Changing Primary Harddisk, Two Raid1 Backup Data Drives Affected?
Jan 6, 2012I'm currently running a primary disk for my system drive on windows 7, with two other 1tb drives for saving data set to raid1(Mirror each other ). However my primary disk has problems and need to be upgraded.Would I need to reformat the two mirror data drives before i do the upgrade in order to ensure the raid 1 is working

What I need to know is best way to back up our data before I crash something again. Will windows 7 help me build "recovery" disks that also back up our personal data... or should I back up our personal data another way? We have no Windows 7 installation disk - just the upgrade disk from HP (Vista to Windows 7). Reason for asking: I have 2 corrupted partitions in linux that I need to reformat and I want our data backed up before I start.

Aug 15, 2011I noticed strange things about my HDD. (I have Windows 7 installed on my SDD, and not on the HDD). Says a weird sound and then sounds like it's charging up somehow, during this Windows lags. It usually happens when I Shutdown my machine. After the process, Windows will shut down immediately. Says "Not Responding" sometimes. And it says it at very silly places, like changing the wallpaper. During this, I can see the HDD activity constant lights on. Maybe I should get a new one.

Harddisk Space Decreasing On Windows 7?
May 22, 2011I am wondering why my Harddisk space on windows 7 keeps decreasing. From 30 Gb of free space to 13Gb. As i had 2 partition. All my downloads are in my second partition while i only store applications like games in the first. However i did not download anything but my free space in the first partition kept decreasing. I tried turning off system restore but only about 1Gb was restored. Is this some system settings with windows 7?

Sep 18, 2012Recently I have formatted my Usb External Harddisk with exFAT, as I heard of the benefits of it over FAT32. Its an IMATION Drive with 320gb storage. Device Properties: TOSHIBA MK3252GSX USB Device, The problem is that it takes forever to copy files from the drive as compared to when the format was FAT32. Currently, Im trying to backup all my files on my PC and I've been trying to copy out 60gb of Data that I started 10+ hours ago. The wierd thing is the progress bar moves a fraction and then stops for about 5mins before continuing the another fraction.

Aug 18, 2012So I've been using my 64GB ssd as my windows 7 boot drive and i have a 1TB hdd as my data drive. Recently the my computer has begun to freeze up with errors like "explorer.exe" has stopped responding or "windows" has stopped responding and half of the time when i try to boot it says it cant find windows. This has lead me to believe that my ssd is dying despite being only a year old. I need to RMA my ssd but to do that i would be losing my boot drive for weeks. So I thought id try to create a system image so that i can simply put my boot drive on my hdd, but when i try to create the image it says that the image would be 711GB because its including all of my hdd (which contains all my user libraries and downloads). My question is: how do I make windows stop thinking that my hdd is a system drive so that I can create a reasonably sized image, or more generally: how can i easily move my boot drive to my hdd? Also, I've read some posts about using "easyBCD" to accomplish the latter but I'm not sure that's exactly what i need in this situation.

Apr 7, 2012My computer is running windows 7 ultimate. From the last few days I have noticed that my computer does not save changes before shutdown or restart.
Take for example you have placed the recycle bin folder on top-left corner of the desktop which was earlier placed on the bottom-right corner. Then after restarting you would get the recycle bin folder again on the bottom right corner. But if you save something in the disk like a document in Documents folder, then it will still be there at the disk even after restart.
