deleted and installed Google Chrome yet still I can't download anything !!
I don't mind IE 9 but I went back to IE 8 because my download speed seemed to be cut in half. I have internet speed of 7 mbps-Verizon. The download manager in IE 9 is slow.
Im having an odd problem with a windows 7 computer. An engineer here is trying to download a 80mb+ file the file will speed along at about 200-300 kb until randomly it will stop..... For example the file is 55% done, downloading at 222kb/s and will remain like that stuck at 55% and the dl speed will usually stay the same or slowly(The course of minutes).

I have windows-7 and I went on the "JPL small body data base" site and to use one of the features I would have to download some active-x software. When I ok this to download I get a message that says that windows has blocked it because they don't know them. Is there any way to let me make the decisions instead of windows?
I am trying to download the ISO files of win 7 ultimate ect without having to use torrent.I have found this site listing them all with direct download links..Is this a trust worthy site? and how do I verify that they havent been modified compared to ones at msdn?(by the way, I'm not trying to download them for illegal reasons, Its because I no longer have the CD's but do have legit product keys
Im not sure where to even start but I have the Dell 630m with Windows 7 premium but after I install avg my c drive filled but leaving me 5gigs left. Then I compress the files causeing bootmgr to show on start up and then I use a start up disc to install windows 7 ult, and everything was fine until I saw my c drive was still filled with junk so I decided to to a clean install but after that everything went normal but I cant install driver for wifi access let alone install anything. Please tell me there is a fix to this and I dont have a useless computer
Since installing Windows 7 Pro I've had odd issues with the default Downloads folder. Long story, but I've had three or four different Downloads folders - under the user profile, on the desktop, in the root folder...
The one I'd been using was located at C:usersCarsonDownloads. To test something (the behavior of Firefox) I deleted that folder. I ran Firefox and downloaded something and it re-created the folder in the same location.
But... Now I can't access the folder. When I access the folder properties and the owner, it tells me 'Unable to display current owner'. I can't delete it, can't change permissions. How can I get control of the folder again?
(Yes, I know I can download into any folder I like. Many applications, such as browsers, use the default downloads folder location, so it's a lot simpler to just use it and not define another.)
The one he has is a 32 bit with Windows 7 and Mcafee Antivirus. There are some free aplications such as a cd/dvd cover software that he installed on his old laptop with Vista that worked ok. On the newer one they seem to install but theres no Desktop icon that he requests and in All Programs the folder is there but shows as empty. In uninstall or change the files are there. I thought it may be User Account control so i suggested he disables it and try to download again but its still the same. He also tried to install trials of other things with the same result. I installed the applications he wants on my Vista with no problems so i immagine the problem is with Windows 7 security somehow.
I'm using an hp computer with Windows 7. I use IE 9 as my browser. When I open tools, or click on the gear wheel I get the option to "view downloads". I click on clear list to get rid of the ones I don't want, or I clear the whole file. The list does clear. But the next time I open the browser and go to view downloads, the same items are still there. How do I clear them so they don't reappear? Do I need to go into the registry editor?
I am paying for 12 mbps DSL and I've done three separate download speed tests and they all say I am getting right at 11.50 mbps on downloads and 1.5 mbps on uploads. I use MP3 Rocket Pro for my music downloads. When I first used MP3 Rocket on my old computer a couple years back I was paying a premium for 6 mbps DSL and the music downloads were blazingly fast at almost the 6mbps I expected. Now, with this new pc build and 12 mbps DSL (doubled) I am, for some reason, limited to around 1 mbps music downloads. What is limiting this? It (music downloads) used to be six times faster. A MP3 tech said it was probably due to my I.E. settings. Could this be true or is it because of limitations they themselves have installed in (new) their site? Anyway, I don't know how to change any settings in Internet Explorer to make a difference and if it is a problem with I.E. why was it so fast previously compared to now? I never mess with internet settings so that would mean they thought people would prefer a slower internet and changed it themselves. That's crazy and not true! The only other thing I can think of is maybe this new DSL router has something to do with it. I used a different one with the old compute
